Went to this site for the second time with family for my mothers 60th and brother in laws birthday. We got the same very warm welcome and noticed some of the improvements that were promised last year however the children's play area could still be improved with a little more. We booked a meal in the Bistro and we were overwhelmed by both the service and food quality considering the low costs and even received complimentary Birthday cakes supplied by them. The club house is quite small but extremely cosy and friendly with a small play gym for the children. Alex the Warden is slowly turning this site into a gold mine and is second to none and we have already booked for 2 more visits later in the year. Overall the site comes with my highest recommendations. The only reason for not giving 10's on the Location & Child Friendliness is because you do need your car and as stated the children's play area just needs that little extra.

What a fantastic site, this was the second time we stayed here with friends. And definitely won't be the last.

Good size pitches, the water by the caravan is fantastic, saves the husband from trudging back and forth filling up. The playground is being updated, but our girls where quite happy riding round on their bikes all day.

The shower blocks are better than what we have at home, immaculate, modern and lovely big family/disabled room.

The shops by the entrance to the campsite are fantastic as well, we didn't visit this time but last time we spent a good couple of hours wondering around them, we didn't visit the bistro either (for food, although my friend and I sampled their sangria, amazing).

They have just opened a indoor playarea with a bar for the grownups. Again fantastic.

Cant praise this site enough will be seeing them again soon.

Great site, and apparently getting better if that's possible. The Manager, Alex cant do enough to help. We stayed the first weekend of March. The toilets / shower block is the best I have ever seen! Under floor heating since when do you get this on a camp site! Amazing in a campsite. Immaculately clean.

They had almost finished building a children's outdoor play area, I was told its based around a pirate boat theme but it looked more like castles to me, but then it wasn't finished. Sandpit in it, play house, turrets. My children (4 &5) were extremely happy, I hardly saw them!

There's an on site club house bar - only very small - but the bonus is for children there's an indoor play area in here. So a nice G & T early evening, kids happy playing then to bed = all happy

There's some form of micro brewery thing going on, we didn't sample it but others did and reported it being good. There's also craft places just next to the site which we were going to explore but to be honest the weather was so fab we didn't get round to it. Next time.

It's 5 mins max from Delamere Forest which has sooo much on to do. Apparently, there's a pet cemetery next to this place (only does horses though and not at weekends) it's closing or may even have closed not sure.

The campsite is turning it into another luxury shower / toilet block, building a bunk room out the back, have a few luxury Glamping pods and a rally field next to it as well.

Fire pits allowed I'm told - and also supplied. Sounds great!

You can check out 'late' for an extra fee, think it was £4. It was £15 a night all in when we visited. Great

Just returned from a weekend at this site, and I would recommend it. (2 adults, 2 children aged 5 and 3)

Directions once onto the site were unclear, you have to pass through a small collection of shops/car park. However the friendly man in reception explained they were in the middle of putting up new signage, so hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Lovely clean site, I have never seen a better toilet/shower block! There was a lovely family shower too. It was all spotlessley clean, even though the site was busy. You can only access the facilities with a pass card, (£10 deposit), but they give you 2 which was a pleasant change. This also opens the barrier to the site, so it is very secure.

We were in pitch no 25, which was excellent with small children as we were directly opposite the play area, so we could keep an eye on them. All pitches were fully serviced from what I could see, though you would need a very long water and waste pipe from some of the pitches (our service 'post' was on the opposite side of where we needed them for our 'van, and you can only pitch one way due to the way the pitches are laid out). But this was no big deal for a weekend stay, and teh water tap was very handy to refil the bottle!

Previous posters have mentioned there's no play area, but they are in the process of building one, with a large sandpit (take buckets/spades etc!), and a fort with look out towers. Looks like it will be great when it is finished.

The clubhouse was great, we used this on the 2 evenings we were there. There is a soft play area for the cildren, so they played happily while the grown ups relaxed with a drink. They also sold a nice selection of beers from the brewery on site.

We visited Delamere forest (4 miles away) and had a pleasant walk there (there are several different routes you can take, we did a 3 mile one, long enough for young children). Worth noting it is £6 to park in forest car parks. There are also lots of bike trails there too.

The shops at Lady Green are also worth a look around. The Yankee candle shop was well worth a visit, I've never seen such a selection! And the cheesecake shop, these were delicious!

