May 2003 I had a lovely time camping at this site over the bank holiday. Although the site had the full signs out (we were very glad that we had prebooked) there was plenty of space. Although there are no showers there are sinks in cubicles so you can have a good wash. Brockenhurst is a bit of a walk away (45+mins), I wish I'd brought my bike!

Regularly Yes, the site is basic, no showers - but cubicled wash basins allow you to strip wash in private. No laundry facilities (something I like to mention as one of my children was a bed wetter and this was important to me when choosing a site in those bad old days!) But, these things aside, the site is flat (I'm a tenter) and the scenery is wonderful.
Cows, donkeys and ponies inspect your tent at regular intervals - it saves the rangers from doing it! And for walking or cycling it is a great base. My husband and I are regular weekend visitors and we love the fact that you can chose your own spot and not be restricted by pre-ordained pitches.

Visit often I virtually grew up on this site as my parents took us there frequently in my youth, so I've seen it develop from an area with virtually no facilities into a campsite! Its a huge area with water points, portakabin toilets and wash basins but no showers. It is possible to site yourself away from the crowds between gorse clumps, and its usually quite peaceful. There is also a special area for motorcycle campers. Its situated about midway between Brockenhurst and Beaulieu and not close to any shops or pubs! Never leave any food or rubbish lying around as the ponies WILL scatter and eat it and they can get aggressive!

august 2001 As a 16 year old i was shocked at how pleaserable my experience at Round Hill was! It is cheaper than going abroad and in my opinion much more enjoyable than going abroad. The chance to see the ponys and Donkeys living wild and free is quite breath-taking. As a representitive of the youth of today I strongly recommend Round Hill as it is an experience you will never forget. With walks and cycle paths you can explore the forest to it's potential, Brockenhurst is but a 10 min bike ride away if any supplies are needed during your stay. Overal I loved my stay at Round Hill and will be returning this year and for many years come.
