Lovely campsite. I note that some reviews complained about the noise. It is true that it is near the motorway so there is constant noise. However, it is a constant drone in the background and we didn't notice it after a while (and we live deep in the country where it is very quiet, so we don't have a very high tolerance for noise. ) Airport noise; planes coming in to land; not particularly noisy and no flights at night.

Had a great Easter here, a return visit after 14 years.
This large site separated into 2 parts by a road to a private house. The larger part of the site fronts on to the River Thames, we were in the smaller area. Even though it was a busy, bank holiday weekend, we got the feeling of staying on a much quieter site, being in this area. Since our last visit, the main shower block has been refurbished. There are more showers than I remember before and I didn’t experience any queues, despite this being a busy Holiday weekend. The facilities were well maintained and kept clean for the busy weekend. The only let down was the Wi-Fi which was very hit and miss, despite being close to an aerial. I am advised that the wi-fi system is due a revamp for next year. Some people may find the jets from Heathrow a nuisance, but it did not worry us. Fish and Chips available from Catering Van on Fridays & Saturdays, with breakfast available on Saturdays & Sundays.
HSM team friendly and efficient. Always willing to answer any queery.
Site is handy for many attractions including Thorpe Park, LEGOLAND, Windsor Castle, Brooklands Museum and Mercedes Benz World.

Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy stay. As a camper I was given a muddy field next to the road whilst the motor homes got nicer plots in the middle. Some of the staff friendly, one of the managers distinctly frosty/unhelpful. The facilities clean, but broken shower locks and toilet locks that fell off when you touched them i. E. The site have not bothered to fix them. Also main toilets/shower room shut at 10. 30 in the morning for cleaning for an hour and a half every day. It was also extremely noisy from the M25 and the planes flying overhead. A very tiny playground and nowhere else for children to play, and on the edge of a weir. I felt it was too far from London, and also expensive.

Another fantastic trip to this site. We were pitched on the 'island', which is great to watch the boats on the Thames, but would imagine it could get very muddy in very wet weather and a bit of walk to the shower block.
The gents showers have been refurbished since my last visit, which are nice.
The staff are always helpful, even when we arrived earlier than the official opening time.
Location great for visiting London.

Decided to camp close to home, the camp site was great, the staff were friendly and the facilities were clean and spotless. The only negative was being in the flight path of heathrow and it was a little irritating, but they can't move heathrow or the campsite - but it was my only gripe. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to camp close to the capital.

What a fantastic site this is. There is a cafe on site, which we thought was very expensive, i. E. A one egg roll £3. 50, cannot justify that, we are vegetarians and that was all that was on offer. Very clean and tidy, very well maintained, super staff, very helpful. Two pub/restaurants within 7 mins walk. The Bridge Hotel and The Kingfisher, fabulous food in both, but service was very slow, but otherwise really lovely, and we wouldd recommend them. Have fun !

Despite the positive comments I read before visiting this campsite, I did not think it worthy of the top band bracket pitch fee a night. Was given a muddy field and given no choice where to pitch even though I could see other choices available. Didn't find the wardens particularly helpful or friendly compared with other sites and I have been to and I have been to loads. Would I stay again? No! Felt tent campers given poor service here and the site is more suited to motor homes and caravans. Yes it is close to London, but so are other sites and the cost not so high. I felt a lack of personality and a can't be bothered attitude on this site. Didn't see the wardens about to chat to, or ask for advice which I have seen on equally large sites. Despite wet weather the recreation hall advertised. With TV was never open through my holiday. Lots of people peered through the windows, clearly wishing to get access. Instead greeted with dead flies on window sills. In all not a great stay. It is noisy from planes, but due to closeness of Heathrow it is to be expected and road noise also. It didn't bother me too much, , but as a Club Member, didn't feel as I was on a Club Site at all. It's a great location for Windsor etc, busy roads though, but with a little TLC and perhaps just for a night or two OK, but a two week holiday, perhaps not!

This was a good campsite, with hard ground pitches.
The facilities are good and well kept.
I walked into town (15 minutes) and got Fish and Chips from the local chippy, which were very tasty.
We enjoyed our short stay here although found it quite expensive compared to other sites we stayed at.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
As we were heading for the West Country we didn't have much time here, but it seemed well kept and well organised.

We are a family with two boys, aged 9 & 6. We were looking for a site to use a base to visit Thorpe Park, Chessington Zoo, LEGOLAND and a day trip to London. The site is very well kept and set in a natural environment, woodland area next to the River Thames.
Across the road from the site is a handy Spar that is open 24hrs.
A 2 minute walk over the Thames and you will find the Kingfisher Pub, great VFM, service and food.
We took our dog, some of the theme parks have Kennels, but they looked horrible and I would not want to leave our dog their all day. Our dog was welcome on the site, we hate using kennels so we used a local dog sitter (day and nights available) to look after him whilst we went out for the day, dropping him off in the morning and collecting him after our day out. The lady looks after them at her own house with a few acres of land for them to play in all for only £15 a day, for more info contact Sonia on 07723 014258We are a family with two boys, aged 9 & 6. This made our holiday, it meant we could take our dog with us, have a great day out without worrying, then collecting him at the end of the day. Most days he came back shattered. Running with the other dogs all day!
So, in summary, this is a great site for families looking to visit the theme parks. Running with the other dogs all day! I asked Sonia if I could post her details on here so that others who have dogs and want to take them away can get in touch. We only found Sonia by chance, I am so glad we did, the service is brilliant, as a dog lover, we want the best for our pets. Only a ten minute drive from the site as well.
So, in summary, this is a great site for families looking to visit the theme parks.

This was a very well maintained campsite with superb toilet facilities and a high quality of pitches including super pitches with running water and grey waste drainage. As long as the rush hour around Heathrow is avoided then access to towns in the West London area (eg Hounslow) is straight forward. There is a really nice pub called 'The Bridge' just 5 minutes walk away and there is a 20% discount for C&CC members. The site is next to the River Thames although it's not the nicest part of the Thames and it is dominated by a weir. It's a town site so there is road noise, especially from the motorway, but it's not too intrusive. The wardens were friendly and were happy for me to leave my caravan there during the day while I worked nearby.
