We have just come back from five days here and I would endorse all the positive comments about the site.
It is in a fabulous location with lots to do in the local area. We enjoyed walks to the beach at Dunstanburgh, Dunstanburgh Castle and to and from Craster. Howick Gardens is well worth a visit (NB. No dogs allowed)
The site has ample clean facilities (loos, showers - 10p gives you good shower, 2 dish-washing rooms, laundry, enclosed bins and recycling point ), lots of hot water, and a clean tidy site.
We had one very heavy rain shower while we were there and the site drains quickly and did not become muddy. All pitches are flat with short grass.
We were shown to a pitch by the owner. With hindsight we should have asked him then for a pitch in the further field. We were unlucky on our third night to find that a groups of five units of parents with children had been pitched either side of us and we were surrounded. It turned out that they had not booked as a group but clearly intended to camp together and we had to ask them to keep noise down at 11pm. We spoke to the owner and things were quieter on their second night.
Other than that the site was quiet and peaceful despite it size - and I would comment that there were far more than the advertised 65 units on site and pitch sizes are not generous. There was no room to park our car beside the tent.
If privacy is important this might not be the ideal site for you. Having said that we will probably be back because the location is so good and the prices are reasonable.
There was local tourist info in the facilities block by the roadside including tide times (Holy Island crossings)and menus. There was also a book exchange and ice pack freezing facilities. (bear in mind this room is locked overnight).
Lots of signs on site so you are clear that there are no ball and frisbee games allowed - obviously because of there isn't sufficient space.

My first visit here. £18 for 3 man-tent, I adult and 2 young children. Showers 10p for approx 10mins. There is one free if you can get there first! Toilet, sink, showers good and clean. Close enough to The Cottage Pub to walk which has a nice bar, beer garden and service. Very short drive to Craster and Beadnal. Stayed midweek, booked on day of stay by phone, plenty of room for more tents. Nice couple who run the place.
Only downside were the children playing football on the centre of the site until 9. 30+pm. Either the parents couldn't read the signs saying no ballgames or they couldn't care less.

I love this place, it is quiet, relaxed and in a beautiful part of the country. Discovered it last year and have been back several times. The site is quiet, well run and friendly. Toilets and showers are spacious and always spotless.
There is a great wee, dog friendly, local pub, The Cottage, about half a mile away which does excellent real ale and food. Give your mouth a treat and try the Craster Kipper Pate washed down with a pint of Tyneside Blonde. Get there early on a Saturday night if you want a seat as there is normally a band playing from 9:00pm.
You're spoiled for choice if you're looking for something to do in this area. There are some exhilarating coastal walks, fascinating castles, seaside towns, Lindisfarne, Cragside and Alnwick all a short drive away.
Don't all flock there at once, leave a space for me.

It's the second time we have stayed at this lovely little site and it really is a little gem. The owners are very helpful and friendly. It is a very laid back site with nice people staying on it. Showers clean and roomy. Gardens great. Price ok. Nearby pubs are The cottage (friendly locals and reasonable prices) food ok but chips could be better. 15 min walk into Kraster and the jolly fisherman, BOTH LET DOGS IN. Do buy some fish in craster as it is spot on. Howick gardens down the coast, Earl Grey used to live there (prime minister). To the north try Embleton bay. All in all a great little site with loads of great surroundings

An excellent site with simple but very clean facilities
Toilet and showers are kept spotless, the site is well placed for
Good walking and cycling along the Northumberland coat
And is within easy reach of Alnwick or Berwick upon Tweed
My wife and I had a meal in the Cottage Inn, about ten minutes walk away from the site, a truly enjoyable experience.
With good choice of food on the menu. And impressive sized portions for your money eg. 2 starters + 2 main courses and a couple of drinks each all for less than £50, what more could you ask?
To sum up a lovely site in lovely surroundings.

2nd visit.
Lovely rural site. Basic but that's what I like about touring. Toilet and 10p showers good. No dedicated pitches ample space well drained. Shown to your area by the owner on his cycle. Milk eggs and orange available from the ajoining farm. Local pub down the road. Craster mile down the lane with shop, tourist info shop, kipper house tasty and a lovely cafe. Good touring Northumberland. Not over priced. Recommended.

We visited this as a second stop on our holiday and very nearly cancelled as we were so happy at our first site in Whitby. However, we were extremely glad we didn't cancel as this is a lovely site. The lanes to reach it are slightly snug so be warned, although the owners of the site do give you some directions about the best route into the site and these are definitely worth following. We were greeted by a lovely man on a bicycle who we followed to our pitch.
The pitches weren't uniform and we didn't have any hard standing but neither of these things bothered us in the slightest - it all added to the charm of the site. The showers were basic but there was plenty of hot water as long as you had enough 10p's. The only problem was you had to step out of the shower to reload which could be a little chilly! There was a washing machine and tumble dryer both which had a small charge but were both big enough to mean you could manage with just one load.
This was a really simple site but it attracts some friendly people and we found ourselves speaking to everybody on trips to and from the showers! This is a hidden gem of a site and we will definitely be returning.

I thought this was a lovely campsite. Others have commented on the old facilities or the fact that there isn't a clear deliniation between the pitches, but that's what I liked about it. I like sites which are a bit more natural and not pristine - if that's what you want you'd be better off in a b & b!
We chose the back field and our motorhome backed onto a field of cows, very rural! I enjoyed the laid back feel of this site. I thought the nearby pub was ok, because it was easy to walk to, but it was hot and stuffy and the food only so-so. I would definitely return to this site.

This is a lovely site, the owner takes you to your pitch on his push bike.
£21 per night for tourer 2 adults awning and 1 dog, showers are 10p so we thought the fees were a bit expensive.
No dog walk only a grass verge on the road, but a lovely beach just a few minutes drive up the road.
The beaches on this coast are out of this world and very child friendly and also dog friendly.
Would go back to this site again

Loved this campsite and will be going back again. Facilities were always clean, didn't have to queue at all to use anything, even when the site was fully booked at the weekend. 10p for a shower.
The owner takes you to the pitch. £21 for a four man tent. Milk, orange juice, eggs and pop available from the bungalow.
Short walk to Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle and short drives to places of interest in Northumbria. Only downside was the pub food at the local pub wasn't very nice.
When we go back we will try the Jolly Fisherman.
