Spent a week on the site. The facilities are first class, although my wife would have preferred separate Male & Female Shower facilities.
The site itself was overall quiet.
The site does not have the feel of a fully fledged Caravan Site, but that of a side line to other interests, which it is.
During the week we were there nearly all the other vans were occupied by fisherman, who were up & out very early & returned at dusk. This was OK other than we hardly spoke to anyone else on site all week.
The Clubhouse staff were fine & always available.
I doubt we would return due to the artificial feel of the site.

Our second visit to this brilliant site - and at short notice. Despite poor weather the site was full, so we were lucky to get the last pitch - and a decent pitch too. As others have said, it's a good location for walking, but just that bit too far to head into Melton without the car. A Saturday minibus shuttle would pay them!
Reception was busy, but a lady from the clubroom. Restaurant came to our rescue and we got booked in quite quickly and lead a procession to the caravan site. Melton has a market on Saturday - worth a look. No major chain stores in the town, but you can get everything necessary; some nice tea rooms - try Miss B's. Not cheap, but very good. Paring in the town was easy and reasonable (£3. 30 all day).
Visited Foxton Locks on Sunday - fascinating to watch the procession of boats going up and down the chain, whilst the Foxton Locks Inn provided a very good lunch.
Saturday evening there was country and western singer in the bar. She was pretty good, so the extra charge for weekend pitches was worth while. Also wi-fi in the club-house.
Facilities on site well up to standard expected.
We will certainly return again.

Second visit, third already booked. Lovely site, Adult only, spotless showers/loos. Clubhouse brilliant, you really have to have at least one of their breakfasts, excellent value for money, piping hot, gorgeous. Only thing that stops us visiting more often is the location to the town, we love walking into the local area for an early doors drink, perhaps a meal in a local restaurant but it is miles too far to do this, taxis cost us £8. 50 one way and £8 to come home, which makes it an expensive trip out. Unusually they do not have wifi to the touring site, everyone has these days!, although it is available free in the club house. Lots of pluses to this lovely quiet site but a couple of niggles also. Everyone you meet though has always got a friendly face and we feel very comfortable here.

A truly wonderful site very relaxing with the water fountain in the middle of the lake (which they do turn off at night )
The showers and toilet block are immaculate and really five star and the radio on is lovely while your showering etc
Lovely place for walking around the fishing lakes, the club house is set out lovely if you just wish to sit and use the free Wifi not made to feel you should be purchasing refreshments Fish and chip night on the Monday was great and the fish and chips were really good quality. We did quiz night and won the top prize of £30. Which we made good use of using for Dinner the next evening at the Royal Oak in Great Dalby good food great service
We have booked to come back in May 2015 and the great thing is if you wish to holiday with family or friends who don't do caravanning they can book a lodge
Fantastic place.

Just returned from the first of what is now to be many visits to this lovely site with the friendliest staff. We echo all of the previous reviews about the facilities and the cleanliness, but for us it was the thoughtfulness of the other things on offer which put it above other caravan sites. The booking in system is fabulous and the clubhouse is great. We loved fish and chip Wednesday and will sample takeaway Friday next time. It was most relaxing to wander around the beautiful lakes and have drink and a chat with fellow caravanners in a bar which welcomed dogs. We highly recommend this site.

In a word, fabulous! Lovely spacious pitches that will be quite private when the trees/shrubs mature (see pic). The showers are 5-star-plus as has been noted by others. The only issue we had was our awning. The pitches are still relatively new and we couldn't get rock pegs to anchor securely on the gravel area. It's only a cheap lightweight porch awning, so as it was pretty windy we ended up taking it down as it was repeatedly pulling pegs out. I assume that as time goes on the ground will compact more so that won't be a long term problem. We had a super-pitch with all services; water, drain, TV (you need an adaptor to connect aerial cable to socket but they have them in the shop for a couple of quid). It looks as if the cheaper pitches round the back also have their own water supply, but perhaps not TV. They're on a hardcore hardstanding rather than Tarmac - I'd say they're great value.

Stayed here for 3nights covering St Patricks weekend. We have visited here before & the site is looking even better know that it maturing. Our fully serviced pitch was excellent & allowed us plenty of room. The arrival & reception is of good quality & we were greeted very well & everything was explained to us including places in the local area. The site is kept in pristine condition & the showers and toilets are some of the best I have seen. There was entertainment & food laid on Saturday evening which cost extra but the food was really good, the entertainment was average. All in all a very nice weekend on a lovely site.

This is a fantastic site, wonderful pitches and layout and luxury individual shower units.
We stayed here to visit the NEC for the Camping Show, we need to return for a break to check out Melton Mowbray.
The site has a Clubhouse which has friendly staff and allows you to book a takeaway to be delivered to the pub! The even do the washing up.
They only thing I can fault about the site is that as it's so good, it will probably be fully booked!

I found this site on UKCampsite.co.uk. It is one of the nicest adult only touring sites we have ever visited. We loved the setting ideal for dog walking and relaxation. Although we didn't use the bar on this occasion it did look very nice. We might have gone for a cooked breakfast but found the time served up until 10am a little too early for us. The toilets and site itself is of the best quality we have ever stayed on. Everything was so clean and spotless. It was fabulous to have a shower room with the combined facility of shower, basin and loo. And even though it's been freezing this weekend it was very warm and pleasant in the showers. Also loved having the added bonus of a radio playing in the background.
We didn't use the laundry but I peeped in and again exceptional standards.
Takeaways deliver to the site. There are menus in reception for a local one (Jasmine House) and we ordered a meal from them on our first evening on site. They charged us £3.50 to deliver to the site. And indeed delivered to our pitch. We found the food ok. But must say a little disappointing. However last night we ordered with our Friends a meal from another local one called 'Dim Sum' and had the most fabulous meal, it was one of the best we have had on our travels, and they didn't charge us for delivering to the site. Def give it 10 out of 10.
This is a site we will def be going back to. Loved it and highly recommend it. If you are looking for a nice site with fishing lakes and high quality facilities you won't be disappointed. Easy access to Melton too.

This was one of the best sites we have visited. The site was very well set out and maintained. It included several good sized fishing lakes. Our pitch had all we needed although on a slight slope. There were toilet blocks nearby and in addition, individual shower/toilet 'suites', which made us feel special.
The staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. The shop was tiny but well stocked. The bar was comfortable and we were treated to some lovely singing by a local duo.
Melton Mowbray was a bit too far to walk as one of us was recovering from an op. A bit disappointing but nevertheless, this was a first rate site which more than compensated for the inconvenience.
