We stayed for the 3 nights over the early May Bank Holiday from 4th May 2012.
This is a nice & tidy small site in a great location. The toilets and showers are in individual cubicles, which are a bit dated but kept clean. (You need 10ps for the showers, but very hot as elctric type so good). There is no play area and quite a lot of signs saying no ballgames, so I don’t think it would be ideal for families.
Nearby pub (the cottage inn) is very nice pub, good beer/ food/ Wi-Fi. Shortish walk to Craster and to Dunstonburgh castle.
Owner helpful, he took us up to the pitch on his bike, showed us the best way to pitch our tent as it was a bit windy and we had a good size pitch. Pitches are not numbered, they just allocate as you arrive, but you can request an area to be in as there are 3 fields. We stayed in middle field with electric hook up (10amp). All in all a good little campsite with helpful owners, but also a quiet site which is what we wanted.

Very nice basic site neat and tidy in a very nice location. Views are spot on plenty of good walks, Dunstanburgh castle about 2 miles, very pleasant walk. Pub in Craster with nice pint of golden sheep jolly sailor I think. Pub in Dunstan does very good meals and nice real ales. Went to holy island for the day beautiful place had a pint of blessed bitter pardon the pun. Only downside about the site the toilets need some heating if your on the loo or in the shower and the wind is blowing off the sea it gets a tad cold but they are clean. Canny bloke on a bike shows you to your pitch which are roomy. Also no playpark.

We stayed here for a week including the Easter weekend, throughout this busy period the facilities were always immaculate. The site was not overcrowded and you felt that there was space around you. The site is in a lovely location and in walking distance of a pub where we enjoyed Sunday lunch. We were able to walk to the small village of Craster where you can sit outside on the sea front. It is only a short drive to Alnwick. Mr & Mrs Davidson were friendly and helpful. We are hoping to return again soon!

Stayed here for 2 nights and found the site to be immaculate. Perfect for touring the area on bikes. Found the owner Mr Davidson to be very helpful and informative, always a smile on his face and a great host. Would highly recommend this site.
Extremely clean toilets and wash areas, well signed facilities and immaculate grounds.
The local pub -The Cottage, served excellent foods portions quite large but tasty. The village of Craster is small but can but various types of fish and sea food including the famous kippers.

I love this site. Have stayed here a number of times and it is always consistently good.
You are taken to your spot by he owner himself which avoids folk setting up on top of each other.
I've camped here twice now with my 7 year old, and he loves it. I feel safe letting him roam around and explore. The toilets are immaculate and there's always plenty of hot water for washing up.
The area is stunning and you won't be disappointed if you make the effort to walk the mile or so to Dunstaburgh Castle. Craster is the nearest village which is lovely and unspoilt. The Jolly Fisherman has improved vastly over the last year, and does great food (it was a dump last year).
The nearest pub is the Cottage Inn which is only half a mile, or less and has a great outside adventure play area for kids. They also do great food and a selection of real ales alongside the usual tramp-juice.
There is fresh milk, eggs and orange juice available, operated with an honesty box system which is handy.
I'll be back here over and over. A hidden gem!

Location:
Well located within easy walking distance of the lovely village of Craster, this site is an excellent base for exploring the Northumberland coast. Nice walks from the site. Helpful staff. The pub in Craster is OK, but I'd highly recommend the Cottage Inn, a 5 minute walk from the site, with it's great food, WiFi and big screen.
Facilities:
The toilet and shower facilities are very well kept - they were always spotless and pitches were kept very tidy.
Prices:
£18 per night for motorhome with two people and electricity. Good value for facilities and location.

I was tasked with taking an 8 year old on his first camping trip, to prepare him for future camping trips with the cubs later on next year. This site was perfect for him as he was able to pitch and strike the small tent, he also found the local area great fun to explore. The washing up & showers were great and he still talks about returning again as he had a great time at the site. Thanks again to all

On a cycling tour so just stayed here for one evening. There's a mixture of caravans, motor homes and tents on site. Tents are pitched in separate fields on a nice flat pitch.
There weren't many tents when I was there so plenty of room. Great facilities. Very clean. 10p for decent shower.
Organised very well with plenty of recycling. Friendly owner and peaceful, well-run campsite.
Craster is a really nice village and you an walk to Dunstanburgh castle easily enough. Very beauitful part of the country.
Personally probably wouldn't have a week long holiday here though. More of a long weekend destination for me.

This is a lovely well kept site. The area is quiet and only a short walk into the village and down to the harbour at Craster - famous for its smoked kipper. Dunstanburgh Castle can reached by walking through Craster. We were there when it was the RNLI summer fete and my grandson loved it there was lots of action and demonstrations. The proprietor of the site is really helpful and friendly. The toilet and shower block was really clean and well looked after.

Arrived at 8 o'clock and owner very helpful-showed us our pitch and sold milk, juice etc too. Pub nearby very friendly and food excellent especially fish. Very dog friendly we took out collie and Labrador in and they even got a treat from the owner!Lovely walk to Dunstanburgh castle and into Craster from opposite the site.
Toilets clean and showers hot (cost 10p and lasted ages).
Busy site with lots of overseas visitors and families.
We would definitely recommend this site and will be returning soon.
