Just arrived home after a lovely stay wardens were very friendly and helpful even moved our booking as we broke down and had to return home so they moved our days to fit us. When arrived they also helped us in with caravan and gave us map for public footpaths close by they were happy to help with any tourist details they could. Very clean well equipped site not far to park and ride to Oxford and other places to visit. Swimming pool, park and games room, games and books available to borrow was a plus for our 11 year old. Will return to this site for sure.

We picked this site as I have family who live near Oxford and Reading and wanted to visit them.
The site is lovely, we had a lovely pitch.
Staff were very helpful, we had a terrible start to our holiday, firstly our folding camper leaked the night before we left and soaked our beds, so we had to phone and say we would be arriving a day later, they were very helpful and even asked us if we wanted to have an extra day at the end, but we had already booked another site for our next part of the journey. On the way down we had a blow out on the camper and had to change the tyre on the A1 not good, quite scary. We arrived and the staff were lovely and very helpful, they told us were we could get a replacement wheel as the whole wheel was damaged. The day we left our jockey wheel broke and I think it was the manager, said he had a one, we tried it and it worked, he said we could have it for £10 which he donated to charity.
The site is lovely, the hardstanding pitches are separated by hedging so you have privacy and all areas are separated by hedging which is nice. The toilets and showers were lovely always spotlessly clean. The pool was great, the kids loved although as we had a busy time only managed to visit it once. There is a bar which serves meals on a weekend and there is a takeaway unfortunately we never had time to use these. The play area was a little basic, but plenty of room for the kids to play.
It is a lovely site, and if are ever in the area visiting family, would definitely use this site again.
We would definitely recommend this site and would like to thank the staff for all their help whilst we were there.

Lovely park. Wardens very helpful. The bar could do with opening more. I visited with my wife and teenage son and would not go back again in school holidays. To noisy with young children everywhere in close proximity tents. Also pitch sizes need to be bigger. Free Wi Fi was good. Good games room if you had small children. Park and ride was good at water Eaton. Thornhill was good as well. If you use the others you will have to pay to park as well as ride.
We went on a free Oxford walk. The catch is they are not free as they expect a donation.

Checked in upon arrival and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Ordered fresh pastries and a paper for every morning we were there (which I must say were freshly baked and delicious). We were shown to our pitch which was exactly where we had requested when booking. Facilities were clean and tidy - despite being in the school holidays the site was fairly quiet so I'm not sure how clean they would be busier times. Children's play area was adequate and kept our lot happy and out of mischief. Unfortunately there was an abundance of wasps which made every meal or snack a nightmare. Thankfully no one got stung. The 'heated' swimming pool was absolutely freezing, despite the lovely sunshine and solar thermal working to capacity. Being in the solar thermal trade I would recommend the owner gets someone in to look at his set up as it's not doing anything at the moment! The bar and games room was ok although not open much during our stay.

Liked: On arrival we were greeted in a friendly manor and checked in quickly. The toilets and showers were clean but showers were limited to 3 so had to pick your time otherwise had to queue. The pool was very clean and the kids loved it but you do need to take your own chairs at busy times. The bar was also good and the drinks were inexpensive and the wardens were very friendly. Games room also kept the children entertained and was fairly cheap.
Washing up area was good with plenty of room and 4 sinks. Shop did not hold much stock but the fresh bread and croissants were good, although a little pricey.
Surrounding area was fairly good. We ate at The Blacks Head which ws very good value for money. We also visited Annie's tea room and the Jolly Boatman along the canal in Thrupp which were very inviting.
Disliked: The pitches were very small and the 1st pitch we were given we could not get the caravan in let alone the awning and the car. There was a pile of breeze blocks in the corner of the pitch and hose pipes just slung in the corner so felt a bit unloved. At this point we were made to feel it was our fault for having a twin axle caravan, even though we had told them on booking that it was. The next pitch we were given was also too small to have our car parked out of harms way and we did not have any grass to sit on. Staff could be very abrupt at times but then within a few minutes they were trying to be very helpful and very polite again.

