Excellent reception from site owner who met us on arrival.
Beautiful site, well planned and plenty of space. Facilities superb - best toilet blocks ever.
We loved this site and will definitely be back.
Security excellent and very well organised.
Fishing lake beautiful.
Not far from many key tourist locations and shopping in the area is excellent, even though you are deep in the countryside.
The owners have arranged for taxi discounting to various locations close by and present up to date menus for local restaurants etc along with entertainment nearby.
Cleanliness of facilities superb.
This is a very friendly, relaxed and well organised and kept site. First class.

Just had 2 wonderful days/nights at this terrific park!
The pitches are not crowded (there were 18 of the 22 pitches used) and still didn't feel crowded at all.
The toilets/showers are by far the best we've been on. Well laid out and very clean (even with 18 teenagers staying 2 days in 4 camper vans).
The fishing lake is wonderful to look out over and to walk around.
Very little road noise.
We will visit again and soon!

Wagtail park site certainly wagged our tails. On our arrival we were meet by Peter owner / warden who was very friendly and helpful. We had a positive first impression of the site - all grass but spacious pitches. With a picturesque fishing lake.
With the recent flooding and torrential rain we were a bit twitchy about the possibility of our motorhome getting bogged down. Our fears were soon allayed when Peter highlighted the ground was solid and it would be unlikely that we would get stuck. He was spot on - no problems whatsoever.
Toilet blocks were spotless 10 out of 10 here.
Albeit Wagtail is outside of York centre the Park and Ride facility which was about 10 mins. Away was readily available.
Would we return? Certainly! Thanks Peter for a superb time.

Just got back from our second visit to this gem of a site. It has everything you could want, clean modern facilities, toilets, washing up sinks, security and a fishing lake for the boys.
The site is near to monks cross shopping centre and a park and ride. The site is peaceful and relaxing.
Peter as always is very friendly and helpful, and is always looking at ways to improve your camping experience. We can, t wait to go back.

This is a great caravan park we found it by chance last year and have been back 6/7 times since
Warden is really friendly and nothing is to much trouble he is happy to help you with any thing even has time for a chat and to let his dogs have a play with Charlie our dog
The toilets and showers are always clean and tidy
The site is nice and quiet and close to all shops, there a Toby Carvery just up the road, there is also a park and ride close by
So while us female shoppers enjoy our day shopping in York we know the men will be having fun fishing on the first class fishing lake

Went here back in may what a gem of a site, so handy for York and Monks cross shopping park and also the park and ride!
Owner really helpful!
If your here you need to drive I would not advise walking along north lane its used as a cut through from the A1237 to the A64 and is very busy and very fast!
Also if you are heading towards leeds from here go to the A1237 then to the Hopgrove roundabout, we tried to turn right from North Lane on to the A64 towards Leeds and took over 18 minutes to turn out due to constant heavy traffic and congestion on the A64!
A great site though will be back

Just returned from our second visit to Wagtail. It is just pitch perfect. Alas the weather could have been better but it did not spoil our stay.
As on our previous visit site facilities are excellent at all times.
All that has been said about the site is true and once visited like ourselves people will want to return.
As before Peter is always there to be of help.
Nothing is too much bother.
A good reminder for this site is to have rock pegs helpful items.
I cannot wait until my next visit.

As a complete novice camper this was all new to me last week. There were 5 of us that went camping for the first time.
We booked this site because of its closeness to York and what that offers. Although the weather was quite soggy we still had a good time. We had 2 pitches next to each other and the owner was massively helpful bringing us boards and bricks for in front of our tents.
The showers/toilets were really clean and really nice. The site was nice and quiet and we could come and go as we pleased. There was a card for the barrier entrance which made the park secure at night.
We found the Blacksmiths pub in Huntington very nice, with excellent food and friendly service. They did not mind us bringing the dog in which a lot of pubs in York seemed to have issue with.
The site is about a 10min drive into York, which is approx £12 in a taxi. If the weather had of been nicer we would of walked into Huntington for the pub, but the taxis were about £7.50 one way. In nicer weather it would be about a 15min walk.
I would definitely come to this site again, even in the rain! Only thing which might annoy some people is traffic noise as it is very close to the ring road, but in a caravan I don't think this would be an issue. I had earplugs in the tent so slept soundly.
We will be back!

We have just enjoyed an Easter weekend camp at this site. We went electrical hook-up in our tent for three nights.
The site is the quietest site we have stayed at and the noise from the road wasn't an issue.
The owner, is friendly, helpful and does anything he can to make you comfortable and enjoy your stay.
The facilities were warm, well looked after and cleaned regularly. Keys are issued to site users to ensure the facility is not abused.
The fishing lake kept the men and kids amused for a few hours while we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the site.
There were three large washing up sinks which were under cover but in a bit of a wind tunnel so it was a bit chilly but bearable.
The site is child friendly but not commercially spoiled by swings and slides.
The site was used by camper vans, caravans and tents and the atmosphere was friendly and calm.
We were comfortable, warm and had a great weekend. We will definitely return to this site.

Just returned from our first visit to Wagtail park and it will not be our last. What a fantastic site which has to be the quietest and one of the best sites we have visited.
The site is clean and the facilities have to the best we have experienced. The toilets and showers are spotless as are the washing up facilities. The owner has thought of everything and those little things that can annoy you on some sites have all been added.
The site has a lovely lake which is very well kept. The site has a security barrier and you get a key to the toilets so you always feel secure.
The owner has to be one of the nicest, most helpful genuine guys we have every meet. Nothing is too much trouble and he is always about if you need him. He gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and local places to eat.
We will definitely be going again and we wish all the success he deserves.
