Just stayed here for the first time in our folding camper on a caravan pitch and had a nice stay.

The site in general is good with a great shower block, however if you were in the tent field it would be a long walk to the facilities! The owners stated that they are planning another block now as they had not realised that they would get busy so quick after opening.

The block is as described by others, all done in marble, clean, with plenty of space though the showers do not have temp control and were a little too hot!

The outside, warm dog shower turned out to be really useful after one of our dogs decided to 'play' in a mud filled ditch in near by Delemere forest.

It did feel a little too busy to me with the layout for caravans being circles within circles though the pitch size and the grass area was decent.

All the pitches had easy access to water and ehu and once the trees grow up there will be lots of greenery too.

Silence rules were obeyed well

It looks like this site will keep on improving as they strive to get a first class site and we will no doubt return here again.

Visited this new site in July with a campervan and a tent. The site is easy to find and very close to lots of amenities in Frodsham, also close to Oulton park which we visited during our stay.

The site is very new and will grow into its surroundings! The ladies toilet block was immaculate during our stay but the same could not be said for the mens, my husband was very disappointed with the cleanliness and lack of loo roll on sat night/sunday morning.

We enjoyed our stay, not sure we will be back though.

I stayed the weekend of 15-17th July, perhaps the wettest weekend I have ever spent caravanning!

I agree with everything positive said about this site. Excellent customer service from the online booking to the experience while we were there.

As adults, we enjoyed the on site candle shop, bookstore etc.

For the kids though, it was constant torrential rain the whole weekend, it was too wet to play outside, too muddy to go to delamere forest and my kids aged 9 and 10 where too old for the play barn.

So sadly for the kids, they weren't able to let off some off their energy as there didn't seem to be anything in reasonable travel distance that didn't involve getting soaked!

I look forward to when the site open up the planned clubhouse with activities planned for the kids.

Will I go back again? - perhaps at short notice if I know the weather is going to be good, but on a wet weekend it wasn't a great l;ocation for bored kids.

Despite the rain, a truly excellent site, which looks set to get better.

We have just returned from a weekend at the Lady Heyes campsite. The weather was less than pleasant, with a lot of rain, but that didn't dampen our weekend!

There's loads to do on the actual site, with a quirky selection of shops and cafes, including, as someone has mentioned, the Candle shop run by Bob Carolgees! There's also a playbarn for smaller children, open 10-12 at the weekends.

The toilet and shower block was great - modern, warm, spotless and huge shower room for a family.

Really friendly site manager, and mostly flat pitches. The only thing is that the electric hook up is far away from the tent. You can borrow an extension lead from the office for £20 deposit.

This is a great site and we will definitely go back!

Just come back from an excellent weekend at this site. Being from Liverpool I don't have a wide choice of sites to visit, this one is only 20 mins from my house just on the outskirts of Frodsham centre. Booked online with the best booking service ever, I chose my pitch on line according to the layout & paid direct through paypal, brilliant. Soon as I got there I knew where I was pitched, as previous statements say each pitch has its own shared bollard with elec, water, waste. Be prepared to have a good length of waste pipe & hose in your kit as you may need it depending on where you pitch.

Area laid out nicely with toilet block dead centre of the site & what a toilet block it is WOW. There are some novelty stores on site owned by Bob Carolgees who is now in the candle selling business without spit the dog. There is a bistro on site that was selling bottled beer 2 for £3. 50 & being on site you get 20% of a meal which was nice. Round the corner from Delemere forest for the adventurous types & even a doogy shower on site if your pooch comes back mucky. Nearest supermarket in frodsham 5 mins from site. Will definitely go again,

We stayed here for one night after picking up our caravan. The site is easy to find, only about 5 minutes of the M56. We booked online where I was even allowed to pick my own pitch, we chose number 14 which has a nice view of surrounding countryside. We had a very warm welcome from reception and they even offered to reverse the van on to the pitch when I said we were new to caravanning. However my husband did manage to reverse on. There is a £5 refundable deposit for a barrier card which should be returned on departure.

The pitches are nicely laid out with plenty of room. Many of them are sloping, we had to level the van with a block. They did have a pallet of wooden blocks free for anyone to make use of. The pitches on the main field all had ehu, a water tap and drainage point. They are a mixture of hardstanding(compacted gravel)and grass. There is also a separate area for tents which looked nice.

The loos and showers are in one large building and are really good. Cleaning could have been a bit better on the Sunday and some of the loos had ran out of paper. The shower cubicles are large with hanging hooks on the door but know where to put your toiletries, a shelf would have been useful. There is a large disabled/family shower room too. The washing facilities are undercover and very good with large deep sinks with plenty of hot water. The washing up room also had two or three washing machines and dryers.

There isnt a play area as such but kids tended to meet up on the large grassy area in the middle of the site. On the Saturday the staff came round to say there was a free bouncy castle, giant connect 4 and Jenga which went down well. Later on the kids played rounders which was nice to see.