Management response: Diamond Park is a small campsite and is advertised as such. This customer booked on 22 July, for arrival on 1 August for a 5 night stay, with a Twin Axle Caravan (no motor mover) and a very large 4 x 4 pickup truck. By this time, choice of pitch would have been limited as we only have 22 hardstanding pitches. On arrival, we tried to fit them onto the allocated pitch, which isn't our smallest, or largest.
Once it was realised that the caravan, awning and large towing vehicle wouldn't fit, we found them another pitch, more open and easier to manoeuvre onto. As the towing vehicle was such a big vehicle, the customer parked it on the main drive and was asked for his comfort and safety to move it to another part of the park. This he did, but then when he had visitors, their vehicle was parked on the pitch.
This customers son was injured following an accident on his bicycle and was treated by one of the managers, but no mention is made of this in his review. |

This site has very good facilities, clean and pretty. We were in the back tent field which did suffer from a huge number of wasps however this could have been a climatic issue as against as problem with the site itself, I do not know. Our pitch had a huge chunk taken out of it at the back that we could not use by some kind of raised bed (nothing in it mind) so was difficult to fit our tent onto the pitch (we do not have one of those massive tents either). I must say the wardens were nice, polite and helpful but we found the managers on this site abrupt and terse on occasions. On the tent in plot issue we were miss informed by one of the managers as to where our pitch finished and that there had to be space to drive a car through (the other manager told us this was incorrect so not exactly joined up) so had to squeeze our tent on as best we could to be told once we had finished pitching we could not leave it there as it was too close. There were other occasions of being spoken to in a bad manner by the managers, once when asking for change to spend in their games room and again when they tried to tell us we had not paid when we had, this is the main reason we would not go back, shame as it is a lovely site.

Management response: The majority of our reviews make a point of mentioning how friendly and welcoming all the staff are and we go out of our way to help people who stay with us. We believe this review was made by a customer who failed to follow the guidelines of the park. This guest ignored pitching guidelines and would not leave the required 3 metre safety gap between her tent and that of her friends. This led to a difficult situation where we had to ask that the tent be moved and in our efforts to be as accommodating as we could by keeping her close to her friend, there was some confusion over where she should pitch. The guidelines regarding extra cars and parking were also ignored and on several occasions, the customer had to be reminded to ask her visitors to return the car to the car park.
Sometimes, particularly during a busy Bank Holiday weekend, mistakes are made and there was a mix up over payment. As soon as this was discovered, we made a point of apologizing immediately. We are never rude to our customers and treat everyone with the utmost courtesy and respect. |

Wonderful site. Amazingly clean. Everything has been thought o. F swimming pool, little shop, take away, pub, games room, bathroom, showers, toilets, even music in the shower block, love it singing in shower morning and night, washing area, kids play area. All so spotlessly clean. Would recommend and stay again and again. Wonderfully friendly couple run this. Anything you want to know they know ie nearest supermarkets, car boots. Will return 2014

We've just got back from a two night stay at Diamond Campsite and had a lovely time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The warden came to check I had got pitched OK (I was on my own with two small children) and came round again when the torrential rain started, helping my friend mend his tent when the zip had broken. The facilities were great and very clean. The children enjoyed playing in the playground and had a great time in the solar heated swimming pool. The shop and bar were great. My only minor quibble is the opening hours - it would be great if the shop was open later than 5 and if the bar and take-away opened before 730. Having said that, it was a lovely site and I'm sure that we will visit again.

A very nice site every thing is clean toilets and showers were warm and I found the food and bar on site twice weekly a great help. The staff are all friendly and a lovely pool we visited most afternoons. Every thing considered we had a lovely holiday. After be stationed at Brize Norton we wanted to visit all our old haunts and was not disappointed as we found Diamond park real handy and close to to all main routes

Had a short break at Diamond and I must say that we have discovered a gem of a site. Easy to get to, excellent facilities with the bonus of the swimming pool which really helped in what turned out to be a scorching weekend.
Only downside was lack of dog exercise as the road which runs alongside the site must be a rat run between Banbury and Oxford - extremely fast traffic most of the day.
Nevertheless an excellent site which we will use again.
