Peter was ace (the site owner), gave us a tour of the site upon checking in.
Did not utilise the fishing but I saw a few people there so there must be some fish in the lake!
Clean site with clean bathrooms,
Will definitely visit again if in the area!

Lovely site! Highly reccomended!
Clean shower rooms & toilets! Dog friendly and there is a lovely dog walk! Fishing lake is really good, now fenced off to reduce risk of otters!
Subtle lighting at night, hard and soft standing, ehus! Very close to shops and York!
This site has everything for adults, children welcome but no play area as such however plenty of grass!

My Wife and I just spent another great relaxing week at Wagtail Park with my Cousin and his Wife and my Aunt, and while my Mrs relaxed and read, I had a week of great fishing with my Cousin & my Aunt, we must have caught just about every Barbel in the lake, but the lake offers almost every breed of Fish to keep all anglers happy, we must have caught well over 200 fish in the week, we lost count, and Pete couldn't be more helpful.
The site is close to all local amenities, Thompson's Fish & Chips (Recommended), is only a mile down the A64, then the Blacksmith's Arms in Huntington, (Recommended), allows your Dog into the Bar area, then there's all the major Superstores with shopping centre close by, then there's "York Tackle" at "Yarburgh Way" only 10 mins from Wagtail for your fishing needs, all in all, there's everything you'll need that will help make for a great week.
The amenities on the Site are excellent, with shower and toilet block, with a separate disabled toilet and shower, there's a separate toilet for when you're fishing, there's waste water disposal, and chem toilet disposal, plenty fresh water points, and every pitch has an electric hook up.
All in all, Wagtail Park is highly recommended, and I give it a 100% rating.

We had a lovely 5-day stay here during York's Viking festival week. The site manager was very accommodating and even let us arrive a day early when I was able to wangle extra time off work. He had lots of suggestions for where to visit locally, we went to Eden Camp, Barley Hall and the Richard III experience.
The facilities were spotless, and even though the shower had a fixed temperature and a fixed shower head, it was perfect in both regards! At £20 per night including electricity for Two of us in a caravan, I would recommend it.

Just returned from a weeks holiday with friends. It’s a lovely site. It’s central for visiting York or any of the 3 retail outlets nearby.
The site is clean with very friendly people running it. The showers were always clean & hot. Plenty of fresh water taps.
Hubby and friend loved the fishing.
We will all definitely return.

We’ve stayed here twice now and I don’t think we’ll be back. Firstly I will say that the toilet and shower block are nice, modern and clean.
The pitches themselves are level and spacious but the only water supply was a long way from where we were. The site is quiet with minimal traffic noise. As for the site, it just seemed scruffy and unfinished.
Huge mounds of earth presumably from excavation of some sort make parts of it look like a building site. There is no office and on arrival we had to phone the warden to come from somewhere and let us on. The warden was not the friendliest we’ve ever met, We felt he talked down to us.
We had two friends stay with us for the second night and the warden insisted it would be an extra £10. My hubby (Andy) had seen on their website that it was £5 for the two of them. This resulted in the warden getting his phone out and telling andy he was wrong.
Andy then did the same and told the warden he was wrong. The warden was arguing - yes ARGUING that the it was £10 and that the bit Andy was looking at was wrong. In the end we said we were paying a fiver and that was that! He begrudgingly took our money and walked off mumbling about getting the website price changed immediately.
The site is ok, but only ok. There’s nothing to do within walking distance and there’s no bus route so it’s drive or taxi!

Just had a very relaxing week here. About 10 mins from York by car but two minutes to park and ride. Clean well looked after site.
Toilet block was excellent cleaned every morning. Pond looked good with otter fence around it but didn't try it.
The only downside, and it is not the sites fault at all, is the small road leading to the site is used as a short cut to get onto A64 and some cars come down there at some speed.

Just spent another lovely week on wagtails York. Absolutely lovely. Piece and quiet. Nice facilities.
Good fishing pond, well stocked and fencing all around to keep the children from falling in. Nice people that own it and always there to help if required. It's not a massive site but it's clean and tidy.
The toilet and shower facilities are second to none. I would say give it a shot it's great to visit York and the rest of the shopping areas.
What I will say is 10 out of 10. This is a very good site.

Just spent 4 days at this campsite, great location for visiting York, managed to take in 3 national trust houses all within 15 mins drive of the campsite,
Toilet block spotless, and a lovely fishing lake,
Monkscross shopping centre 5 mins away, Asda, Aldi, M&S, Sainsburys, park n ride into york all there,
Working mans club admission free whilst staying, on site taxi service available to where ever,
Can't fault it.