There are some shops at the top of the site, our daughter made a beeline to the old fashioned sweet shop! I didn't see a shop on site for bread, milk, newspapers etc which would have been handy although there is a Londis in nearby Frodsham. We were given a sheet with a site plan on and a few rules etc but a we would have liked a bit more info on the local area (nearest supermarket) etc although reception did have lots of tourist info leaflets. On your last day you can pay extra to stay for the afternoon (I think it was £5 til 6pm) but as we had a 3 hr journey home we packed up and were off site by the 12. 30 cut off time. I was disappointed to find reception closed so had no choice than to pop the barrier card in the post box and loose my £5 deposit. This did put a dampner on what was otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Just returned from a weekend break at this new site. Have to say its a delightful place - and once the trees and things have grown it will be even better. The staff were possibly the most polite and helpful Ive come across, the toilet block was excellent ( although the smell of what theyve used to treat the wood or the grout was vile - but I'm sure this will fade with time) also maybe they could do with a chair or shelf in the showers, somewhere to put your stuff down. There is no kids play area - but a large area of grass in the middle for ball games etc, and they even put up a bouncy castle and some outdoor games when we were there !Pitches are massive, and are all fully serviced. Also a separate tent area. Only thing I didn't like was that the path from the tent area to the toilet block cut through peoples pitches, and I don't really like that !you get to choose your pitch if you book online though, so if you don't like pathways through your pitch avoid the pitches around 45 - 50 ish. If we need to go to the area again we would definitely stay back at this site. A lovely pub down the road - The Travellers Rest - food was excellent and not too pricey. All in all 9 out of 10 - only lost the 1 for the smell in the amenities block !

We stayed on the site on a very busy Saturday night, when I think it was probably fully booked.

The site on first arrival does seem a little open but it's a new site and lots of trees and shrubs have been planted, just a case of waiting for them to grow! The pitches are nice sizes, not the biggest ever but very adequate. Many twin axle monsters of caravans were there and all looked to be fitting fine. Security on the site is well managed with access cards being issued to raise the barriers on both the enterance and exit - a cash deposit of a fiver is required for this. The toilet block is huge and well appointed but perhaps would benefit from a mop and bucket being available for ongoing mo ups and a couple of loos had ran out of toilet roll by Sunday lunch time- it was a very busy weekend. There are plenty of toilets and showers and sinks, a family shower room and disabled facilities. There is an indoor wash up area with a freezer for ice packs, large washing machines for £3 and dryers costing 50p for 30mins.

Alex, the site manager is very helpful, we made a couple of special requests and none was too much bother for him.

The area has plenty to see and do. At the same location as the camp site is a small shopping complex of independent shops. Most hobbies and crafts are catered for, book shop, candle shop, antiques and furniture shops. For children there is a playbarn. There is also a bistro on site which is open until 8pm on weekend evening and serves very acceptable food. Frodsham brewery is also on site and sells bottled ales. Delamere is only a few mins away. Chester is probably about 30 mins drive.

The views from this site are amazing, looks right out over the Cheshire plains, jodrell bank can be seen (also worth a visit). Currently there is a special rate of £11 a night.

We have just been to Lady Heyes for the first weekend in July. Where to start. Here goes.

Campsite is easy to find and is only a few miles off the M56 Junction 12. It is a bit confusing when you get on to Lady Heyes craft centre site which way to go for the campsite but look out for the signs.

The site itself has only been open 4 weeks and it is lovely, you can see for miles across Cheshire and beyond on a clear day, which we had. The staff are very friendly. The shower and toilets are immaculate, which you would expect on a new site but it is the detail that has gone into it with proper wooden doors on the cubicles rather than the usual formica you get. The showers were warm, but my wife did have to wait 10 minutes in the ladies. This may be something they need to think about for the future, with 85 touring pitches and 40 tent pitches is there enough showers at peak times?

There is even a dog wash outside near the elson point, which was good on the hots day we had to cool our dog down

The 85 touring pitches are hardstanding (crushed stone) so rock pegs are a must. Most of the pitches do have a slop and depending where you are pitched it could be front to back or sidewards. They do have a pallet of timber blocks you can get to help with leveling. There is electric and water and a drain for waste water on the pitches, two pitches share on bollard.

There is a big green area in front of the shower block for the kids to play on, they put an inflatable castle on there on Saturday, with Giant connect 4 and Jenga.

The Lady Heyes craft centre is on the same site and is worth a look around esp Frodsham micro-brewery with a wide selection of real ales. Me and my mate sampled a few bottles!.

Frodsham is two miles away down the hill, there are plenty of pubs and eating places in Frodsham. They will book a taxi for you in reception if you want a night out in the Village. There is also a Morrisons Supermarket in Frodsham.

There are big plans for the campsite at Lady Heyes as they are going to be adding a Bar/clubhouse in the not to distant future.

All in All we have had a Fantastic weekend on site, it is less than an hour from home. We will be definitely going back. In fact we have already booked it for the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Have just bought a new tent, have gone for a smaller tent so instead of messing about in daughters garden we decided to go to lady Heyes new site as its only 10 miles from home and if new tent had any problems we could get home easy enough.

Its a great site well set out and views to die for it was £6. 00 each for us two adults and £1. 00 for dog and we thought we we try electric camping for the 1st time (only kettle and toaster)had a great time. Even though its very near where we live we will be using this site as much as we can for nights out just us tent and booze lol
