This wasn't our first stay we stayed twice in 2013 we find the site nice n chilled. The toilets and shower block is always warm clean n plenty of showers means no waiting. My 9 yr old daughter enjoys the play area situated in the centre of site. She also loves the playbarn.
We all like to wander round lady heyes shops n the fish n chip shop is good value etc.
We are going to return again later in the year so see you soon alex n staff.

Excellent experience on booking this site over the phone with a very helpful man, great site not far from the motorway network, an ideal break if travelling from the North to North Wales etc and only £18.
Great facilities in hook up and water + drain, pitch side, the toilets are 1st class and heated, I would suggest more hooks in showers plus adjust curtains back for more space, nice to see seating for drying feet and dressing which most parks don't provide.
My only disappointment, a £3 per day charge for wi fi, ** There's a little 4 table cafe locally that's free,
Lady Heyes that's £1100 a year don't spoil a great site.
Cheers
Andy G

We decided to stay here for five nights on route back from Porthmadog
The location is good it being only around 3 miles from the motorway and two miles from Frodsham with its supermarket takeaways, Pubs serving food etc
The pitches we normally avoid are any inclines or variation's left or right as the wife is disabled and we do not carry any levelling blocks for this reason However a lot of the pitches are either uphill or lean to the left or right the better ones seem mainly to be taken by long termers
Also the power/water drain stands are on quite a few of the pitches on the wrong side and indeed the drain the waste water would have to flow uphill to work
The advertised Bar has gone its just an empty shell.
The fish and chip shop as described on their leaflet says open most nights but it seems now its only Friday and Saturday and its not cod they are serving
Toilets/showers are good But I feel its expensive for what's on offer we paid £17. 50 per night +£10 for key card (returnable)low season Would we return NO

Just returned from a 5 day stay at Lady Heye.
Our pitch was hard standing and considering the weather, probably just as well.
Easy access from main road. Showers and toilets very clean.
Ex. Celebrity Bob Carolges of Spit the Dog fame has candle shop on the site. Don't expect a warm welcome from him though if you visit his shop.
We wouldn't return again though for one specific reason, which could be rectified if the campsite took the trouble. The showers are far too hot and you cannot alter the temperature of the water. I wasn't the only one to complain, many of us felt the same. Shame as it has put me off going again.

Plus points: Staff friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower facilities modern and clean. Good views of surrounding countryside. Good chip shop on site. Local to Delamere Forest. Has a play area for kids.
Minus points: felt it was rather characterless as a campsite (despite on site shops). Constant smell of -what we must assume was- muck spreading nearby, this tainted our weekend here, so much so, it would stop us from returning to this site, and is the reason why we have lowered our overall rating for this site. The play area needs attention and a bit more in it, for example a swing and a slide.

Hi all. Just come back from lady heys caravan &camping site near frodsham/delamer.
It was are first time out in are caravan and could have not gone any smoother than possible. Site was lovely, site manger Alex was very helpful explained everything to us. Shower&Toilet block excellent very clean and warm. Site was very clean and kept nice. The other people on site very helpful & welcoming and friendly hook up was great water/electric right next to the pitch.
We asked to move pitches as the one we picked had an incline so good enough the team swapped us to a flatter one we will be back no problems and to top it all off weather was glorious
I would recommend this site. Only one night but could av stayed longer.

First impressions of the site when we drove up to it were disappointing, the entrance signs are really confusing with lots of huge exit signs all around. We were not the only arrivals finding the signs confusing. There are lots of really odd shop units at the site entrance with a busy car park that you need to drive through before you find the reception. You pay a £10 deposit for a card that you need to enter and exit the car park and for toilet blocks. Why you need a card to exit is beyond me and as the site is fairly remote you have to question why you need it for the toilet blocks. It doesn't make to stress free camping when all the family have to share one card and keep it safe. Our pitch was on a big incline and we had to go out and buy levelling blocks. We noticed lots of pitches are not level and blocks are widely used. The showers are set to one 'hot' temperature which does not suit everyone. The toilet blocks were modern but not particularly clean and we saw someone taking their three dogs in there with them. There were children playing football right by our caravan and dogs running free. We had read the great reviews before booking and had much higher expectations. Sadly not for us and will not return.

We have just stayed here for the weekend, it was a case of booking a site close to junction 11 as we had booked to take a canal boat out for the day.
Oh how please was we when we eventually got to site, ( m62 friday pm ), upon arrival it looks a little dated but once you get to reception everything changes. Its clean modern and very well kept, there's a security barrier to gain access and another one to stop you leaving. You get a card to use, pitches are very spacious nearly HUGE ! we parked our twin axle and two cars easily ( no awning ). EHU post was close by so I could use my small 10m lead and there is even fresh water hook up which was a very welcomed pleasant surprise. Toilet block was huge and clean, play area for the kids. There are a few small units/shop on site opposite reception which we didn't have time to venture round but wish we did, which is why we are talking about booking here again but for a little longer next time.
An extremely well run clean pleasant site, staff are laid back which only adds to the enjoyment and relaxed atmosphere, but is so well run its a real credit to all staff.
10 mins from M56 so access is easy, frodsham is only 5 min drive and has all the usual shops, pubs and evening takeaways.

Plot location was one of the best as almost level and clear view to the central play area. Pity play area has nothing in it apart from a mud trap of a castle with builders quality sand.
Pub closed down. I was told before we went that they are prepping a new bar but no evidence of that. I guess it was privately managed and struggled off season. Looking at the outside of it its best shut.
The owner/manager who appears on the site video ignores most customers and passes you off on a younger bloke. No one had any idea if the arrangement with Forest Hills for swimming and sauna etc was still active although mentioned on a few web pages. Was advised to call them myself as it seemed they couldn't be bothered.
No dog control and off lead dogs everywhere.
No late evening control and loud parties could happily crack on till dawn.
Location fine. Nothing at Beeston castle but the hotel castle on the other opposing hill is worth a visit and you can wander around this beautiful setting. Nice cream tea there.
Frodsham is a lovely place.
Shop units on site which are much played on in the caravan site vid are completely independent and run
Down. As others say. Bob Carolges is a miserable old so and so who is actually selling up.
The site owner seems to be concentrating on a glamping end which meant a digger was churning away all week from 9am.
Showers have 10sec cutoff which is daft.
Site shop has nothing in it apart from 250ml milk. About 5 of them.
I would go again as a local place for the kids to run but most of the plots are very uneven.
Seams to be no legal control over distance between tents. I heard the office lad telling one camper to setup anywhere he wished. Should be 4metres between and that includes gazeebos but some family groups were smack bang next to each other.
The owner needs to get a grip and update this place and ensure site rules for dogs etc are followed. Several left early in the week we were there and several plots were free even though the online booking showed them fully booked beforehand.
A pity all in all as some we know have been frequently and would not go again now. Fairly new site as well.
Beware of plots near the sess pool.
Some mention needing substantial steel pegs for awnings. Ho hooo. I've ruined around 10quids worth as the main problem is that the awning hard standing is about 4 inches deep before your pegs bend on hitting concrete. Old web photos show this under the ground during construction. Site web page mentions that gas can be purchased. But you guessed it. Not anymore.

Just got back from a lovely weekend away testing our new Van. Very friendly staff. Really well kept and clean toilets.
My only criticisms are that the pitches could do with a bit of tlc (very tired looking and not level) and if you don't want kids running round your van don't go on the pitches near the playground. We have problems with kids running between the van and the car. Sometimes even the parents.
All in all would recommend this site and would certainly use it again (away from the playground).
