Not much to add to other reviews, this is a fairly sizeable but really well run site. Toilets and shower facilities are plentiful and immaculately clean - there appeared to be cleaner rotating through the blocks regularly - and the pitches and grounds are well ordered and well kept. Swimming pool wasn't available due refurbishment but it didn't affect our stay because the weather was cold and damp - should be open soon and in fairness they did let us know at the time of booking the week before. Since it was wet - it is in Wales after all - we were limited to walks around the adjoining craft centre, which is very well appointed and has some interesting shops but not enough to entice you back repeatedly. There is a lakeside walk but it was too wet for us to consider. The Tea Room looked really appealing and if the weather is fine there is a garden to enjoy tea outside. Didn't try the restaurant but it seemed to be very popular. There are lots of seasonal pitched caravans and the bar on-site seems quite 'clicky'. It was pleasant but didn't feel too welcoming - maybe if we had visited a few more times we would have settled in. Its convenient for Wrexham, Chester, Llangollen and Oswestry.

We went just for one night to try out our new caravan. The site itself is immaculate with friendly staff. The golf was a huge hit (excuse the pun) with my husband and son, as was the tree top bar which looks like it is a treehouse once you are inside. would certainly come here again.a little on the pricey side though

Just returned from the Plassey Site, stayed on a Deluxe Pitch and it was great. We had running water, grey waste drain and 16 amp electric. The Caravan was on block paving and there was shingle for the awning.( so no muddy feet ).Y ou could face your van any way you wanted as long as your pipes could reach the tap/drain. The Site was very clean and the staff very friendly, lots of Antipodians around not sure if they were Australians or Kiwi`s. The playpark for the kids was good, but it was across a grass field which was waterlogged. While we was in reception we heard people being warned that if the rain didn`t stop they could not come,as all the hard standing had gone. We loved it and would definitely go back,we tried to book for Bonfire Night, again all booked up. One tip, be careful turning towards the Site entrance it is very tight.

We have just returned from this site, they say that first impressions are important, we couldn't have asked for a more friendly welcome. We were given a choice of pitch, we chose a grass pitch in the main field near the play area. This did turnout to be a mistake though, as unfortunately the huge amount of rain on Thurday night meant that the ground became very soft indeed, in fact our friend who was pitched next to us ended up with an indoor swimming pool in her awning but the site staff could not have been more helpful they offered to move her onto a hardstanding but she decided to stay put and the staff bought duckboard over for her to use. The site facilities are absolutely immaculate, the showers were hot and plentiful and included in the pitch price. The onsite shop stocks essentials and is open til about 7pm. The undercover table tennis, badminton and pool were popular and the outdoor play area was a real hit with our 7 year old. There are a good range of pitches on this site and they are nicely spaced with enough room for the awning and the car alongside. The little tearoom was very nice and prices were reaonsable. There are some quaint little shops in the old farm buildings and they are worth a look. The icecream in the farmshop is gorgeous! The site is well laid out, with seasonal tourers together, and the delux pitches in one area, the other pitches are laid out round the edge of two touring / camping fields. Whilst we were there, there was a good mix of caravanners, campers and motorhomes this site relly does suit all comers and all age groups. There was no noise after about 11pm eventhough there were lots of people about, the whole ambience of the site is one of mutual respect. If you can't relax here then you won't relax anywhere! There is a co-op supermarket about 10 minutes drive from the site which was useful. Wrexham is close by and worth a visit - decent size town with all the usual shops plus some smaller independent ones. We are so pleased we found this site as it is an easy drive and only an hour from home - we will definitely be going back.

