Fantastic site! Can't fault it.
The staff are all very friendly. The toilets and showers spotless. The swimming pool was solar heated and clean and as warm as can be expected for an outdoor pool in this country. The bar was nice and the games room was great for wet weather. Kept hearing the words 'have you got a 50p' for the teddy grab machine.
Walking was limited, but it was a nice walk into Bletchingdon and on to Kirtlington. The Oxford park and ride was very close by.
The pitches were a good size, the only thing I would say is give them the correct size of your unit when booking. Some of the pitches are not as deep as others, so if your booked on a pitch too small and they are full you could come unstuck.
Hate to say it because it will probably be fully booked next time we return, but I would recommend this site as one of the best we have visited.

I stayed at this site with friends in June 2013 and was very impressed with the wardens and the site, so I planned a 2nd trip with 2 other families and our children. When we arrived we were shown to you pitches (x 2) and they demanded that we have car, tent, car, tent - which meant there was a car in between our 2 tents which isn't ideal. We asked if we could park, car, tent, tent car and was told that he didn't want the site to look like a car park. This was a ridiculous demand that we adhered to, to keep the peace.
The warden then kept walking past our tents inspecting which was very off-putting when you are trying to have a family holiday.
The next day, a friend came to visit and we were accused of not booking her into reception and not paying for our pitch. It was an awful weekend, we were treated appallingly and I can't believe I recommended them.
|
Management response: We were surprised this customer felt it appropriate to comment on their stay since it was with reluctance that, within 24 hours of their arrival, we had to take the unprecedented step of asking this group to leave our quiet, family park and their pitch fees were refunded in full. (For the benefit of future guests, please note that we ask that a car is kept between adjacent tents to ensure that the fire safety gap is maintained. On our very small park, we also request that only one car is parked on each pitch) |

We wanted somewhere close to home so I didn't have to spend too long on the road. We had a really relaxing weekend.
The pool was great and although busy it was never overcrowded. We had a great evening in the bar. The toilet and showers were of a very high standard and the friendliness of all the staff made it a really enjoyable stay.

This is a great site, with good facilities and very friendly staff. There is an on site shop which stocks all the basic essentials. The site also has a bar and serves food, we did use the bar, but didn't get any food, so can't comment on that. The site is well laid out and our pitch was really good. The hard standing pitches where we were all separated by hedging, so give a good degree of privacy. We also had a grassed area at the rear of our pitch, which made it even better. There was a play area and a field for the kids, which kept ours happy! The toilets and showers were very clean and there is also under cover dishwashing facilities and a laundry.
Can't really fault the site at all to be honest. The only improvement I could think of would be if they had superpitches. But the lack of them is only a minor thing and we would definitely return to this site again regardless.
The area is well placed for Oxford, Bicester or more local shopping in Kidlington, which has a good sized Sainsburys and several takeaways.
All in all, a good weekend on a site which we can highly recommend.

We used this site as a family weekend away. We came as a group of 8 and needed two pitches. We were placed next to each other in a corner which was perfect. The Pitch was of a generous size and was grassy and flat. Facilities were outstanding and well maintained. The Laundry facilities were a reasonable price. We appreciated the lovely little touches throughout the site such as flowers in the bathroom and cloths by bathroom sink, washing up liquid and cloths were provided by plate sinks. There was the use of a freezer and microwave. The Showers were very clean and practical with a curtain to separate wet/dry area. Children's play area was small but quite satisfactory for my 7 and 4 year old. The games room provided fun in the wet weather offering table games such as pool and football or a choice of old Skool board games such as frustration. ( Provided a few laughs). An all round safe and pleasant site.

Amazing! What a gem of a site to find for our very first trip with our new caravan. The booking staff were very helpful and when I explained that this was to be our first trip we were reassured that willing help was on hand from the camp site wardens. The pitches were all hard standing and level and the views to the fields behind, which had lambs and horses in, were great. With the help of the warden we even managed to get up the new awning! The camp site facilities were immaculately clean and warm. The washing up facilities were also well maintained and the waste areas were especially clean and tidy. But the best thing about this site was the helpful wardens who were welcoming and informative about the local area. Two nights was not enough and we could have stayed a lot longer but we will definitely go back. We also hope that other camp sites will come up to these high standards, if so we shall be very lucky.

On our arrival we had to convince the owner that we really weren't the couple with the two Chihuahuas who were expected that afternoon, and his wife could not recall our telephone conversation of a couple of days ago. However, there was plenty of space on this wet November day, although we were not the only ones crazy enough to want to camp this time of year.
Even though it was drizzling the site had a cosy, well organised feel. Hard standings made parking our campervan easy and we overlooked a field of sheep that was also home to a couple of shire horses. The site is fairly small, with a grassed area in the middle used in drier months, and two picnic tables. There are all the usual facilities and the toilet and shower block is modern and immaculately clean. You begin to appreciate that this site is all about comfort and convenience with everything being well thought through. The showers not only have a separate area to keep clothes dry but, oh joy, a rack to hold bottles of shower gel and shampoo, so often missing elsewhere. There are hand soap, loo paper and hot water is free at the point of use. I cautiously searched out the person singing melodically in the shower, only to discover it was piped music!
WiFi is free with no annoying twenty four hour password to enter. A bar, shop and swimming pool are available during the high season. We considered the fee of £17. 00 with hook-up was reasonable.
In the morning we got chatting to the owner of the farm, who is passionate about his Shire horses and a great source of information about them. Expect to see an odd mix of sheep, as the farmer takes on waifs and strays, one apparently with only three legs.
The nearest pub did not look up to much so we drove to one further afield in Kirtlington – turn left out of the campsite and take a right turn towards Bicester. The Dashwood is more a restaurant than a pub, serving very good food. Having not booked, we were grateful to be fitted in. Members of staff are very friendly and helpful. Bicester, by the way, has a large designer clothes outlet – where goods are still very pricey but window shopping is fun.
We definitely intend returning to the campsite when the better weather arrives.

As a 'break journey' site this was great. Easy to get from the main road. It helps if you have a mover for some of the pitches, unless you like pushing!
The facilities were always clean and well kept.
It's an ideal spot to tour around from. We had day at Blenheim Palace, well worth a visit. The Churchill displays were especially interesting. Not cheap, but you can swap your day ticket for a years pass.

We stayed for 5 nights over the bank holiday weekend. The team were great and moved our holidays date at late notice.
The Site is beautiful with excellent facilities - the bar, pool area, toilets and washing up facilities were spotless. The wardens and staff were really helpful. The shop orders lovely fresh bread a croissants / pasties which was a lovely treat. There is a lovely park area for the children, which our little boy loved, although he wished there had been a slide too!
Only suggestion would be to have the bar open more often, although appreciate when its quiet this might not be needed.
Plenty to do locally and we will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely break.

Lovely site, very clean facilities. Great showers. Freezer & microwave for visitors to use, very useful.
Play equipment in need of some attention but well used by 5yr old - in a good, large space at one end of the camping field, plenty of room to play in.
Swimming pool well maintained, very clean - we really enjoyed using it.
Staff very friendly. The camping side of things wasn't busy when we arrived and was nice and peaceful.
Did not use local shops / pub / or visit attractions as short 3 night stay, booked specifically to use the pool and relax. Which we did.
