We have just returned from a long weekend in Chertsey, and it was absolutely wonderful!
The wardens were helpful and friendly - we got a lovely welcome!
We had a `Super Pitch` with water and waste hook up and we found it so easy to use. One comment we would make is that it might be helpful to know what type of connection is needed on the tap.
The site itself is beautifully kept - some of the pitches were a bit messy and couldnt exactly be called 'grass', but I am sure this wouldnt be a problem.
The onsite shop actually consists of 2 shelves in reception selling about 4 different tins and a fridge with nothing but lemonade in!
We used the site as a base to explore London and it was great - 20 minute walk into the town centre then a train into Waterloo.
Chertsey itself didnt have a great deal to offer - we walked into the town and it was deserted!
We used both of the local pubs - The Boathouse and The Kingfisher. We found The Boathouse a little too 'modern' - cold and unwelcoming. We ate at The Kingfisher and it was good, the place was packed but we were served quickly and it was hot and tasty. In both we found the beer expensive - but I suppose that has to be expected inside the M25.
My one and only grumble is that there are no power points in the toilet block. The block itself is stunning - clean, warm, modern, spacious - however there is no-where to plug in your hairdryer or straigtners (both are essential for me!)
As for the previous comments about the Airplanes - we heard them, but it wasnt a problem and it was quite nice watching them go by.
The only reason we wont return soon is because we arent visting any site twice untill we`ve done them all, but we certainly wont avoid it.

We stayed at this site for four nights over the October half term. I think we were quite lucky for three of the four nights, as it seemed that the aircraft must have been using a different flight path and we heard nothing. The noise of the M3 was quite noticeable though. On the final night all aircraft were taking off right over our heads and they were literally every minute. Some of them made the caravan vibrate ! This didn’t bother us too much and apart from that one minor thing, we thought this site was fantastic. The shower block had won the Camping & Caravanning Club Loo of the Year Award 2007, and I can see why. The block was very modern and warm, with large shower cubicles and plenty of them. Our girls loved the play area and made lots of new friends. There were some beautiful decking areas right beside the river, with picnic tables where you could enjoy watching the boats go by. Thorpe Park, Windsor Castle and Legoland are very close by. We had a fully serviced pitch and we felt that this was very roomy. Lots of bunnies running around in the evening. Very wooded site. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base for London and Thorpe Park. The staff were friendly and helpful. Toilets and shower block were extremely clean which is always important to me and my husband as it make or break your holiday. Our pitch wasnt huge but big enough for our 4 person tent and windbreak. The ground was bare soil and gravel rather than grass as the pitch had been used a lot but that wasn't the sites fault.
The noise from the motorway was noticeable and also the aircraft noise but after a while you got used to both.
The site felt very secure with access in via a coded barrier.
There is a excellent pub.

Excellent site, flat with easily accessible pitches and play area for children. Easy access from M25 and for days out to Windsor, Thorpe Park, Whipsnade, etc. Good sized shower block but frustrating shower facilities with push button showers with little water pressure. Only downside of site was the aircraft noise until around midnight each day - although I appreciate that this is out of the site's control.

We stayed on this site for 8 nights as members of the camping and caravanning club. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the showers and toilets were very clean. We were pitched right behind the toilet block and felt hemmed in even though the club has strict rules. We had to drive over another person's pitch to get off ours and the toilet block was unfortunately used as the children's gathering point in the evenings, so was very noisy. This site would be OK as a short stay while visiting London etc but not for a main holiday - we were disappointed to say the least! If you do go here, perhaps just stipulate that you have a pitch by the river rather than behind the toilet block!

Stayed for two nights, wardens are very helpful, even pushing caravan into final position. Toilets are very clean and showers are hot. Had fun watching loads of wabbitts on the grass. A good idea to stock up on bread milk etc etc as garage opposite has extortionate prices ( be warned ). There is a Sainsbury's in chertsey not too far. Local Chinese take away delivers to reception area for your collection. What more could you ask for. We will definitely be back.

Stayed here for four days, very nice staff. Was put in a very nice spot by the river, but its best to ask for it when making a booking. Toilets very clean, are closed from 11-1 for cleaning but most folk are on thier sight seeing tours at this time anyway. Site shop not well stocked but you have a jet garage across the road which sells most things(beer to news papers). There are two very nice pubs nearby which do lovely Sunday roasts quite cheap to. Nice play area for the kids, if you are into fishing you can fish the water, but on the down side to that there is only one good spot to use, the rest is quite overgrown, plus you get charge £1.50 to fish there even on that stretch of the water it is free fishing. overall very nice site.

This is our second visit here and I have posted a previous review of this site. I just wanted to add that there is an excellent shopping centre in Addlestone which is only a few minutes drive from site, worth noting there is a Tesco store here open 24 hrs with everything you want in one place. We came here in the half term when it was very full but never had the feeling of being overcrowded because the firebreak rule of 6m between units is very well applied here! Incidentally, in my previous post I mentioned about the lite bite menu but apparently this only applies to summer months at The Boathouse, so be wary could be expensive outside of the summer season. Having said that, there are numerous takeaways very local if you don't fancy cooking. Location wise this is my favourite site so far.

A flat site situated on the banks of the Thames. Quite expensive if you are not a member of The Camping & Caravan Club. The toilet /shower block was clean (we were there on the bank holiday weekend, so the site was almost full) but as is common, there were too few showers, six in the men's, for the number of pitches, 200. A small, children's play area with a few swings and a climbing frame is near the toilet block. There are a number of pubs and eateries within short walking distance, and we walked into the centre of Chertsey in about 15min. When on the site ,it seems very rural, and there are some nice country walks along the Thames through some unspoiled meadows. A great site from which to explore London. We drove the short distance to Richmond, and caught the tube into central London. Nearby is Hampton Court Palace, a great day out, Kew gardens, and for the kids, Thorpe Park. We had a brilliant time. But a final warning, the low lying land on which the site is placed is liable to flooding.

Positives: Lovely area by the river with a couple of pubs around and garage down the road. The site was well maintained and pitches were of a good size. Toilet facilities were clean. Negatives: Took ages to book in. The ground was very uneven around where we parked, I actually had to fill one hole with wood and plastic sheeting to avoid falling into it! It was quite pricey. The electric sockets were full of disgusting insects!
