We have been caravanning for 8 years, making 10 or 11 trips each year. This is by far the best site that we have had the pleasure of visiting. Easy to access via the lovely access road via ornamental gates, one gets the feeling of grandeur just driving into the site. The site is immaculately clean, pitches are of a good size and layout, beautifully landscaped. The facilities were in another dimension, the privacy theme was amazing with toilet, sink and shower in the same room with plenty of space was a joy, the underfloor heating and piped music was a welcome bonus. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and cheerful. The clubhouse and it's facilities were amazing especially as there is a dog friendly area. The bar was well stocked and cheaper than my local in Lincoln ! The feeling of tranquillity by the lakes was to die for, we will definitely be booking for next year. Other sites should take a close look at Eye Kettleby Lakes, this is how sites should be. A big thank you to all the staff that gave us such a wonderful experience.

We stayed last week and found staff very helpful and facilities excellent--toilet and shower facilities were clean and outstanding--one little gripe about grey waste emptying point would have been better lower to wheel waste hog into instead of lifting but all in all brilliant--we would reccomend fish and chips on wednesday eat in bar area and they supply plates and condiments and they wash up--we enjoyed so much weve booked another week in november

We couldn't have chosen a better site for our very first outing with a caravan. The booking system was easy and we were sent lots of information beforehand. Upon arrival we were made very welcome and given more information including local places to eat, how far away they were and the cost of a taxi to get there.
We opted for a fully serviced pitch which backed on to open fields with Goldfinches, Linnets and Pied Wagtails in the hedgerows. There were lovely walks around the fishing lakes and the breakfast served in the clubhouse was a perfect start to the day.
The shower and toilet facilities were clean and warm and Radio 2 played as you showered.
We will be visiting the associated sites and will certainly return to Eye Kettleby.

Our first visit and it was everything the excellent reviews said. We had a super pitch, level and well kept. All the facilities were very good, wonderful dog walks round fields and lakes and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A special mention for the shower/toilet facilities which were the best we have ever experienced. They were individual modules, large, clean and warm with local radio (good for local news and travel). There was a double shower unit, hand basin, toilet, seating and drying area with hair dryer and mirror. Fabulous! We went to Melton Mowbray on Tuesday where there was a large second hand/antique market, good normal market and some nice shops. We booked our 3 westies into Uplands Farm Boarding Kennels for the day and was very happy with their service too. A really pleasant stay -if you want this area definitely try Eye Kettleby, you won't be disappointed, indeed many fellow caravaners had been several times before and first timers were definitely coming back as will we.

Our second visit of the year to this great site. Due to late booking got the last pitch - on the outer top rows. BUT - no hardship at all. OK gravel pitch rather than tarmac, and no on-pitch water drainage, but at £3. 50 a night less than the de-luxe pitches and still close to all facilities, again not complaining! Indeed had open view over countryside.
During summer they lay on mid-week entertainment, with optional fish and chips delivered to site; they provide the plates and wash up - brilliant! Entertainment not great, and had better fish and chips, but concept is great. Do similar with take away meals on Fridays, although we had other arrangements.
A quiet visit to Rutland Water and Oakham this time - a nice lazy day, although car parking in Oakham is certainly not visitor friendly. Selection of small shops, but no large retailers - guess that's how they keep the place quaint but expensive! Gates Garden Centre is worth a look with a very nice coffee shop.
As always site staff were very friendly and helpful. Can recommend the breakfasts in the restaurant by Reception - excellent - the perfect way to finish your stay before heading home!
We will definitely be back next Spring.

Beautiful countryside and fantastic sanitary units. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are various events in the clubhouse during the week, so lots of chance to socialise with fellow Campers. The Cattle market in Melton Mowbray on Tuesdays is well worth a visit.
Most places have a 'noise deadline' at 22. 00, here it is extended to 23. 00, possibly because the site is adult only. This lead to it being noisy in the evenings, there were also cars driving onto the site after midnight, making an early night impossible.
Definitely a site to recommend.

We have come back to caravanning after a long time away and looking on UKCampsite.co.uk we tried Eye Kettleby, what a joy to find a clean well run and friendly place for our first outing, we were very impressed with everything they had to offer, the reception and bar area are very friendly places to be, our biggest problem is trying to book in again, they are so popular but we managed to get in for 5 days in August, the toilets are the cleanest we have ever seen on a campsite, the lakes and surrounding areas are most impressive, I thoroughly recommend that you give them a try, there is loads of places to visit locally and Leicester or Nottingham are not far away

Been to this a few times and love it. The toilet block with heated tiled floor could put many good hotels to shame. There is a nice washing up area and free use of the fridge freezer. The food is excellent and although we didn't plan to we had a full English each morning.
Location is good for us as we don't like being near towns but there is nothing for about 3 miles if you plan a walk into Melton town.
Staff are always helpful and friendly.
If I could change one thing I would add a wooden table/chairs (like they have round the lake) to each of the tent pitches which are large enough to allow this. We travel a lot by motorcycles and taking table and chairs is not an option. Certainly not a major issue and wont stop our next visit.
At the moment the site where the tents are is a little exposed being on the top of the hill but the hedges planted a couple of years ago between pitches are growing well and will be excellent in a few more years giving more privacy and shelter.
Its in our top 5 sites we have stayed in whilst travelling round Europe over the last 20 years.

Our third visit to this lovely site. It was very busy but did not feel crowded and no problems getting to use one of the superb individual bathrooms. The site is maturing nicely and is well maintained. The club house is friendly and the breakfasts excellent. The weather was awful but we still enjoyed a visit to Melton on market day. Also managed a walk in the Country Park in between rain showers. There were lots of fisherman on site but we still managed to find people to chat to when out strolling with the dog.
Think we might try other 'Tranquil Parks' we were given a brochure when checking in.

We have just returned from our second stay on this lovely site. It is the best site we have stayed on, we Just love it.
The toilet and showers are to a very high standard, in fact its fair to say they are hotel standard. The site is situated in lovely Leicestershire countryside with loads of space to walk the dogs. The pitches are beautifully kept and spacious. The clubhouse is a log cabin and is a gentle stroll from the caravan site. We were made to feel very welcome with our two dogs, the staff are very friendly and courteous and it makes for a relaxing environment to have a drink. One word to sum it up, tranquillity. All in all we would highly recommend this site
