Just got back from our first visit to Plassey.... we go caravanning in a small group several times a year, and I must say how impressed we all were with Plassey. Fantastic Countryside views from our plot up on the Meadows !
Whilst we cannot comment on the swimming pool .... ( unfortunately closed for Easter ! ) the children we had with us enjoyed their stay....on the well equipped play area, & visiting local pubs by the River Dee. ! ( Bangor on Dee & Llangollen )
Toilets / showers are spotlessly clean & the free showers are spacious / really hot.
We had a few meals in the Golf Club & a few scoops in Tree Tops Bar.... all very good value & staff welcoming / helpful...
The small shop seems to have a good stock of everything you may need & reasonably priced..
Only slight concerns were about lack of decent car parking and poor drainage up on the Meadow after recent rain.... ( Mr Brookshaw would have been better spending his money on hard-standings rather than trying to drain clay land ) Easy to get to... only 2 miles along country road from A483. All in all, very pleased.... going back later in year !

June 2005 What a lovely site, very clean facilities, bar on site, golf available with club house serving food all day. Indoor heated pool although we didn't use it. Good play area for the kids. Nice dog area, good walking avaiable. Really helpful staff nothing is too much trouble even when busy. Really enjoyable break, we will be back soon.

May 2005 Just returned from one of many visits to this excellent site.
Can't comment on the swimming pool personally as our children have flown the nest but there seemed to be a lot of children coming out at the end of the session.
Toilets are spotlessly clean and the free showers are really hot.
We had a meal in the restaurant which we thought was really gorgeous, improved immensely over the last couple of years.
The shop seems to stock everything you may need while on site.
My husband enjoyed the fishing and there seemed to be a lot of people using the golf course. The little "cottage" shops are good to meander through to pass an hour.
The only complaint I would have about this site is the golf club itself. There are leaflets in the reception advertising open 7 days a week and serving food. This is not the case, the steward seems to open when he feels like and there was certainly no food. He wasn't very hospitable either, he got up from sitting down when we went in, served us, and then sat down again, as though we were disturbing him.
He lets what is an excellent site down

March 2005 Just got back from this site, what can I say if you have not been - go, the wardens very helpful and always at had, the lady on reception very cheerful and nice. We had a drink on Saturday at the treetops bar and tried the Plassey bitter - very nice, so we had another. Only dissapointment was that the brewery was shut until may, but so what, we are going back so we will go in then.

September 2004 We have just returned from a third visit to this fantastic site.
The toilets and showers were excellent. The whole site is very well kept with plenty to do.
Met the Managing Director this time, John Brookshaw, who is a really nice guy and cannot do enough to help his visitors as is the same of all his staff.
Recommend this site to anyone.

August 2004 Lovely friendly, well managed site. Pitches well laid out around central grassy areas, rejecting the temptation to cram more tents on. Children's playground is located just off the central pitching field, within safe and easy reach for the kids. Good clean loos with showers with adjustable thermostat (a must for toddlers), though on a busy weekend they could do with a few more shower cubicles. Indoor swimming pool at £1 per head, comfortably warm but (probably the only negative) overseen by a real grump of a woman with no affinity for kids and little interest in the pool - just why do these people take on these jobs?? In contrast the rest of the staff couldn't be more helpful.
Although a review below criticises the attention paid to the park rules, having been kept awake till after 3am a few nights running by a rowdy group of families on site, I was one of many delighted at their eventual eviction - it's nice to find a site that cares! We'll definitely be going back to this one, though (oops, another negative...)the site doesn't pre-allocate pitches and as it's always busy you can't guarantee being close to friends.

16th July 2004 This was a superb site. The facilities were first class. The first weekend of the school holidays was always going to be busy, but the facilities were constantly spotless. I can see how they won "Loo of the Year" awards. The deluxe pitch was very generous, overlooking beautiful countryside. Refuse was collected almost every hour from the collection points, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My son had his first ever attempt at fishing. The lady at reception pointed us to the best place for him to start, and he caught his first fish. It was only later that she told me that 600 fish had recently been put in the pond. That's the sort of attention to detail that the owners put into this site. I must mention Barry. He showed us to our pitch and was always pleasant and said hello whenever he passed. The bar was fine, although I only called in to fill a container with the great Plassey bitter they brew on site. I didn't play golf, but the course looked perfectly good, and the swimming pool was fine on a damp Sunday morning. The owner had read this site and was aware that I was to write this review. He posted on a thread in the discussion forum, and even rang me after I arrived home to make sure everything had been ok. That gives you some idea about how weel this site is run. I recommend it most strongly.

May 2004 Just got back after my first weekend out with my first caravan. Great site, plenty for my 11 year old to do, didn't see her all weekend. On the golf course at 8am on saturday, lovely course, but a few aches and pains as it was my first game for 3 years.

April 2004 An excellant site, very clean, although a large site, it still seemed peaceful, it was full at the tail end of the Easter break and would have been perfect if it hadn't rained ! !unfortunately we could only get a grass pitch and it ended up like a mud bath !! luckily they had a tractor to pull cars and vans out of the sh.... It was a shame though 'cos it wouldn't take much to give ALL pitches some hard standing -- spoiling ship for 'aipeth o' tar as my old dad would've said. we'll still go back though, in the good weather it would be hard to fault at all !!

March 2004 We chose the plassey for our first weekend this year. We are a family with three children aged 7,5 and 3 years. We studied the brochure and it looked like just what we would need for a carefree weekend away with our children. We arrived on the Friday evening and were instantly impressed with the service from the wardens in assisting us to the pitch (as it was dark and hard to see around). The very next morning our children were playing on their bikes and were approached by the wardens and asked not to ride, we seemed somewhat puzzled, it did not mention this in the family orientated brochure. The children then got a ball out to play with. This again resulted in the warden approaching my children and asking them to stop. We did in length complain to the owner of the site. We argued that maybe the site could be organised more family friendly, we appreciate people without children want a quiet break, but surely this could be managed so that everyone is happy.
