We have stayed before, this time with our Daughter (& family). They were tenting, we were in Motorhome. Prices reasonable - £20pn (ALL year) - includes Electricity and immaculate facilities. Within easy reach of Monks Cross shopping centre and 'Park & Ride' into York. Slight road noise but site beautifully maintained with a fishing lake. Definitely going back!

Used site to stay whilst visiting friends close by. A very nice and clean site. Facilities were very clean and the owners made us very welcomed and could not be more helpful. Lovely walk for our dog and close to shopping centers. Ideal for anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing site. Will be coming back again.

This site ticks all the boxes!
Not only does the toilet block get 5 stars from my wife (a rare event!), but the fishing is great, the site is very well kept and run, and good dog walks.
However, the thing that really makes this family run site one of the best is the friendly and helpful owners.
Not only did they offer to purchase fishing bait from local angling shop but ran my wife to the Monks Cross Shopping Centre but brought her back to the site when she had spent up!
I recommend this site to anyone, whether for fishing, proximity to York or just to relax.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Wagtail Park. Excellent facilities and very helpful owners. If taking a tent remember to take rock pegs. Highly recommend Wagtail Park. Underfloor heating in the showers was lovely. The washing up facilities were excellent and included washing up liquid. Two shopping centres nearby which has 3 supermarkets.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Wagtail Park. Booked last minute due to Rowntree Park being flooded. The site is well laid out and the fishing pond added a lovely backdrop. We don't fish so can't comment on how well stocked it was. The shower block is clean, well appointed and warm which was essential as the temperature plummeted whilst we were away. The washing up area had supplies of washing up liquid, cloths and bowls. The ground is grass over gravel I believe which stood up well after the torrential rain the area had suffered over the previous week. The site is handy for Monks Cross shopping and the Park and Ride into York. The site is close to the Ring Road and therefore does suffer from some road noise in the distance. The owners were friendly and informative about the surrounding area if you were new to it. Would definitely return.

Just returned from a lovely week at Wagtail. Not our first visit but it has been a couple of years since we were last there. It was still excellent. All facilities still perfect and some new additions with the very classy ' Pods'. Perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle. As always the friendliness of the owners is second to none. The weather was really good. We walked into Huntington and shopped at Monks Cross, most of the time was spent relaxing. What camping holidays are all about. Hopefully we will not leave it so long before we return.

We've just had a fabulous week at this campsite and will definitely go again, in fact we've just booked one of the camping pods for a weekend break in November. The shower/ toilets are very clean and mops are provided to clean up when you've finished in the shower. The site was nice, quiet and very peaceful, even when the site was full at the weekend.
It was very easy to use the park and ride into York and there were plenty of shops on the nearby shopping centre, with many places to eat.

Wagtail Park is a lovely site, very spacious with large pitch sizes. Toilet/ shower block spotless, large shower cubicles and lots of hot water. My husband loved the fishing and did manage to catch some decent sized fish. Care needs to be taken with very young children, the lake is not fenced off but there is lots of space to run around. There is no reception or shop, which is not a problem at all, the owners are on site regularly, they are lovely and very helpful. There are shopping parks including supermarkets, Vue Cinema which pleased our 17 yr old son and Park & Ride into York nearby, which is so handy. We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Wagtail and we will definitely return, what a gem!

What a nice site Wagtail Park is. We stayed for two nights would have stopped longer if we could. Pete and Brian who own the site were very helpful. They gave us lots of information about york and its attractions. The fishing lake is well stocked. The toilet block and showers were spotless as was the washing up area. The pitches ar flat with plenty of space between them. It is also handy for a nearby shopping centre monks cross. My wife and l would return again. Pete and Karen. Retford

Came here and stayed in the pods, booked last minute so didn't arrive till after 9 and the owners couldn't have done more, even came out late to give us the keys.
Shower block was spotless and always kept clean. The grounds were tidy and well kept too.
One thing to consider is an extra toilet key, as I gave it to the other half and the lady in the female locked me in, so had to sit and wait.
We are going back as we loved every minute.
