Easy to get to from the A64, this site is well landscaped and quite attractive. It has a good dog walk.
The facilities were clean.
The site was tidy. Good fishing in the pond which has a good variety of species and is very well looked after. I caught bream tench and carp.
Wagtail park has a good location near to the park and ride into York and the large Monks Cross shopping centre.
I enjoyed my stay and I will revisit.
The only downside is the lack of a footpath to walk from the site so the car is needed but it’s near enough to York to use taxis which were reasonably priced. There are takeaways nearby which deliver to the site barrier.
Good site, recommended.

Fabulous pitches and very well maintained.
Brilliant meet and greet from Pete who always gives the best advice.
Fishing is also great and son and husband just disappeared for a few very successful sessions.
Toilet black and showers are also clean and well kept.
Plenty of room for washing up and recycling.
Fab place!
Maybe if you are in a pop top bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper as there is some early morning traffic noise - nothing major!
Perfect for an Uber into York or the park and ride!

Nice, open site. A convenient spot if you want to visit York.
Showers were great, although I would have expected to have a spot to load my powerbank - not a socket to be found. Luckily Peter allowed me to use one at an unused camping pods for this.
The only real setback were the roads nearby. You could hear the traffic all night long. The area wasn't suitable for hiking either.
It was the most expensive camping I stayed during this vacation.

It was freezing and snowy but a lovely warm welcome by owner, who was very helpful with recommendations and local taxi firms,
Unfortunately some of the water pipes were frozen, expected due to low temperature,
Great location 10 minute taxi into York.

This is our second trip to this campsite.
As always we were warmly welcomed by the owner.
It's a convenient location just on the outskirts of the city.
Very quiet and clean facilities.

Immaculately laid out and organised site with controlled entry.
Sheltered by trees, shrubs and hedges, which house songbirds and owls and which are most pleasant to stroll amongst. Not to mention watching the ducks on the fishing pond. Spacious, heated and spotless washrooms, though with 2 showers and 2 cubicles, it might be a struggle if the site was heavily-occupied.
However, it was Sept Bank Holiday when we went, there were several visitors and no issue at all.
In fact, every visitor we encountered was pleasant and courteous, as is Peter himself.
Added bonus of a short and quick drive to the Park and Ride and Toby Carvery.
