October 2003 On arrival, the staff were very helpful, showing us to our pitch. We were pitched fairly close to the childrens amusements which the kids loved. We seemed to be amongst mainly other families which is a good idea as it doesn't spoil the enjoyment for those without kids and I felt that I didn't have to constantly check that they were in anyone's way. The toilets/showers were very clean and the little touch of baskets outside them gave a nice impression. We couldn't comment on the club, golf or swimming pool as we didn't use them but they seemed to be sufficient for the size of the camp. The shops were very nice but the one gripe that I did have was that the garden centre looked a little sorry for itself. I enjoyed looking at the other shops a great deal. The only other negative comments that I could give was that the fishing wasn't what as expected, and we decided not to bother and also that it was very dark in an evening, as there was no lighting where we were pitched, but everyone else seemed to know this and had come prepared with torches. All in all, I would like to go back and enjoy some of the facilities that we never used. For the cost and scenery etc, it's well worth a look!

May and June 2003 We have had 2 stays here now. The park is lovely, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers are always clean. There is a craft centre on site, with a small swimming pool, badminton court and table tennis table. As well as a small arcade. Nice walks. We camped in the Meadow Field and the pitch was very big with plenty of space. It is only about 45 mins from us so we will definately be going back in 2004 for a couple of weekend breaks.

October 2003 As arnie says "We'll be back", in the warmer weather, what a great campsite, nearly found myself asking for a job in the garden center, bit run down (I work in one).
Eating places shut early Sunday evening nothing after 6pm but you can get take away food delivered with the menus at reception. A lovey clean site that we may even take the Grandkids to next year.

Aug/Sept 2003 Nice, clean, well-organised site. Reasonable price for caravan pitch. Shop prices were not too expensive either although there is a Kwik Save less than a mile away if you want cheap goods.
Erddig (stately home) is not too far away. The gardens are very nice but the house itself was a disappointment.

August 2003 Having just returned from our first visit to The Plassey caravan/campsite near Wrexham, I was very impressed by what greeted us. On arrival at the reception area, we were met by a very organised lady at the desk, who informed us of the facilities open to us. The site in general was well maintained and very importantly clean - there was plenty of electrical points should you need it - with plenty of fresh water taps. The area for refuse was well signposted and were emptied on a daily basis. The washroom/WC area were very clean and inspected on a regular basis. There was plenty of entertainment for children of all ages - with an on-sight Bar for the Mums and Dads. We would hightly recommend this site.

Aug 2003 This was our first 'proper' holiday in our tent. We loved it so much we extended our stay and we still didn't want to go home! The staff were really friendly and helpful, they worked hard keeping the park clean and the kids off the play park after 9.30 pm. We were right next to the park and we really liked it when they came over to ask the kids to go (it was a little noisy at times, but as we were right next to the park we didn't expect anything else).
There was plenty of hot water, clean loos and warm shower bocks. There were only 2 niggles, not enough showers and not enough laudry facilities. Only 1 washer and dryer on the whole park.
The children want to go back soon, they loved the walks, free fishing and the sports barns were an excellent idea. There is a pound shop in Wrexham that sells rackets and table tennis sets for you've guessed it, a pound! Well worth investing in. I could go on, but it was an excellent first outing.

08/03 Only stayed for one night, wished we had longer as our three year was more than happy on nature trails, picking apples and pears, swimming and playing on the park.
The site was lovely, freindly and very helpful.
The shower blocks were very clean and warm although a few more showers would have been appreciated, mainly due to the hot weather but there were queues at 10.00pm.
A lovely site well worthy of the site fees and a great place for families.
We will be returning soon.

May 2002 Lovely site, plenty of amenities. Lovely modern showerblock with free showers and lots of hot water! Main field for both tents and caravans with 16A electrical hook ups around the edge. Level pitches. Friendly staff, although the shop was a little bit expensive. The indoor pool was basic but good enough to amuse the children, and the lady supervising activities was very friendly. Very nice site.

May 2003 Plenty to do on this site. Fishing, badminton, table tennis, swimming pool etc.Thought there would be more space between pitches and there didn't seem to be a vast amount of showers on the site.Great for the kids though and the 11p.m curfew seemed to be well observed, nice restaurant on site as well as some craft and clothing shops. Staff helpful and friendly, no bikes or skateboards allowed although mini scooters sre in abundance. All in all, an o.k site but have been on better and cheaper ones.

May 2002 This was my first time under canvas, well polypropylene anyway, since I was a venture scout back in the year dot. Being a back to basics purist, all those years ago, with wet and dry lats., Blacks Niger bell-end, ridge tents , watery cocoa, and lumpy porridge etc, I was somewhat reluctant to spend last years Jubilee weekend at Plassey, in a borrowed tent, on a commercial site, still the boys were up for it , and the group are good drinkers so hell, why not. I had a whale of a time. Plassey is great. There is a nice little indoor pool at a reasonable charge, nice clean facilities, particularly the new shower and toilet block, there are fishing pits (not competition standard, but me and the kids enjoyed the fishing) in the fields next to the site, and a golf course adjoining. The complex buildings are the old brick farm buildings, stables barns etc, many of them rented out to local business people , arty crafty things, a small brewery, coffee shops and a restaurant …even a hairdressers ladies, and a smallish bar area. There is an indoor badmington court (in fact there may be two , with one in the loft of a barn), a pool table/games room. The thing that it is missing is a games field, football is not really approved of , but is accepted (just) with a sponge ball. The site despite the amenities has a quiet atmosphere to it (although the people near us might not particularly agree), “curfew” is reasonably, respected and sensibly administered. Anyway we are back this year in my new tent, no it’s not a Blacks Niger bell-end, ridge tent….
