Just returned from 3 nights over the August bank holiday.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pitches are large and come with power, water and waste water drain.

The clubhouse on site serves breakfasts and drinks. On the Sunday night there was live entertainment which was excellent.

The shower blocks are modern, clean and there is plenty of room to put your stuff after showering.

Melton Mowbray is about 10 minutes by car and is well worth a visit on market days.

Also recommend the pork pies!

Rutland Water is also well worth visiting which is about 30 minutes by car.

If you want a quiet relaxing break with good facilities then this is for you.

We have booked again for another short break - looking forward to it already.

We recently upgraded from a tent to a caravan after finally having enough of living in mud!

So we wanted somewhere local ish with fishing to try out the new van, came across this campsite after looking on here, and what can I say, we were not disappointed.

We were running late yet the reception staff were very helpful and didn't mind waiting for us, we were given a very warm and friendly welcome.

Went to our pitch and was very impressed with the size of the pitches, plenty of space on the hardcore for the van and the car to go and then a good sized patch of grass for an awning if you want one, we had nice weather ( luckily as we had the dog with us ) so we didn't put one up.

The site is newly refurbed and there are lots of little trees planted inbetween and behind each pitch, once these have grown up a bit more it will give you more privacy, but even with them not being big you still didn't feel overlooked.

The toilets blocks are great, personally I think they need a few more, but we never had to wait long. You get a key code to get into the individual toilet blocks, just don't forget to manually lock it once inside! Inside there is a little section with hairdryer, bench, information, then you have toilet, 2 sinks and a shower cubicle, the music playing adds a nice little touch, the lighting could be a touch brighter in the bench section, but it was by no means too dark.

The fishing lakes are great, no pressure to pay, they just come round during the day to collect your money from your peg. We had some really good catches and there are plenty of lakes to choose from.

We didn't go to the clubhouse so cant comment.

The whole site seemed to be a friendly atmosphere, and being adults only was lovely and quiet.

I would definitely recommend this site and we have already booked to go back. If you do go, you need to ignore tom tom towards the end of the journey and follow this signs, we got a little lost at first but we found it not too bad.

Just returned from 2 nights at this wonderful site. I fully endorse the previous reviews as we found everything about this site first class. The driveway in sets the scene with neatly trimmed verges and an impressive gateway.

Booking in was friendly and informative. Also very helpful next morning giving advice on the best fotpaths into Melton Mowbray, (takes about 40 minutes at a slow amble).

Plots large with level area for van. Shower block is the best we have experienced.

I fished both days and the lakes are well kept with loads of places to fish, even though it was a weekend and matches were taking place still plenty of room.

Clubhouse Saturday night was a surprise as there was a band on and they were a real hit, filling the dance floor. The local beer Hop on is also worth a try.

Will be returning at the next opportunity.

Well, what can we say another excellent Tranquil Touring Parks member (have also stayed at Daisy Bank in Montgomery and The Old Oaks at Glastonbury).

Peaceful and tranquil adult only site with excellent fishing facilities which added to the peace and relaxation (according to the fishermen we spoke to the 7/8 lakes are excellent). Site is mainly geared to fishing, also has lodges for hire and opened the adult only caravan/camping site this year (2012).

Plenty of walks for the dogs, our springers loved the long grass, and we did keep them on the leads around the fishing lakes so not to disturb the fishing!

Well laid out and beautifully maintained site with tarmac hardstaning and grass for awning/sitting out and pitches are all fully serviced with water, power, waste and tv. Planted really well with hedging and shrubbery (which will look lovely once it has grown a little being freshly planted).

Shower blocks are excellent. Each one is in effect an en-suite, you open the door on comes the light and music and you have your own toilet, sink, shower, dressing area and hairdryer. Very well maintained and cleaned by the site staff. We didn't use the laundry or washing up facilities but these were equally immaculatley maintained.

There is a clubhouse which does breakfasts in the mornings (and breakfast butties to the fishing pitches) and drinks in the evenings (we didn't use these facilities on this occasion, but they looked very nice in the beautiful log cabin building).

Small shop with basic essentials. Melton Mowbray is just up the road with fabulous Pork Pies and Stilton cheese and a weekly market and car boot.

Excellent - can't wait to go back.

What a fantastic site, a fishermans haven! We had a week there and it was really good. I could relax whilst my husband went fishing.

There were a few nice villages close by, Melton Mowbray being one of them with a good market.

The site is very picturesque and will look even better when all the hedges have grown.

I could not believe the toilet block it is one of the best I have seen.

It was the queens jubilee while we were there and the owners had live music and home made fish and chips at a very good price.

A lovely site we will definitely go back next year

This is a brand new Adult Only Touring Site near Melton Mowbray this is what attracted us and the early promotion 15% discount.

This site is a anglers paradise with 7/8 stocked lakes and disabled access.

On arrival the reception/bar/restaurant/shop is in a superb log cabin and very helpful staff.

All touring pitches have Tarmac for unit and car with grass for awning but we thought this area needs to improve.

The Touring pitches are spacious and fully service including tv hook up a adaptor is needed for this. There is also 6 super pitches extended for bigger caravans/motorhomes.

The toilet block and disabled is outstanding.

The shop needs to be bigger but Melton Mowbray is three miles away.

The take away service is great if caravanners don't want to cook

We will be going back to this site next year

Fantastic Site. Made to feel very welcome. Security involved high gates with push button codes.

No local pubs but a bar on site with free wifi, tv, dvd hire and pool table.

Fishing on site around 7 lakes allowed Day Fishermen with supervised children but the caravan area was exclusively adults with serviced pitches and grass for the awnings.

Great access to field for dog walking.

Eight washrooms underfloor heated and individual. Included a shower, a loo, a sink, a hairdryer and plenty of room to move around.

Washing up block equally immaculate.

A light aircraft assumedly flown in by owner of field was an unexpected delight landing along side us.

Will definitely re-visit and recommend to everyone.

Added pleasure - Melton Mowbray Pork Pies

Just spent two weeks on this site. The staff were very friendly and help full, the toilets were the best I have seen, I loved the privacy they gave you. The only down side was there were not enough of them if the site was busy. The pitches were tarmac and well serviced however the grassy area for the awning did not drain well thus we found it for the most part unusable. However that said I would go back (just not pitch 12).

Visited last weekend (before the heatwave, unfortunately!). Extremely impressed with this site - not much more to add to the other reviews in terms of fantastic toilet/shower units (which were lovely and warm on a cold weekend), laundry room with plenty of space for washing up. Fridge and freezer there so you can freeze ice packs, or put burgers in for a BBQ. We forgot to take any bricks for our disposable BBQ but the very friendly man in the clubhouse (Craig I think) found some for us. Breakfast in the clubhouse was very nice and reasonable, and saved trying to cook on the cold mornings. There is space for about 5 or 6 tents, gently sloping ground but wasn't too bad. Only two other tents while we were there so plenty of room to choose where to pitch. Very close to the toilet block. Caravan site on one side and rapeseed oil field on the other side. If you like nature trails, be aware that some of the yellow arrows going off the site lead to dead ends - we put this on our comments form and suggested they create trails and maps for nature lovers. Will definitely visit again, especially when the trees have grown!
