We found this site in UK Campsites while planning a tour of the NE of England. It was about 200 miles from home on the South Coast, but the final couple of miles were confusing as the Sat Nav wanted to send us through a disused access to the site. We had to go further up the road, turn left and then left again in to the entrance.
What a fantastic site. They seem to have taken the best of any site we have stayed at.
The pitches are large, with neat hedging ensuring privacy. The sh/wc are individual rooms, warm & welcoming, lots of space, plenty of hot water and dry area for clothes, hair dryer, radio and big mirrors.
Direct access to their farm, so popular with dog owners. We stayed there on the way back as it was so good.

Stunning is the only way to describe Eye Kettleby Lakes, if it's peace and quiet you are after. The fully serviced pitches are huge and very well kept and the toilet and showers are superb. There are lovely walks around the seven fishing lakes. The club house and restaurant are also nice with staff that cannot do enough to help you, The nice town of Melton Mowbray is just a couple of miles away and worth a visit. I can't recommend this site highly enough and I'm sure anyone who visits will feel the same

We visited this site after several recommendations, we stayed for 5 nights to see what everyone was raving about but what people failed to tell us was the massive difference between Standard and Serviced pitches. We were on a standard pitch which was very basic and sloping. The toilets and showers were superb but the site was lacking in personal contact, we had no idea who the owners were. There was no control over vehicle movement, we were disturbed at 6am each morning by neighbours leaving for the fishing lakes and had someone arrive on the next pitch at 10pm setting up. There was supposed to be a ruling of one vehicle per pitch but one opposite us had three vehicles including a works transit van
As part of the Tranquil Parks site we feel the tranquillity was missing. The area was interesting, shops were within easy reach and the site was easy to find. Perhaps if we had stayed on a serviced pitch our stay would have been nicer.

Being fans of 'Tranquil Parks' sites, we read the reviews for this site on UK Campsite and plumped for an eleven night stay for our first visit. We were not disappointed in any way except for the English weather of course, which was on occasion, cold with heavy downpours.
Every member of staff were warm and welcoming and very helpful. Having seven fishing lakes to choose from it is a fisherman's paradise with every lake having a great selection of specimen fish.
We took advantage of the Indian takeaway delivery service and there was also a fish and chip night, the van serving freshly cooked food in the car park outside reception. Best of all was the fact that you could sit in the clubhouse and eat your food using the plates and cutlery provided whilst having a beer or two and no washing up to do or food smells in your caravan. We also had a Sunday roast in the clubhouse which was also very nice.
Being a new site all the amenities were first class and kept very clean. Pitches 1 - 47 being super pitches are the biggest pitches we've ever seen. Park your car and caravan on tarmac and your awning goes on the hard standing gravel and you also have a nice sized area of lawn to sit on (weather permitting).
Whilst there we visited Melton Mowbray on market day, Rutland Water and the very impressive Calke Abbey, which is a great day out.
We will definitely be returning to this top site.

I just never knew that there could be sites like this in this country it is simply out of this world.
It has every thing and some clean (spotless) showers/toilets that are just like 5 star hotels pitches have tv points drinking water taps per pitch grey waste drain per pitch hard standing for van shingle for awning and grass.
Shop bar and eatery with awesome food all reasonably prises.
Helpful and friendly staff 7 fishing lakes dog walking area love this site cant wait to go back.

We have just return from a weekend break at this touring site. We booked it as we have two energetic little dogs & needed a site with plenty of good walks for them & us to enjoy.
We chose a standard pitch number 54 which is just on the peripheral of the main camping area without the TV hookup or the grey water drain (we didn't really need either), what a good choice it was. We were the last pitch in line so not overlooked at all, our views were wheat fields & countryside rather than other campers ( we are not anti social, but which would you prefer honestly? ). The whole experience was good from the minute we arrived to the minute we left, check in very friendly & informative, all the staff were friendly & helpful throughout our stay always with a warm smile. The toilet & shower rooms are immaculate, the showers are full privacy rooms ie each one is a contained area with a shower(unlimited hot water, no push buttons here), toilet, sink, hairdryer & plenty of hanging space away from the shower for your clothes. We walked around the fishing lakes all seven of them which gave the dogs plenty of walks along with the open fields that are available to them also. The club house was suitably far enough away from the touring site to be unobtrusive, but a useful addition to the site as they had a bar along with selling food both to eat in & to take away. With the obvious exception of the restaurant, everywhere else was totally dog friendly making life much easier for us if we wanted a drink or some food which was excellent.
We are already booking our next stay with them, one of the best sites we have been to & with the added bonus of being adults only at this time of year.

Well another great break at this 5 star park. Fantastic fishing, friendly staff, and an inviting clubhouse, and most importantly, it is very dog friendly. This was the first place we took our caravan, an we have been back many times since. Don't really want more people to know about this fantastic place, but I think we owe it to the owners to praise them for what they have done.

We stayed here for 4 nights during the week and were a bit worried about coming to such a big place but needn't have. Very friendly reception and given enough info to be helpful but not overloaded. Levelish pitches with plenty of room and each with own water supply and electric. The new toilet block meant not having to walk along way to other one (but no washing up facilities in this one) Far enough from the clubhouse but near enough to walk - we went to the quiz night, which was fun. They also have fresh bread delivered everyday and newspapers for those who need them.
My only small criticism was that, on the day of departure, we decided to go to the clubhouse for a cooked breakfast and were a bit surprised that dogs were allowed where you were eating - not sure if that was just breakfast time or a general policy.
Would certainly return when I am in the area

What a gem of a place. Stayed for 4 nights. Weather was faultless lovely well maintained site. Showers and toilets spotless, very friendly people, plenty of lovely walks all from the site. My partner did some fishing and managed to catch a few fish all of good sizes. Can not wait for our return trip.

We spent the night at Eye Kettleby Lakes last night and it was a dream. We are on a charity walk camping along route and thought this site looked nice and welcoming from the website. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner and the friendly staff who actually let us have the night for free, we are going to put the money as a donation for the walk- very kind. We had a quiet lite spot just near the cows, which are long horned and beautiful to watch as the sun went down. The bar is lovely and has a sort of Swizz cottage style to it which is very desirable. The shower and toilet block is beautifully thought out and we were finally able to wash and dry our clothes! We really are very thankful to the kind service we received at this site and I really do recommend anyone wanting a nice get away with a decent spot for fishing! Thank you.
