What a lovely site with very friendly owners including their 2 dogs
We wanted somewhere to try our new oakland xl tent and found this site, luckily the weather was quite nice for February so we had no rain but saying that the ground was a bit soft and around our tent did get a bit muddy after 2 days of walking in and out.
The site itself is set around a fishing lake with both electric and no electric parts of the park. They cater for caravans/motorhomes and tents.
The best pitches in our view would be 19 -22 which have lake views and are the ones you see on the website picture, we were on pitch 3 to the side of the field next to the toilet. Pot wash block.
Shower, toilet blocks were spotless they have 2 massive showers with changing area and 3 toilets in the ladies with 3 sinks, hand dryer and also a hairdryer for 20p. Mens were the same but with urinal. They also have a fishermans toilet which you can use if you forget your key to open the main tiolets.
Potwash there are 3 sinks which are undercover and have plenty of hot water but are open at both ends so it is a bit chilly while doing the dishes. Would of been better if one side was closed off or had doors on both ends.
All in all it is a lovely site and we will return if we could get a pitch on the front with lake views.

Having just spent 3 nights at wagtail park I felt I must review the site
The facilities are really good, warm shower/toilet block only built last year with facilities second to none and kept really clean.
Peter is a really nice guy and cant do too much for you.
Staying at Wagtail enables you to visit the two clubs in Huntingdon one a working mans club the other a sports club.
The blacksmiths arms serves good food but you need to book.
Monks cross is a 5 minute drive for park and ride or shops.
The fishing looks good saw a few fishermen catch

Stayed for 3 nights for New year, this is our second stay on this well cared for site.
The owner looks after you as much as he does the site, which only opened this year. Although the weather had been very wet the site is pretty well drained and the toilets were always kept immaculate.
It is near to the park and ride at Monks cross as well as the shopping centre.
The small lake is also an attraction if you are into angling as I am and even though this time of year is not the best time, the fish were still biting.
In all honesty this is one of the best sites we have stayed on if you like clean facilities but like some tranquillity this site may be for you. There is some road noise but where isn't there?

We have just stayed on this site for our 'new years eve' campervan escape & had a v enjoyable 2 nights.
Fantastic site, very helpful & friendly owner-
Bathrooms warm, clean and extremely well kept. Everything in working order. A key is given per family - but the same one fits male & female units. Hot showers x 2 in each unit, hairdryer, sinks and 3 loos.
The bathroom cleanliness was exceptional given wet & muddy outside- not a hint of the usual grass etc usually found in campsite shower blocks - I always felt like I must be the first user after cleaning ! Well done wagtail park !
We found the grass a little bit boggy in places, but couldn't complain as it really had rained a lot. The grass was neat and tidy as was the entire site. Orderly bins (recycle etc) and nice washing up area. Everything is excellent !
Used location to hit the New Year sales via park & ride bus (excellent and has motor-home section too)
Number 9 bus to get back. Catch back outside m&s!
Owner recommended a Chinese & ordered delicious take away for NewYearEve.

We have just spent a weekend at this lovely site. Peter, the owner, could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
Facilities, toilets, showers and dishwashing areas, were spotless - although I guess considering the 'sogginess' of our pitch, clothes washing facilities would not have gone amiss.
We were probably a little unlucky as we arrived just after the North American hurricane passed through so everything was very wet, and consequently muddy.
Dog friendly, with a nice short walk around the site. If you want anything further you'll need to drive first.
Location is great if you want to visit York - we were meeting friends from Scotland and it was a good half way point for us both. Very close to Monks Cross shopping area, although walking there with dogs would have been scary as the roads are very busy.
There is some road noise at night, which was to be expected as it's just off the main York orbital route.
There's an Indian takeaway which was happy to deliver, which was fine, although not the finest we'd ever had - pretty cheap though.

This site was spotless. The owner couldn't do enough to help us when we arrived. The toilet block [male female] spotless. Great fishing lake - didn't try this trip, as got grandkids so a bit tricky. Ideal for getting to York centre and all surrounding areas. The site has a very good washing area for doing your pots pans etc. And is also spotless. I could go on. Its only been open from March this year and is reasonably priced considering all that is available. Give this site a visit you wont be disappointed. We will be going this year hopefully to fish.

We found this Little Gem of a site quite by accident and had a very friendly greeting by the owners.
The site is a delight to the eye with large well kept grass pitches, well thought out planting with owl boxes, picnic tables and a nice walk around the on site fishing lake. They also have the biggest lawned dog walk I have ever seen.
The toilets and wet rooms were always spotlessly clean.
No designated play area yet but the pitches all face a large central field so you can keep an eye on the children.
Just a short drive into York, I would certainly return to this Park.

What a great site, pitches are level and the grass is cut short, although the ground is hard under the grass so suitable pegs are required for awnings.
The toilet block is immaculate and there is an information board inside with useful numbers for taxis (inc, set prices to York Centre) etc.
Peter the owner could not be more helpful and is around during the day to give advise or help with things to do.
I shall be visiting again without fail.
The site is about half a mile from the Park and Ride at Monks Cross, where the bus takes you into town for £2. 20 return. There is an overheight parking area just outside the car park, so if you have a motorhome or car and top box you press a button and the barrier swings open to let you in.
On the site there is a very good fishing lake(man made) stocked with plenty of fish.
We had a takeaway delivered to the site from the chinese advertised, this was very enjoyable.

We stayed here on the way down to France. We had been at Beechwood Grange (across the hedge from Wagtail) for one night, but they were full, and the warden advised us to head round the corner to Wagtail. We were delighted with this site. The toilet block is really quite luxurious, and absolutely pristine. A stroll around the lake provides a nice limbering up before the short trip to the park and ride into York.
But by far the most impressive aspect of this site is the owner, who really goes out of his way to make everyone welcome. He gave us a lift to the park and ride, and also lent me a dongle to get online during our stay.
Whilst there, we visited York Minster (of course), and went to Jorvik, then had a very pleasant g&t down by the river.
We liked the campsite so much that we visited it again on our return journey, receiving the same hospitality as before, even though we turned up at the gate at 8pm, with no prior booking.
We will definitely stay here again.

I only need a few words to describe this great site.
We spent a week there with 2 older teenage boys, it's in an ideal central location for lots to do in the area - which could be from quietly fishing by the site lake to all out racing at the nearby Kart Track!
Shower blocks are immaculate and it's a lovely peaceful site, well thought out and plenty of room for your rig.
The weather wasn't great but the ground didn't get boggy at all.
The Warden & his two dotty spaniels cant help you enough! Thanks for a great week.
