This is my idea of what a campsite should be, open, spacious, well maintained. The welcome - including expertly guiding me reversing into position - was superb. I was just there for two nights but if I ever need to be near that area again, this is where I will stay. I had a fully plumbed Super Pitch which was more than big enough. The shower block is light, airy and clean, though functional rather than luxurious. Some aircraft noise but not as troublesome as I feared it might be.

We spent a long weekend at here beginning of month. The reason being that it was so close to home in case there was a problem with our new tent, needless to say there wasn't. We asked for and got a pitch right by the river and it was glorious-so was the weather! It is a beautiful environment and worthy of a visit, the staff were friendly and helpful. The Boathouse was visited by us and our daughter and we felt the meals were good value for money.-if you could eat it all-worth noting some of the menu was available in smaller portions. We most definitely will be returning, though I was at first reluctant to put in this review . I don't imagine we would all arrive together! Of course it goes without saying that the shower/toilet block was as you would expect from the C&CC.

Site is handy for visiting Legoland / Thorpe Park. Very noisy at night with aircraft going over up until 11pm which is understandable as right by Heathrow. Nice views across the river. Thought the pitches could have been kept a little neater where we were - lots of stinging nettles around the fence edges which could have been strimmed in my opinion. Nice facilities, you do need 20p for hair dryer which was a pain! Nice couple of pubs across the river The Kingfisher food seemed the nicest to us, but the Boathouse did more children's meals. Did have to pay for electric which we didn't need as our tent is so large!

We took a last minute 4 night break, taken at the end of February. It snowed on our last night. The facilities were excellent and really warm even at night. Altough you will need a decent torch as the site was poorly lit in places. You would not believe how close you were to the centre of London, right by the river and with numerous squirrels, wild birds, ducks and geese etc.
Local pubs/restaurants were within a 5 minute walk ( The Boathouse and The Kingfisher) Both were excellent value and very friendly. You get 10% off your meal if you pick up a voucher from reception for the Boathouse restaurant.
Hard standing pitches were not very level, and wedges were needed on most. Quiet and friendly and less than 10 minutes from the M25.

Very good site, well managed by friendly staff. A site with very good facilities - the shower block is excellent and was always clean. The site is handy for trips to London attractions, Legoland and many others. Being near to the motorway you can always hear the sound of traffic - this is only to be expected.
Used this site whilst attending the Caravan Show - the site staff even arranged coach transport at a reasonable price per head. (How about a coach for the Ideal Home Exhibition?) Highly recommended.

Excellent site overall. What you would expect from a c&cc site. There is continuous dull hum of traffic noise from the nearby M25, and if you pitched by the river the sound of the weir. The river observation deck must be excellent in the summer. Two good pubs near by the one next to the site seemed a family one, the one over the river The Kingfisher a little quieter.

The site was full (24th Sept)which we weren't expecting but the site had well spaced pitches and was so quiet that we didn't notice. The site is in a fantastic location next to the river Thames so our children enjoyed seeing ducks , swans and fish and loved collecting bags of conkers from the numerous horse chestnut trees on site. There was a lovely childrens' play area and wonderfully warm and clean toilets and showers inside a clubhouse/rally meeting building.
There was noticeable noise from being under the Heathrow flightpath but this seemed to stop about 11pm. There is only a very minimal selection of goods for sale at Reception so come prepared with bread etc but there is a Jet petrol station over the road if desperate.
A neat and thoughtfully kept site run by friendly and helpful staff - would love to go there again and use the new decking /picnic bench area which has just been built next to the river -great for a glass of wine /morning coffee while the kids play nearby !

May 2005 Just returned from a six night stay at this site. Superb site with two pubs within walking distance (didn't get to use them enough). Excellent shower facilities, some lovely walks from the site. Found the camping and caravanning staff to be very friendly and approachable.
Transport to London really cheap and reliable, family ticket for return train journey from Weybridge roughly £16.00 this also includes the use of the tube and buses. Will definitely be going back to see another show (we saw Chitty Chitty bang bang whilst there.
One thing worth noting, there are quite a few of hard standing pitches, remember to take some rock pegs with you, when we got there the camp shop had sold out and I had to go to the local camping shop to get some.

May 2005 Just returned from 5 day stay on this site. Toilet and shower areas fantastic and brilliant location for visiting London and Windsor. Only drawback was the noise from aircraft flying over as the site appears to be on a main flight path from Heathrow. Noise continued from 7.00am - 11.00pm. If going into London, buy a travelcard from Chertsey for £10.20 adults and £5.10 for Child. These cards cover all rail.underground and bus travel to and whilst in London. Only drawback when travelling from Chertsey is the journey takes about an hour as it stops at every station on the way to Waterloo!

April 2005 Just arrived back home after 6 nights on this excellent site. Best shower/wc facilities I have ever seen in the UK! Lovely location right next to River Thames and only 3 miles from a straight through train route to London Waterloo, which takes 30 minutes. Buy a Family Railcard before you visit, and you save quite a bit on rail fares. Small children's play area, and 2 pubs within walking distance.
One point to remember - Don't go towards the town centre after leaving the M25 - follow the brown camping signs. We didn't see one and ended up nearly wedged down a side street!