Arrival: The Plassey campsite is very easy to get to. Simply take the B5426 road off the A483 and follow the signs. It is 2.5 miles down the B5426 and on the left. Do not be worried about the size of the B-road: it is reasonably wide – not like some roads in Wales! When you arrive at the Plassey there is a long drive up their road to the top where you have to make a sharp left to the campsite. There is a sign telling you where to stop for reception. Park to close to it and you’ll be blocking the entrance and exit to the site. The staff in reception are friendly and they will show you to your pitch. Pitches: There are two types of pitches at the Plassey – Standard and Deluxe. The Standard pitches all have 16 amp electricity, some are hardstanding on slabs, some on gravel. The Deluxe pitches all seem to be hardstanding on bricks with a gravel area for the awning and a grass area next to this. The Deluxe pitches are all separated by a low wooden fence, all have 16 amp electricity, water, and drainage. Which pitches are best depends on what you want. The Deluxe pitches are slightly larger and some are closer to the toilet block, although some are still a fair distance from it. They are at the far end of the site away from the main site buildings – shop, restaurant, swimming pool etc, and are the most unsheltered pitches on site. When the wind blows it really blows across the Deluxe pitches. The web site says they are positioned for views across the golf course (the area they are in is named Fairway View) – shame that they all face the wrong way. These pitches are around £6 more expensive than the Standard pitches – whether you feel this is worth it depends on your circumstances. The Standard pitches are in two areas on the site – Main Field and the Spring Meadow. These pitches are generally a good size and are pitched around the outside of both these fields leaving large areas of grass. One problem with this is that this area gets transformed into a games area – football, cricket etc. The campsite does not allow footballs so staff are forever having to stop kids and dads playing with hard balls. Note: there is no separate play field on this campsite, which is a shame. The large play area is also in the Main Field. These areas are more sheltered that the Fairway View area. Other Pitches: The site claims that it does not have static vans on site (I found one but I’ll let them off that), but what they do have are a large number of permanently sited tourer vans. These are mainly situated between the Main Field and the Spring Meadow, although some have overflowed onto the Main Field. I reckon almost half the site must be taken over with these permanent pitches. It doesn’t bother me but I know some people don’t like this in a campsite. Amenities: There is one main toilet block situated between the Main Field and Fairway View. This is kept immaculately clean at all times. One annoying thing about this block is that there is always a low resonating noise coming from somewhere – never did find out what it was. This main block is supplemented by a shower block near reception, toilets by the shop and toilets by the bar. These are all kept clean. Personally I don’t think that in peak season the number of toilets and showers will be adequate for the size of park, especially if many of the permanently sited vans are also being used. The swimming pool is supposed to be available from May. They are building a new one which unfortunately means they have demolished the old one. Currently it looks like a building site; some tiles have been laid but it is far from finished. If the swimming pool is important to you then you should ring them for advice. There are two table-tennis tables, a badminton court, and electronic games all under cover. There is a good restaurant and café on site. We tried both and both were excellent. Sadly there is no takeaway service. There is also a bar on site but we did not try this. The Plassey also has a host of craft shops and a 9-hole golf course if that’s your thing. I don’t play golf so cannot comment on how good or bad the course is. I know it had water, sand, and ups and downs so is probably adequate for a round of recreational holiday golf. The Golf Club also does barbecues and meals for everyone on site. Is it a good site? Yes, I think it would tick a lot of campers boxes for a good site. Some things could be better but you could say that about any site. If it had a separate play field, another toilet block in Spring Meadow, and possibly a takeaway I would rate it as excellent. Places to visit nearby: There are many places to visit. We went to Llangollen, Lake Vyrnwy, Chirk Castle, Ellesmere – all excellent places for walking and within a reasonable distance from the site. We also went to Blists Hill Victorian Village which is just about an hour away at the Ironbridge Gorge. This is a full day out and is very enjoyable. They have a large number of extras in period costume around the place which adds to the atmosphere, and they also tell you about the place and put on shows – not to be missed!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at the Plassey Leisure Park, the site was well run and staff very friendly and helpful, the toilets are immaculate, the only down side was the onsite restaurant was fully booked on saturday night, perhaps when phoning to book site, the office should enquire if you wish to book a table in restaurant. An excellent site!

Just returned from three nights at The Plassey - very surprised to see that all the pitches were taken at first, but soon became clear why. The site is very well managed and spotlessly clean. It stands in 250 acres with golf course, fishing ponds and woodland. There is everything on site that you need and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The Treetops licensed clubhouse is very welcoming and we enjoyed one of the best meals ever at the Shippon restaurant in the Craft Centre area.
The town Wrexham itself is undergoing major redevelopment and I would recommend anyone to keep away until it's completed - the traffic queues are horrendous. Once completed, it's supposed to be an excellent shopping centre

This is a lovely family site ran by some very friendly hardworking people. The children can be entertained with the playground, indoor badminton, games room (pool/ arcade), swimming pool (closed until may). The toilet facilities are very clean modern and heated. The grown ups are spoilt for choice with many shops, multiple eateries (on and off site with walking distance), bars and pubs, hairdresser, coffee shop, golf, pitch and putt (I'm sure that I've missed something). The motor home pitches where easily accessible and since the ground was very boggy when we visited we where directed to the best pitches to avoid getting stuck. As mentioned the a staff where all very helpful. We will definitely be returning !

A very nice site. We visited with a group of friends. (Topo17 and Danlau see previous posts) Yes we would be back again in 2007 but a little later in the year. The Meadows field was a little soft after the rain but the staff will site your van with a little golf kart which was ideal for the soft ground. As the previous post I would recommend the site to any one.
