A very well run and friendly site, ideal for tents, caravans & motor homes alike. The site has a lovely fishing lake and
Picnic tables also the site has lovely grassy areas and the owners are more than helpfully so no one will feel over crowded. The shower and toilet block are spotless.
The site has a barrier for exit /entrance for added security but it is a safe and very relaxing site. The usual large shops are to be found only one mile away at Monks Cross and easy access to York city centre. However, the site is rural and great to have the best of both worlds. A site worth a visit if you need to relax and enjoy York and its many attractions.

Just arrived home after five relaxing days on Wagtail Park. The site was very quite and dog friendly. The facilities were excellent and in the middle of the park was a fishing lake. Charlie (the dog) had a great time playing ball because he had the field to himself. We saw the park owners every day no matter what the weather was like. Wagtail Park is ideal to use as a base as it is only a short car journey from York, Thirsk, Harrogate and the coast.

Visited this site over a snowy weekend in January and thoroughly enjoyed it. Easy access and spacious pitches. We booked as we wanted to visit York and this site is perfectly situated for that.
The pitch was very flat, only a minor adjustment on the jockey wheel to get level. The owners where friendly and helpful and visited the site regularly during the day. The facilities where spotless and warm with hot showers which were nice and powerful too. The site on the whole was very well kept with a stocked fishing lake.
When we arrived there was no snow but that soon changed. After the first night we woke up to 5-6 inches of snow which only added to our enjoyment. The only downside was the water supplies freezing up and having to fill our aquaroll from the washing up tap, but given the weather it's understandable. However the owner did say he has plans to stop this happening as he opens all year. On the whole a very pleasant stay and definitely a site to visit again.

We stayed here for 7 nights and we would totally recommend this site. Fishing lake is beautiful (even though we had rain most of the week). Washrooms were spotless and nice and large. Owner on site 2 or 3 times a day. Really friendly and helpful. Park and Ride really useful. 5 mins drive away and if you are of an age to have a bus pass, it costs just 60p return to the absolutely wonderful City of York. Very regular buses. In the same area as the Park and Ride is a large Asda and quite a few other large shops.
The only downsides I can think of is the water in the showers was not hot enough (but that was my preference) and if they had hardstandings it would make it one of the best sites I have been to (and I have been to a lot)

What a well kept lovely site, large pitch, the best kept toilets and showers we have ever seen, no matter what time of day they were always spotless. The warden was a great help giving us all the places of interest and being on site often to make sure all was running well, the fishing lake is beautiful not just to fish, but to stroll round to see the local wild life. The dog walk is fantastic very dog friendly for well behaved dogs. Loved the peace and quiet, but close to all the shops pubs and fish shops. The local pub restaurant in Huntington was recommended by Peter and what a delight we are booking for NewYear with friends at Wagtail and having Newyears dinner at the Black Bull on recommendation from Peter what a great site cant wait to go back

Just had a 2 night break at this site and really enjoyed it. The warden was helpful and knowledgeable, allowing us to arrive on site as early as we wanted due to it being a quiet weekend, and at the end of our stay he didn't chase us off at a certain time!
We were provided with a barrier card and key for the shower/toilet block on arrival and advised where to pitch our tents. The showers and toilets were immaculate throughout our stay, with plenty of hot water at any time, and there were lights dotted around so we didn't need our torch for night time walks to them. There were good washing up facilities under cover, again with plentiful hot water.
The site really is in a beautiful setting with a fishing lake in the middle of it where we saw numerous large fish being caught. Had a trip into Malton and also to Eden Camp while we were here, both within easy driving distance.
The only downside to this site is the road noise, which we did get used to, and I wouldn't let it put me off going to what is a lovely campsite again! Will definitely return.

Had 3 days at wagtail park caravan park. The shower block and toilets were very clean as were the camp. Personally I thought it was a bit over priced considering the camp was very basic. If you like fishing the lake was very good. But on the negative side I would have thought considering the price we had to pay, the fishing would be free, considering we were residents on the site. The fee was £3. 00 a day, other sites the fishing is free. Overall the camp is nice and quiet apart from a little traffic noise and the shops are not that far away. I don't think we will be returning as there are better sites with more outdoor activities and free fishing.

We have just been to this site for a long weekend and we really didn't want to leave. Upon arrival the owner Peter show us to our pitch which was very spacious.
The showers/toilets are the best we have ever used. My husband didn't take his fishing tackle but says we will return because the fishing look fantastic. The owner did offer to lend his which was a lovely touch.
The location is only a couple of miles from Monks Cross park n ride into York which we used a couple of times.
Overall we cant fault this site in any way and will definitely return

What a find! From the moment we entered the gates we were made to feel welcome.
The toilet block and showers were the best I have ever been to.
The size of the site is perfect not too big and the fishing lake is beautiful we were sited overlooking it.
The warden could not have been more helpful throughout our weeks stay giving help and advice plus information about the local area.
We loved it so much we booked for next year before we left.
Thank you Wagtail Park see you next year.

Lovely site with lovely owners, not full of rules and regulations like some of the sites we have stayed on. A nice relaxed approach, just respect the people around you.
The toilets and showers were lovely and very clean, the site itself is really well maintained, the fishing lake is lovely to look out on or have a wander round.
Location is really handy for the supermarket, 5 minns drive away, and although we didn't go into York, the park and rise is close by if you want to, we were given details of all the times for the park and ride, and local shopping on arrival.
Really highly recommended, to the point where I almost don't want to post this so we can just keep it for ourselves to go to.
