Lovely site Quiet location well worth a visit. Level with some shelter from a tall hedge, well maintained and quiet, no set play area for children. Toilet block, always clean, plenty of room in all the shower cubicles for changing, plenty hot water, remember the 10p's. Nearest small shop is at Craster 5mins by car. Main shopping, Alnwick 7 miles or Seahouses 10 miles.
We will be visiting again.

Great Little site, I dont understand why a previous review said that the owner was a bit grumpy, He spoke every time he passed and always had a little time for a chat. He escorted us to our pitch when we arrived. Toilets were an older style block but very very clean every time you used them, 10p for a shower but good electric showers. One thing I would say is that if you are in a touring caravan try to get a pitch around the edge of the field rather than stuck out in the middle of the field. The cottage restaurant is a five minute walk away although I dont understand all the raves about the food, it is just pub food nothing special You can walk to Craster about 5 mins away, and short drives to Alnmouth, Beadnell & Seahouses.

Lovely flat site close to Craster and coast. Perfect for touring round this wonderful unspoilt area. Site was spacious and toilets and showers clean and warm at all times if a little dated. Nice pub serving real ales is a 5 minute walk away and a second pub in Craster is only about 15 to 20 minutes stroll. Owners sell milk juice and water from a crate on the step with a trust box for payment which is a nice touch. I agree with the comment that the owners come over as a bit grumpy but they couldn't have been more helpful so Im convinced its just shyness. Would use this site again.

What a great campsite. Lovely location, tucked away behind the coast at Craster; 25 minutes walk across the fields from Dunstanburgh Castle. Facilities - simple, exceptionally clean and well maintained. The owner, not a man of many words, but very friendly and very helpful. He offered to pump up our mattresses when our pump broke. The site was clean and spacious and as many people describe it - not crowded when the 'site full' notice went up. A real family site - where the kids all mix in and play in the middle. Lots to do in the area, Alnwick Garden and the Farne Islands are a must. Holy Island and the castles and beaches are lovely too. Definitely worth a visit!

The location of this site is great, and the facilities are spotless. Owners had a tendency to be a bit on the grumpy side and I don't think mowing the lawn on a mower tractor, around caravans that are already pitched is a great idea, but hey! It cost us £10 for one tent, two people and one car which is quite good value. Showers are nice and hot and cost 10p for about 3 to 4 minutes. As the site wasn't full when we were there I can't comment on busier periods, but whilst we were there everything was kept really clean. We will definitely be back.

Flat, well drained grass. Did get rather crowded over bank holiday weekend, but we never had to queue for the loo or shower, and they were always clean. No loud music, very quiet at night. Appeared to be young families or older retired couples. Surrounded by cows and sheep, and only a short walk from the excellent Cottage Inn.

This is an excellent site, the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. We arrived just after 7.00pm and were shown on to a pitch with hook up. All the pitches are grass but in good condition and appear to be well drained. The toilets and other facilities are spotlessly clean and are kept that way throughout the day. Although the site takes tents they are pitched away from the caravans avoiding disturbance. The local pub is a very short walk and sells food. The beer was good however it doesn't allow dogs which was a slight inconvenience for us. We'll be returning to this site this year and I'm sure many more times in the future.

Just returned from a most enjoyable week. Although 'campsite full' sign displayed over the Easter weekend did not feel at all crowded, toilets facilities were spotless throughout our stay. Friendly hosts who were very helpful when we arrived. Would definitely make a return visit to this site. Milk, eggs, fruit juice available on site + shop in the village. Good walking country plus two pubs and a seafood restaurant all within walking distance, try them all, we did. Marks out of ten. TEN!

Adequate site regarding toilets, showers, washing up etc. But very exposed to wind as it's very near the coast. Caravans probably fair better than tents as they had some shelter from Leylandii. Useful supply of milk, eggs and soft drinks at owner's bungalow. Booking was a nightmare - the reply to my email after 2 days just asked me to phone, I phoned lunchtime to be told ring back at 5, I phoned at 5 to be given the same "I'm trying to sort things out" answer until I complained I was phoning back as requested when they managed to let me book my pitch (for a three man tent so shouldn't be that tricky!). I only persisted as I wanted to be near Alnwick.

First time camping (excluding stints at Glastonbury festival). Chose this site based on other reviews and it lived up to expectations. Nice and quiet, friendly management, clean site. Facilities were simple and very clean. Location is perfect, with walks and beaches close by. The busy town of Alnwick is only 7 or so miles away. Thought the Cottage Inn food was very good value for money, large portions, good quality and average pub prices.