This is a great new site with excellent sanitation facilities. The club house is all set to open and will be an absolute bonus to the site in that there is a fantastic, free play area for kids. All the pitches appear to be gravel, hardstanding and all have there own water and electricity. Other reviews mentioned the pet crematorium but you would never know it was there and we did not find it noisy at all.

We had a meal in the Travellers Rest which is about a ten minute walk away but be aware that part of the road is unlit and is very dark at this time of year so a torch is essential.

It is about an half hour walk into Frodsham (all down hill)and a taxi costs around £4. It is a nice enough little town but there is not much to do there.

We took a train ride into Chester, which took about 20 minutes and cost just under £10 for 2 of us.

We found this to be a gem of a site and enjoyed our weekend so much that we hope to be back again before Christmas.

We stayed here as a family for the October half-term holiday. The site is fantastic and we would not hesitate in recommending it to any one. In fact we are returning again this year. Alex provided a very friendly welcome and he works really hard in managing the site.

The caravan pitches are all hard-standing, although of differing sizes (we had to overhang onto the grass with our twin-axle unit although other pitches were huge - just a bad choice by us I think!).

The toilet facilities are fantastic, some of the best I have seen on a site, numerous toilets and showers.

There was no play area when we vsited (although there is now) but Delemere Forest is close by and this is just one big playground for both the kids and the dogs!

There is a craft centre on site with some interesting quirky shops, although for food you have to visit Frodsham which is around 5-10 minutes drive away

This site does have friendly staff and excellent toilet blocks, but is perhaps let down by the single elsan point for the whole site. The warm-water dog wash is a nice touch though.

As mentioned by others the adjoining craft village is ok for a stroll round, though Frodsham itself does little to live up to it's 'quaint market town' tag. The Helter Skelter bar in the village is really nice though, with an excellent ambience.

Biggest gripe about the site. The pitches are sometimes very close and little effort seems to have gone into making them level - our pitch (51), needed the jockey wheel right down on the ground to get front to back levelling anywhere near.

That aside, I think when the site matures ie the newly planted trees and shrubbery, it will make a nice enough site for visiting the Cheshire area.

Stayed at this site for two nights in october in our campervan. We were welcomed by Alex a friendly guy who explained to us all about the site.

The shower and toilet block were new and kept spotless at all times, the water was lovely and hot, and even had underfloor heating.

There were some shops on the site, sweet shop, hairdresser, brewery shop, craft making, where you could join in to make cards ect, a nice change if you want to chill out away from the family for some me time.

There were also quite a few little shops selling everything from antiques to old records and bric a brac, took ages to look around, and a beautiful candle shop. Also had a bistro, but didn't visit this,

I would recommend a visit to this site, you do need a car to visit surrounding areas, as it is to far to walk anywhere, but loads of places to visit.

Will definitely be returning.

Just come back from camping trip in a tent very friendly staff. Chose this site as it was only 1 hour away from home had lovely weather.

The toilets were spotless and the showers very hot washing facilities brilliant.

One thing which would be brilliant on this site is swings and slides my 3 year old was quite bored and the site said had a play barn only to find out you had to pay £2.80, which I was annoyed about and only opened from 10 till 4, so if it was raining there was not much for the kids to do.

Very noisy at night with the traffic and the pet crematorium very noisy.

All in all I would go again if they had more facilities for young kids the price was good though so could not moan about that very near to shops etc.

We stayed here for a few days while visiting family in the area. I think, on the whole, it's a great site. The toilet block is modern, clean and well laid out, and (according to my 8year old son), smells of dog biscuits! free showers, nice and hot: lovely.

There's a whole bunch of little shops on site, a great bookshop, and others selling all kinds of oddities and crafts. Great wee record shop too. The brewery is great to look around and has some lovely real ales to buy.

The tent pitching area fills up heavily at the weekends, and I strongly suggest that you don't camp too near to the path to the loos, which gets quite noisy. Until three in the morning.

The nearest thing I have to gripes is that the light from the utility points was far too bright, and could do with some kind of dimmer or hood over it or something. There was a bit of a lack of any decent play facilities for the kids other than the sandpit. The pet Crem wasn't too noisy, but seemed a bit of an odd thing to have next to your tent. Other than that, excellent. I expect we'll be back next year.
