Great site, positives all the way!
Easy to find and access. Friendly and helpful staff who go the extra mile. Very good and clean facilities. Rural feel despite location. Lovely pitch close to the Thames. Ample space for pitches, not overcrowded. Garage opposite good for basics. Lovely cycle path along river to Staines and beyond. You will hear the many planes overhead but they are not intrusive. Would recommend it to anyone and definitely stay again.
(Chertsey itself is not great and the same with The Bridge which is minutes away; the slightly further Kingfisher was often recommended).

Visited here many times as not too far from home and we love the area. I have reviewed the site before. However I have to add this one in order to congratulate them. 2 weeks ago the site was still under the 'River Thames' as you may have seen on the news. After a flood and clean up in January they were to re-open on a Saturday, the day arrived but the river had again burst it's banks, this time much worse.
It re-opened on the 7th March, and it was amazing to us to see little evidence of the flood. Only hardstandings were open (for obvious reasons), and the main facilities block hadn't yet had the boiler repaired so was not usable. The smaller block was more than adequate however.
To close a well done to all the Wardens and assistants on a magnificent effort. We will be back.

We have just spent our first Christmas in our motorhome at the Chertsey site. Same friendly welcome as previously. Site was busy, but not as packed as the summer. Although the weather wasn't brilliant we had a great time. We were on flood alert due to the wet and windy weather and our close proximity to the Thames, but fortunately it didn't effect us. On Christmas Eve there was mulled wine and mince pies in reception where we met up with some of the other campers. There was also lots of wildlife around on the camp. We saw woodpeckers and parakeets and lots of bunnies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will be back soon and hopefully will return next Christmas.

Nice flat site close to the Thames and the Thames Path with clean and plentiful showers, toilets etc. However, as a solo backpacker, I was placed in a very small spot which was right beside a path/gate and which was totally shaded (not good when you want to pack up early in September).
The site has no shop (although there is a garage which sells basics over the road) and, more importantly for me, has no facilities for charging; not good when you are backpacking.

We have just spent a lovely bank holiday weekend on this campsite. Very easy to find. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. We were shown to our pitch and all facilities explained on arrival. The site was very busy, but the showers and toilets were kept very clean considering the amount of people on site. We were given very clear instructions on how to get onto the cycle path to make our way to Hampton Court Palace. A really pleasant cycle ride along the Thames tow path. There was a take away van opposite the reception if you wanted burgers, chips etc. The reception staff gave us details of which bus/stop to use, so that we could spend an afternoon in Weybridge on Saturday as it was raining, so browsed around the shops. There is also a couple of nice pubs within walking distance, if you want to venture out for food. We enjoyed a meal at the Kingfisher, just over the bridge. The garage across the road was great for the daily newspapers and to replenish supplies in the store cupboard. All in all a smashing site which we will visit again and would definitely recommend

We stayed here Monday through to Sunday as a base to visit Thorpe Park and the Harry Potter Studio, both in close proximity. We were guided to our pitch by a chap on his bike and made welcome. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our pitch was massive, but very shady all day. The whole site is ecologically friendly with masses of rabbits, squirrels pigeons and ring neck parakeets. Close to the river Thames, 2 nice pubs and filling station with shop. The toilets were well maintained and cosy. The whole site clean, tidy and well laid out. Coming from near Exeter although used to airplanes we did find the close proximity to Heathrow a bit noisy. On Friday and Saturday evenings there is a superb fish & Chip van (lovely-jubly) on site, they also do excellent breakfasts. We would recommend this site to anyone from families with children to more senior campers.

We were very impressed with this site. I arrived on my own with 2 small boys and the staff were very helpful getting us sorted and helping me set up on the pitch. Children loved the play area and we felt they were very safe. There is a little bit of plane noise but our boys loved the planes going over. Good chippy in Chertsey and the train from Weybridge was very easy. Brooklands Museum fab! We would definitely stay again.

2nd visit to Chertsey. Our previous visit was two years ago.
We opted for a fully serviced touring pitch (as last time)and had a choice of several on arrival. We chose one closest to the facilities block. The pitch was level with a combination of hard standing for the caravan and awning, and grass parking area for the car. All the pitches looked spacious and well laid out, with the site broken up by mature trees, hedges and fencing.
The facilities were well kept and all the wardens we spoke to were very friendly and helpful.
The shop was quite limited but there is a small Spar in the petrol station opposite the site entrance and a Sainsbury's in Chertsey.
The site was busy during the week we stayed but it never felt crowded. Quite a lot of overseas visitors which was good to see.
The only down site to the site is that it is directly below the Heathrow flight path (Heathrow is very close, +/- 10 miles ), so there is a lot of aircraft approach and take off noise which is very noticeable at night. If you are a light sleeper. Pack your earplugs.
We didn't go into the centre of London this time, although I recall it is around 30 mins by train from nearby Weybridge.
We had a couple of days enjoying cycle rides along the Thames. One time heading the short distance upstream to Staines. The other downstream to Sunbury. Very relaxing to sit at the locks watching the boats go by. The site is right next to the Thames with easy access to the cycle paths over the Chertsey bridge which is close by.
We also had a day at Kew Gardens which was only 30 mins away by car. Very interesting.
Worst mistake was to spend a day in the theme parks at Thorpe Park and a day at Chessington. Absolute nightmare. Overcrowded, ridiculous queue times and several rides out of action at both parks. Never again. Off topic in relation to a review of the site, but my advice would be to avoid both parks in the peak holiday season unless you like queuing for over an hour plus for 30 seconds of excitement :)
We walked out of Thorpe Park at 2pm in disgust and then had to pay £5 for the privilege of parking there. To add insult to injury the parking barriers were open on exit so we needn't have parted with the fiver.
But back to the site. A great base for exploring the greater London area or heading into the city if that's what you fancy. Well kept and a friendly team running it. I've marked down the location purely because of the aircraft noise.

Stayed here for 3 days go to watch the tennis at Wimbledon. Stayed here before, and it is just as nice but this time the sun shone so much better. The guys showers are under refurbishment so quite a walk to the main entrance. And although, there was only 3 showers and the camp was busy, I never had to queue. I think I booked a grass pitch, but on arrival was allocated a hardstanding. So don't forget your rock pegs as the shop ran out. There are only a couple of grass pitches, so beware.
But a great stay / base and will return again & again.

We used this site as a base for visiting Mercedes Benz World, which is about 10 minutes away by car. We booked for two nights over the first May Bank Holiday weekend.
As you would expect from a C&CC site, it was beautifully kept, and a tranquil haven in the middle of a busy urban area. On arrival, the lady behind the desk was efficient, but not very friendly! However, all other staff we encountered over the weekend were great! The site is very child friendly with a play area in the middle, and a small pontoon for canoes.
Chertsey C&CC site is a great base for exploring this beautiful area. Just out of the campsite and you are on the edge of the River Thames, with beautiful walking and cycling routes along the tow path.
We will definitely use this site again, as we would like to visit Brooklands Museum, but just did not have time after spending the day at Mercedes Benz World – every small boys dream!
