This was the first time camping with the family (Myself, partner, girls 5,9,15) and overall was a very good experience. Although a weekend in the summer holidays, we managed to find a nice spot and were helped by having excellent weather.
The facilities were much better that I was expecting; both toilets & showers were clean, the latter having plenty of hot water.
The staff at reception were very helpful. We took advantage of hiring some extra ice-packs from there.
Brockenhust is a lovely village; we had an excellent meal at the Rose & Crown pub, which also served Ringwood ale (bonus!).
While there is no play area as such, the site is bordered by the New Forest and has many open spaces. There is also a junior fishing lake. I will definitely return; this time with fishing rods so the young ones can have a go at fishing.

We have recently returned from a 4 day trip staying at Roundhill. It is a really nice sight with friendly people. Beware of the horses though! My husband had his foot trodden on by a hungry one! Toilet and shower facilities are fine but the queue was quite a wait in the mornings! Our little ones enjoyed the space to run around. Brockenhurst is a lovely village and the Foresters Arm Pub serves the best cider!

This was my first ever experience of camping and choose this site as the friends trying to introduce me had been the week before!
We arrived on the friday evening about 6.00 and had to que for about 20 mins to get booked in. Drove to find our friends who had saved a pitch next to them. Lots of people, site was full, but still had plenty of room.
Evening was quiet, no parties etc.
Woke on the saturday morning after a night of rain to find lots of puddles everywhere! Showers were very busy and had to queue for 40 mins for a shower. Shower itself was good temp, but floor was dirty with mud and was very glad I had taken flip flops! Sinks were clean and toilets had plenty of toilet roll.
Horses and donleys are brilliant and certainly make it more interesting!
Sunday was a lovely day and lots more people about, but still no one spoke to us or even smiled, even when we offered to help some other people who had got stuck in the mud!
Overall a nice site - not the cleanest and certainly not the friendliest! Have been to two other sites since and are both a lot cleaner and friendlier!

Went for 4 nights, Tuesday to Saturday, myself, wife, our 2 boys (10 & 14) and our Lab puppy.
I have used this site a number of times over the years but always at a weekend and it does get rather busy and can be noisy, so we opted for midweek this time. The site was about two thirds full but we found a spot in a field with only a few other campers sharing it with us.
Roundhill is a lovely campsite and well managed and maintained. The staff are attentive but not in your face.
The toilet/shower blocks are fairly new but there are queues at the obvious times. We tended to use them straight after they had been cleaned.
We found plenty to do in the area including visits to the seaside and some lovely pubs and restaurants.
Overall, a great campsite but best visited during the week.

Nice site and although it was fully booked still plenty of room. Although not many obvious camping spots of an evening as very undulating site in places. There were a few muddly puddles around even though it hadn't rained for a few days so something to watch out for.
Staff friendly and helpful on-site. Showers and toilets kept clean even though there were probably 2,000(ish) people on-site.
Cycling in the area is excellent, stayed at Hollands Wood a few times so this made a nice change as didn't seem so crowded. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and a horse coming into the tent on the last day was a particular highlight!
Exbury house a few miles away with its steam railway etc. Is great for smaller children rather that Beaulieu which is much busier.
A nice site that we would be happy to visit again.

It was our first time camping and what a stunning site, booked in at the site office and were told the dos and don'ts for the site and told to set up the tent anywhere we like.
We set the tent near some trees and not too far from the loos block. The site is mostly flat with some bumps but nothing to worry about.
Wild horses everywhere you look and happy to stick their head in the tent and have a nose for food HA HA but was told to keep food in the car and never leave food in the tent.
The loos and washing blocks=this is how a camping sites loos and washing blocks should be done. Loads of wc and the shower was just the right temperature for us. The washing up room was great, hot water and nice layout with about 6 sinks.
The only small fault was the british weather and a storm flooded some parts of the field including where we had pitched the tent Ha Ha
We don't have kids but this would be a great site for them loads of stuff to do and see

Great family campsite. Loads of open space for games and groups. The New Forest gives a perfect setting and there are wooded areas and open plains alike - pitch where you fancy. Fantastic, hugely plentiful and clean toilets / showers. The wild horses roaming the site are a real bonus too - 2 days spent here with friends was time very well spent. A great place to chill out. More populated and pricier per night than many of the campsites we have been to but no less enjoyable as a result due to the space on offer and the friendliness of all on site.

Went for a weekend. Very pretty and the ponies and donkeys are fine. If they keep their distance! Very busy weekend and although fully booked, people weren't on top of each other.
However, the facilities! From a male point of view, three blocks of toilets and showers, equating to 12 showers for a site this size is inadequate. As were the washing up rooms. Nice and clean though. Also, no toilet rolls left on a Sunday morning. Should really consider the double load and slide systems.
At £17 a night, I found this a bit steep for one person with a two berth tent and car. However, does have a really good atmosphere and as said is very picturesque with a good mix of heath, tree's and woodland.
Sticklers for rules. One windbreak means one windbreak!
Nice enough though, and will probably go back some day.

Spent two nights in July (Fri and Sat).
Very happy with this campsite. It's flat, plenty of space, decent facilities and is open on to the forest. The ponies just wonder through the site which is fantastic.
We'd pre-booked (seems compulsory nowadays) and were met with a warm welcome. The sign in was slick and easy. We toured around for 15 minutes to find a spot big enough for us and 5 other families who were joining us later. Eventually found a spot at the far end by the water tower.
Even through the sign at the entrance said 'full' we were surprised just how un-full it felt. Plenty of spare room.
There were a mix of campers. One man, two man, couples, younger families, older couples, larger families - all the different ages.
The site was quiet with just the usual noise levels - nothing out of the ordinary. The facilities are great. Shower blocks with pot washing and toilets, cleaned once a day (watch out for the 1 to 2 hour closing of each block in rotation - the next block might be a bit of a walk). The showers are push button and lovely and warm. As is always the case you may have to queue at peak times but we just went outside peak times and mostly got straight in.
The ground is level although there were a few puddles as it had been raining. There was quite a breeze across the site while we were there. Made pitching fun!
No shop to talk about however Brockenhurst is close by car.
There is quite a large pond on site - perhaps not great for young children. However it's right by the entrance and most of the camping is some way for the entrance.
No children's playground but plenty of trees and such like for them to roam and play.
Definitely go again and while it's not the cheapest, it's a decent site.

This is the largest and most 'official' campsite we have ever tried, but the girls wanted to camp with wild horses, so this fitted the bill
When we arrived I was horrified by the queue of cars waiting to check in, however, after a ten minute drive around the site, which is massive, we found a nice pitch. The 20 ft rule is a blessing here on a busy, hot weekend.
What can I say.It was fantastic, never had to queue for a loo, even though the 500 pitches were full, did have to queue for a shower though. The facilities are very clean. The only odd thing is children under 12 are not allowed to go to the toilet block without an adult.
The area is amazing, so much to do, although, the girls made friends on the site and we never really left it all weekend.
Having a wild New Forest pony in your tent is a tad unnerving, but a great photo opportunity.
