This isnt a site that we would normally choose,as we prefer something more rural. But we were visiting family in the area this site was our only choice.
On arrival we booked in as normal and were shown to our pitch the first thing that we noticed, were the aircraft going overhead every few minutes, but after a very short time you no longer heard the noise from the aircraft or the busy road nearby.
We found the site to be clean, tidy and litter free. The toilet block was maintained to a very good standard.
We found very good walks over Chertsey Bridge along the Thames riverbank. An excellent walk for dogs on a large park close by.
Opposite the site is a fuel station with a convenience store open until late. In the town of Chertsey is a large Morrisons supermarket.
We have a large caravan and we found the pitch ample, even with an awning erected.
We found it a convenient base for what we needed at the time.
The staff on site were pleasant and helpful.
We will return at some time in the future.

Visited here over Christmas week including New Year's eve & thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We are new to caravanning since the end of October having previously camped for a couple of years, but would not have dreamed of camping at this time of year!
We had trouble with traffic travelling down & arrived a little late, but the Site Warden / Assistant were still on hand to make sure we were welcomed.
Good access (by car) to large supermarkets, but easy walking to 2 pubs / restaurants - Boat House & Kingfisher - excellent atmosphere & dining at Kingfisher, didn't get chance to try the Boatyard.
Lovely walk available alongside Thames adjacent to site.
Toilets & showers clean & warm as expected.
Must confess we had planned to attend the site's organised New Year's eve party, but got too chilled out in the van - too much wine & champagne to blame, but party looked well planned & attended.
Would thoroughly recommend & have no hesitation in visiting again.

We have just spent 3 days here over the new year and all I can say is WOW.
We loved the campsite, the staff were fantastic and organised a wonderful new years eve, the facilities were of a very high standard and immaculately clean and the campsite itself was in a fabulous location, well laid out and very pretty and tidy.
Chertsey itself is lovely and has so much to offer, but there is also so much to do in the area, we spent a great new years eve day in Windsor which took only 20 minutes to get to, we drove into central London in 30 minutes and Hampton Court Palace is minutes away but we still feel like we only tipped the iceberg of places to visit in the area and we will definitely be going back - soon!
I would recommend this site to everyone.

Great location with some of the best facilities we have encountered.
We were pitched right alongside the Thames and could watch the world float by at our leisure.
The staff were at all times helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay a joy. Our children enjoyed the play area and the indoor games room not once did we hear 'i'm bored'
The local pubs especially the kingfisher all serve food and are excellent.
All in all a great location nicely kept and helpfully staffed in fact we have been back twice now!

We (a family of 4) stayed at Chertsey for the second time this year (the first time 6 years ago), and found it a very agreeable site, albeit pricey.
Although it was the high holiday season, the site was not overcrowded. We had booked in advance, and the booking had been handled very well (as always with the Camping & Caravanning Club).
The site facilities were clean and of good standard, no waiting times for showers. Alas, there is no shop at the site, and for our morning rolls we had to resort to the nearby Sainsbury's (5 mins by car, walking not recommended).
A special feature: The site has its own mooring where we could launch our rowing boat for a tour on the Thames.
We used the site as a base for day trips to Central London which is about 1 hr by car (even more by public transport, we didn't try that this time).
As for the planes mentioned in earlier posts: Yes, they are frequent, but I didn't notice them at night, which might be the most important point.

A caravan and camping club site in a beautiful location, right next to the River Thames.
The pitches are well sheltered as most are under huge tree's. The noise, however, is probably its only downfall. The site is next to the weir/locks, and the sound of the water is quite loud. There is also the M3 close by and finally, Heathrow! However, its proximity to London and beautiful location make it hard to beat in that area. There are also quite a few midges around the pitches closest to the river.
There are pubs both sides of the bridge crossing the Thames, just outside the site. Both with excellent food.
The shower/toilet blocks are quite adequate for the amount of pitches and hot water for the showers was constant.
Excellent site, well placed for London, although earplugs mightbe an asset!

This was our first trip in our motorhome so was trial and error on what to expect
With travelling down from the north we were very tired when we got there, had a lovely friendly welcome from reception- was all very easy to check in
Alan showed us to our pitch and gave us a run down of where to find everything, the site was very well kept and clean
Toilets and showers very clean but be aware you may have to queue for showers early in morning.
Airplane noise wasn't half as bad as we thought it was going to be- in fact the boys were fascinated it by them - kept them amused for ages lol.
We visited lego and attempted Chessington but when we got there found it was shut to a power cut argghhhhh.
Would just like to thank the lovely man who owned a camper van a few pitches up that helped us out when we got in bother with our gas- we unfortunately had a slight leak but is all fixed now.
Would definitely return to this site again if ever visiting that part of the country again, we are now planning our October trip in the north east.

This is the first time we have used this campsite as we are relatively new to camping.
Booking in was easy and staff were really helpful. We chose a pitch with electric hook up and were lucky enough to be set back next to the beautiful river. It was a fabulous setting, with the only noise being the odd passing boat or river barge! Overhead there was some aircraft noise, however, we soon got used to this and did not really notice after the first night.
Facilities were spotlessly clean and well maintained. The site in general has everything that you could need and is an excellent base for those wishing to visit London and theme parks. Local garage nearby supplies daily papers, milk, bread etc and there is a Sainsburys 5 minutes away. A handful of small pubs nearby and a cheaper Hungry Horse restaurant 10 minute drive away ( very cheap food, great for kids with a good play area)
Spent a day in London via train ( cost £5 to park in wareham ( 15 min drive from chertsey) the family railcard covers tubes and trains into central london ( £25 for 5 of us!) - Great value
Thorpe Park only 10 mins away - a fantastic day out for all the family.
On the whole will definitely come back, will be visiting Chessington next time! and perhaps a show in London. Fantastic, lovely site, great 'neighbours' - really friendly.

Spent a long weekend here the first weekend in May. We were extremely impressed from the start - very helpful and friendly staff to welcome us even though they'd had to stay later than usual due to us being caught in traffic. A very friendly chap cycled us to our pitch (fully serviced) and helped us back into it. The site itself is very well kept and the shower / toilet block was exceptionally clean and tidy.
It is very close to the river and there is a brilliant children's playground about 15 minutes walk along the river. (There is a small play area on site too).
There were a few points I would make though:-
1. The showers are on a timer which is way too short - about 15 seconds! I know the idea is to save water and get people in and out quickly but you spend so long pushing the button you end up taking twice as long!
2. The barrier was very noisy and creaked whenever someone entered the site - you could hear it inside your caravan.
3. It is under the Heathrow flight path - fab for me as I love planes - but some may not!
4. The TV hook up did not appear to work for us - maybe it was just a problem with just our pitch because we have not had a problem before?
Overall - a great site and a brilliant weekend getaway for us as it is not too far on a Friday night and is very near to Chessington & Thorpe Park.
Would stay again.
