On arrival we found the campsite to be very clean and welcoming. The showers and toilets were clean and the showers hot. The campsite was very well maintained.
We were pitched in Spring Meadow at the far corner and the toilet/shower blocks were a bit of a walk for the children when they needed the toilet. Each tent pitch in Spring Meadow appeared to have its own electric hook up and the water points were easy to find.
There was a good sized field for the dogs to go to the toilet and the field was clean. We were disappointed to find that there was no place for the kids to play in Spring Meadow, if you walked to the caravans you came to a small play area, we think this is meant for people who stay in the Caravans.
There is a shop for basics, and a lovely little garden centre. For a family orientated campsite it was disappointing to find that children under 12 were not allowed in the Restarant, also we were disappointed to find the swimming pool were at an extra cost in one and a half hour blocks.
When we booked the site, and from looking at the website, we were expecting good things, and unfortunately we were a little disappointed. All in all we would return to the campsite, but not with the children.

Positives and negatives for this site.
Positives:-
Very clean, tidy, nice looking site with all the facilities that you could ask for. Nice pint in the Treetop Bar and adequately supplied store. Lovely food in the restaurant and nice little shops to spend 30mins looking in. We didn't use the swimming pool but were told it was nice and clean. Staff were friendly enough and helpful when asked for advice,
Negatives:-
Pitch not very well draining, a puddle developed under our awning which in turn turned the already muddy awning area worse under our ground sheet.
Showers in the block near the reception area had little pressure, water just dribbling out (which isn't good half way through a shower). We discovered the newer shower/toilet block half way through our stay (opposite the static caravan park) which was slightly better.

The Plassey is a great site, extremely clean and well presented with helpful staff and spotless toilets and showers. It would suit a very young family who would be happy with a small park to play on and a swimming pool. For older children or adults the fishing ponds would suit a novice but I think are too small for the more serious angler.
The 9 hole golf course again is a great place for someone who is just starting the game as anything seems to be accepted, clubs, dress sense, etiquette, etc but most holes would be too short for the regular golfer, also it is quite hilly for those who are not to fit although buggies are available.
The mapped walk was easy to follow and took about an hour and our dogs loved it especially the tasty food left by several sheep, more maps with walks of the area would have been very useful.
The Plassey Shippon restaurant is like stepping back in time to the 1970's, whilst the food was perfectly cooked, prawn cocktails in a crystal goblet, steak and chips, the only thing missing for a full house was black forest gateau. There is much better food to be had at the Cross foxes which was a £5 taxi away or 10 minutes by car, also the Boat restaurant and the Buck Inn which came recommended but we did not manage to try them.
All in all a great place but if like us you are in a motorhome which once set up with awning etc does not move you may feel very isolated.

This is lovely site all very clean toilets lovely and clean good facilities on site. Kids loved the play ground and pool but swimming pool got expensive with 3 kids. Shame its not included in the tariff or at least 1 if not 2 children should be included and not extra at £4.50 each.
But still very good site and I do recommend this site to all my camping buddies. This is one of the best sites I have been on and some may say this is wh6 the tariff is high, it just bugs me a little sorry

Very clean, very friendly manicured and well equipped site. We stayed for four nights on a deluxe pitch overlooking the golf course.
Facilities were fantastic, swimming, golf, fishing, badmington, table tennis, lovely shops to walk around, well equipped site shop etc.
The boys spent one day fishing whilst us girls went shopping in Wrexham which has a huge variety of shops and a lot bigger than I really expected. Upon our return we went to meet up with the boys fishing. The fish were playing really well that day and on average, after casting out counted to approximately 5 seconds before they had a bite. A great source of entertainment!
Will definitely recommend and go back again with family.

Positives
Immaculate site
Spotless toilets and showers
Swimming pool warm and enjoyed by kids
Kids enjoyed table tennis
Dee who booked us in was very pleasant & helpful and had a lovely yet firm manner with children when on duty in the pool
Pitch quite roomy – space for car and for sitting out.
It was fairly quiet by 11pm so we were able to get a good nights sleep.
Negatives
The grass on our pitch had been killed off by a previous tent so the bottom of our ground sheet was really muddy when it came to packing up, even though the weather was good.
I think if we were to go back we would ask for a pitch at the end of the meadow as there was more grass for the children to play on.

Firstly let me get to the main thing wrong with the site and then go to all the positives the site has to offer. Main gripe with the camp site is the position of the toilets. The tent field (spring meadows) is the furthest point away from the shower/toilet block ! How can this be ?? Situated right by static and 'here all year' caravans that seem to be abundant on this site, So the tenters have to walk at least 5 mins to get to the block to wash /wash up and relieve themselves.
On the plus side the pitches are large, nice quality grass and the toilets are clean and regularly checked. Staff are helpful and swimming pool shops and games area all good.
Would stay here again

We're just back from a one-night stay at The Plassey. We took our 12 year-old daughter and one of her friends (who had never been camping before). We didn't have our son with us this time as he was away with the Cubs, but it was probably just as well as there isn't really anywhere to play and footballs are not allowed (although you can buy the foam ones in the well-stocked little shop). But that is the only downside we could find!
The site is lovely and well laid out. We had a warm welcome and found that all the staff we came into contact with went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We were shown to our pitch and given lots of information about the site and the surrounding area.
We had a swim. The pool was gorgeous, very warm and not overcrowded. Apparently they limit swimmers to a maximum of 30. We also went on the well signposted walk around the site, golf course and fishing ponds. We also had a drink in the Treetops Bar which was reasonably priced and the girls made use of the playground, arcade, badminton and table-tennis areas. The Edwardian shopping village which is also on the complex was lovely to walk around as well.
The shower/toilet/washing-up block was wonderful. The showers were beautifully hot and it was spotlessly clean. The piped music was a nice touch, too!
This site is pricier than the sites we usually visit (which is why we only went for one night) but also had more facilities than we usually get as well and we would definitely go back again if we were feeling flush!

Having just spent a week here I can honestly say this is a superb site. We arrived on friday afternoon and had the choice of where to pitch,We picked the main field with a hard standing pitch for caravan and the awning on to the grass,
We were helped on to the pitch by one of the staff members and lined up so the pegs would go in to the grass. All the staff were very helpful and always there to give help and info,.
he shop is small but did cover the basics,The toilets/showers were always immaculate and clean. The swimming pool was great My daughter and I had it to ourselves for 1 session(£2.20 per person 90min session).
The treetops bar was pleasant enough only went a couple of times shame they had run out of Plassey beer though. The retail shops, coffee bar and the restaurant on site where all very good. The food in the restaurant was 1st class.
If you like to bbq go to the bottom of the long drive from the site and turn right and after 100 yds on your left there is a very good farm shop go early as it seemed to have a good following.
I asked in the reception if they could recommend a good pub for tea,Yes I was told and they have a bus and would come and pick us up and return us back to the camp for free, they even had the menu in reception, Fantastic.
Spoke to John the owner regarding fishing and hopefully there will be some restocking later this year or next,
If you like your walking there's a very nice walk all the way round the land taking in the golf course, fishing lakes, driving range etc
All in all I would recommend this site,We had a fantastic week there with fantastic weather, superb facilities and met some nice people who had been going there for many years.

We all really loved this site, park was great for the grandkids, as was the pool, while the sauna and bar was a hit for the adults. Nice size pitches and quite level, the shops were a nice diversion the grocery shop seemed to stock a good selection of food and bits and bobs.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. One small point it could possibly do with a bus route pass the main gate.
All in all an excellent site, will definitely be going back Big thanks to all the staff for a great visit
