Lovely tranquil site. Although quite close to a busy road, we hardly noticed the noise. Great dog walk area on site.
The toilet and shower block were clean and always had hot water.
The owner was really friendly and accommodating and provided a lot of info on the local area.
The Elsan Disposal area could really do with an upgrade though!
This hasn’t put us off, as we will definitely be booking to stay at Wagtail again.

A lovely, quiet site with good facilities, and close enough to the city centre for touristy stuff.
Fairly quiet when I visited, so no queues for (nice, hot) showers and toilets.
I stayed in one of the pods - sockets, lights, heater and a picnic table.
I was travelling as a cyclist - somewhere to securely lock bikes would be a good addition.

A nice site located in a fairly remote location with a shopping centre in walking distance and the ability to travel to York by taxi (£10 each way).
The good points, fishing lake was well kept and busy, site was quiet although some slight road noise.
The not so good points, the facilities are not well kept, the water tap left dangling in the mud, the ELSAN point very messy and not maintained. The showers and toilets not well maintained.
It felt a little unloved and unkempt and could do with a regular maintenance of the facilities.

Well kept fishing lake, very clean and tidy -

Lovely caravan park. Very clean. Showers/ toilet block was accessible with a key and they were very clean and warm, showers were lovely.
Pitches were big and spacious.
We went into York via the park and ride scheme which was very easy and much less hassle than driving into York.
Went to the emmerdale village tour and again it was an easy place to get to from the caravan site.
The hosts explained everything to us when we arrived and couldn’t be friendlier.
Will definitely stay here again as still loads to see and do here in York.

Site a bit further out of York than we initially thought, but site has a deal with a local taxi firm so only £10 each way.
Site staff and taxi staff were very friendly and helpful.
The site was peaceful, and clean.
Facilities were also very clean.

Lovely tranquil site to get away from it all.
Good communication from Peter on the phone before arrival and during our stay. Very welcoming and helpful. Also welcomed by a lady ? Name ? Lyn who settled us in and offered a lot of local knowledge. Felt at home straight away.
Large flat pitches very hard ground (so need a mallet for awning pegs, but the van won’t sink in the winter).
Showers free and plenty of hot water, toilet block very clean as was the washing up facilities. Plenty of bins to recycle.
Fishing lake looks nice but we came to see friends.
York is nearby & cost £10 for 3 adults so not worth packing the van up for park n ride.
Bring ear plugs if road noise bothers you: the ring road can be heard at night in a tent.
