We stayed here for 3 nights last week. Disappointing, we had pitch 83, only just had enough room to get our 12foot 2 berth and awning on. The guy ropes had to be pegged in-between the adjacent trees. We had wanted to try our newly purchased bedroom annex/extension for the awning but there was no room at all to put it up. Directly behind us was the waste skips for the craft centre next door, these were emptied at 7. 30am! All the 'vans needed chocks as the site slopes, quite bad in places.

The shower/toilet block was warm & clean but several cubicles had broken toilet seats. One morning there was a man in the female showers.

Kids were playing football & hide & seek round the vans as late as 10. 15pm. We never saw the manager/warden or anybody on site other than in the office when we paid.

The fees are average, there is just the 2 of us & the dog but if there's 4 adults it bumps the nightly rate up an extra £10, no way is it worth £32 a night for 4 adults.

Location is ideal for Chester or Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet. We also went to Ruthin which is a lovely place. Frodshom is a few minutes by car for all the essentials.

We wouldn't stay again but some people might like sites that are large, sloping and have kids running around unsupervised, but not us.

Well this is my second review for this site which is in our opinion flawless.

We first visited this site in March 2013, returned again in May 2013, and have again booked for May this year.

It's a family and dog friendly site, with plenty to see and do around it.

Staff are excellent and friendly to deal with, booking couldn't be easier.

When we arrive this time there will be one of the site's 'Event' evenings and by all accounts are thoroughly enjoyable. Last year we arrived a day or so after one had taken place and people on site were still raving about it.

The site itself has plenty to do with having two indoor children's play areas and various shops and a micro brewery.

Toilets are clean and bright and the underfloor heating is a nice touch.

Pitches have their own water, electric and waste water (not toilet) disposal point, which is of a premium on most sites.

I think the rates are very reasonable, your getting a lot for your money with this site.

I can highly recommend this site to anyone.

Here for 5days stay as husband wanted to go to oulton park for Superbikes and this was a perfect site. Helpful staff at check in when arrived pitches all laid out really well with a one way system. Showers are fantastic with under floor heating and radio playing are cleaned regularly and key system in operation (10 pound depo when you arrive). Have a 9 year old son and the play area in centre of site is a great time and friends made in no time at all another bonus if you have younger kids is the bar on site has a small play area which is a pound and keeps them amused no end when your chilling with a beer in the evening. I loved the little bric a brac shops all on the site and if your into vintage this is a must visit for you chuffed to bits with my bargain buys I got and the candle shop is wonderful could have spent a fortune. My husband said the hard standing areas were not level but experienced caravan people would not have a problem rock pegs a must though. Small town of Frodsham which is 2miles down the road has everything from banks to takeaways so not a long way to go for milk and a paper. If we are ever up this way again we would definitely use this site again

This is my 3rd stay at lady heyes and may I say every time it gets better. As everyone has already said, the facilities are immaculate, from the warm heated and extremely clean mens toilet / shower room, to the pot washing / washing machine room. And a very big hand to the ever friendly and polite owners who handle the bookings. A big hand to lady heyes. Cant wait to get back asap.

Just returned from our first visit to this excellent campsite today and we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Our two children were never short for anything to do. On site there is a quality outdoor play area of which they had to have at least 20 daily visits, the site also has two indoor play areas.

There are also plenty of other little shops on the land adjacent to the site.

The sites location couldn't be better, 25 minutes away from Chester Zoo, plenty of local pubs which offer excellent food, and various other attractions locally that can be enjoyed by dogs and children.

The camp site is well laid out, pitches offer plenty of room, and are fully serviced.

Toilets and showers are of plenty and never seem too busy or overcrowded, and offer plenty of space, there is also a family shower room which is great for the kids. Also the under floor heating is a very nice touch.

I understand this site is very new, and is already in pretty good shape, we can’t wait to return again to see what changes await us.

I can’t recommend this site enough, good location and well run……. We will be returning again, at least once again this season. So if you are thinking of booking this site, DO IT!

Just returned from a week's stay here and, unfortunately I am out of step with the other reviewers, I disliked it intensely.

I realise that the owners/wardens cannot be held responsible for everything but, I think they are far too lenient with transgressors, as dog mess was in abundance, on Sunday morning I walked around the camping site and there were bottles and cans strewn around and it looked like a bomb site, unforgivable really as there are plenty of bins around.

All week long, a local farmer was muck spreading and I had to go out because the stench was overpowering at times.

My main gripe was that the site and the pitches are on a slope, which wasn't mentioned on the website, my pitch was so bad that I had to buy a step, as the integrated step on my van was left far to high off the ground to be safe. Will I return, NO WAY until things improve greatly, a pity really because the location is superb, but there are sites in the same area offering better value

Great place even when its snowing ! Electric hook up available. Ideal for young families, indoor licensed play area and outdoor park central to most pitches. We were four adults. Enjoyed the hospitality in the bar and us ladies loved the retail outlet which you could spend a full day browsing. Toilets were clean. Showers hot. The camp is a short drive from delamere forest for walks and local pubs selling great food. I feel the camp lacks a shop providing essentials, it was only on our last day there we were told you could purchase milk from the bar. Will definitely stay again this year

We stayed at Lady Heyes between Christmas and New Year 2012, we had recently bought the caravan so didn't want to travel far on our first outing. I can say that the caravan park what excellent, the pitch was hardstanding and fully serviced, it was a little un-level but that was quickly remedied.

The toilet facilities are amazing, it is a swipe card system to get in, they are spotless, warm, gallons of hot water and underfloor heating, amazing.

If you are a resident on the site then there is free access to the kids indoor play area that has a bar and serves coffee, etc. We were never out of the place, it was very welcoming and friendly.

Overall I was really impressed with lady Heyes, everything about the site says professional, there are some lovely views and a number of craft shops to walk around, the only problem is, I compare every other shower facilities with this one, it will be hard to beat.

This was our second visit and although the site was almost full the toilet/shower block was still very clean. The site itself is set out really well, nobody is hemmed in there's enough room surrounding all the pitches. Ok, some of the pitches need a very long waste and fresh water hose to reach the utilities post but once your connected you don't need to worry any more about water until your stay is over. Owner is always super friendly and with him living on site, if you ever need anything he will do his best to help. Over all a very relaxing, enjoyable break every time.

Just got back from our third visit. We haven't been for over twelve months and there have been quite a few changes. The club house is a good addition. It has a big soft play area for the kids. The soft play area does make the seating a bit bizarre as it is all down one side. There was karaoke on the Saturday Night but because of the layout you can't actually see any of the singers, but that is a minor fault. It is good to have somewhere you can have a drink, the jugs of sangria worth a try.

Check in is easy. Showers now have swipe card entry and were clean.

We walked into Frodsham 20 mins downhill stopping off at the Traveller's rest on thr way, seem rude not to, had a walk around the shops, lunch and a beer at the Bears Paw which was excellent and a pint in the Real Ale bar Helter Skelter then taxi back to Lady Heyes. It made for a nice relaxing Saturday.

The biggest disappointment for us this time was not the site but the Bistro. We ate there last time we were at Lady Heyes and the food was tremendous. We booked a table for 7. 45pm and were really looking forward to it. There we 4 adults in our party and we were the only one's in the place. The food this time was completely average and we were all totally gutted after we had eaten.

We will return to Lady Heyes, it is a good site less than an hour from home and in the winter months the added bonus of a club on site is great
