Just returned from 5 nights at this site. Good spacious pitches, we were EHU and had a reserved pitch. The site is basically 3 fields with a small but functional play area that all the kids communed in and made friends. The shower and toilet facilities were exceptional, the loos were cleaned several times a day and the soap dispensers and loo rolls never ran out, plenty of hot water and only once did I have a few minutes wait for a shower. The on site staff were friendly and its a very relaxed site. On the down side, the 5mph speed is not enforced and people drive around much faster which is a concern if you have young children, if you are in the tent only field as we were, the children have to cross the path of the cars coming in and out so you need to be vigilant if you have younger children. We also found the changing of the bins at about 7am every other day an unpleasant wake up call. All in all a good site, a good base to explore the New Forest and an hour from the gorgeous beach at Bournemouth which we cant recommend highly enough. We did visit Chequers but didn't rate the food at all but the beer was good.

Came with one other family only this time however still 8 kids with us from 1 - 8 years old.
Stayed in the field behind the toilets for a change which was excellent as it is tents only and worked really well for us. After the weekend we had lots of space for the kids to ride their bikes and play by the tents.
It was mega busy over the long weekend which caused a few issues with the toilets having to queue however not too long for the showers. Real concern was that they were nowhere near as clean as before and we found we were having to use toilet roll to clean the shower trays beforehand as people left so much hair in them. Could have done with a bucket and mop at hand for you to use as and when required.
Would also like to see a step so that the younger children can reach the bowls to was their hands and clean their teeth.
The playground could do with some repair work there are no swings plus bits missing of the fence which only encouraged some kids to run through. Also the woodchip ground needs to be looked at.
This aside we still had a wonderful trip and once again did lots of cycling, walking, crabing, Hurst Castle and visits into the new forest. We always manage to find new rides to take and things to do each time we come down. The kids said they felt like they were the famous five.
We had plenty of fires however we do bring our own wood with us as this works out cheaper.

Stayed here on 9th July 2013, for one night.
Very disappointed, paid £20 for the night, no EHU, though have stayed a much better sites for less money.
The site is really just a field, shower and toilets are modern and clean, but can be a trek if you pitch on the extremities of the perimeter.
Campervans on hard standings were parked opposite the facilities and appeared rather crammed together.
Late afternoon arrival, and there were bags of discarded rubbish all around and cigarette butts everywhere on the grass.
Lovely to have an open fire, but sad to see not managed well so there are burnt delves all around the field, effecting where you can pitch.
Staff at reception welcoming and friendly. Quite a drive down from main road, not narrow but not ideal for a large van. In field there was not much of a view, maybe better in a van.
Doubt I will return at the current price.

What a great campsite, we were blessed with 10days of very hot sunny weather. The pitch was a good size, toilets and showers always had hot water and were cleaned several times a day, never had to queue during the week but weekends were a lot busier so get up early or shower later when people have gone out.
All the staff were brilliant and very friendly I kept running out of ice packs due to the heat so they lent me loads whilst mine were re-freezing. There was a chest freezer on site or you can use the one in reception, there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer (although dryer out of use during our stay)
Little hut for cooked food Friday evening through to Sunday, can't remember the hours, but food was good.
The shop is a bit hit and miss, quite expensive and not very well stocked, opening hours were a bit strange too, one minute it was opening at 5pm then when you went it had opened earlier and was now shut, they did sell ice though at £2. 00 a bag.
Camp fires allowed and a bag of wood was £5. 00.
Loads of walks from the campsite which were all pretty and easy to do.
The only minor problem was dogs not being on leads, quite a few people thought it was ok to walk around with their dogs running off in front or behind them, playing fetch etc despite signs saying that dogs should be kept on leads. Caused a few tethered dogs some frustration as they passed by.
Will definitely return here.

4th stay here, last stay here.
Toilet block, didn't come across any queues despite the site being almost full and as always they were always clean and tidy.
Almost didn't get the pitch/field we had asked for in our email, but this was sorted very quickly. I would advise being in the overflow field and in the side of the hedge where the shop is as the site is quite windy and it did make a massive difference which is why I wanted to be moved when directed to a pitch that was in the path of extreme wind.
I would advise pitching your tent well away from the portable toilets if you are in the overflow field because we had fellow (mostly drunk) campers using the toilets (noisily) until 2am on Saturday night, woke myself and 8 year up numerous times, at 2am I finally gave in and put my earphones in with music (last resort as hurts my ears) !
Saturday morning was woken up by a dog which proceeded to bark pretty much the rest of the day, they left the dog by the tent and wondered off and then during the day the dog was locked in a van (no wonder it was barking, when it couldn't see anyone) ! I am a dog owner myself and I fail to see why you would take a pet on holiday with you then proceed to ignore it and put it 'out of view' to annoy everyone else. I did hear numerous other campers saying they had gone over to their tent and hinted about the noise etc but it would appear to avail.
As with my last review of this site, I'm not entirely sure their noise policy is enforced properly, consistently or in the best interest of family's camping, I saw security come into our field twice in Saturday night and one of those times was because someone's camping was on the large side and so they were I assume asked to reduce it in size. Both times I saw them were before 9. 30 and again all the noise on the site began after 10pm as drinkers get louder.
I will not book on this site again, whilst they are relaxed and that can be a good thing I think they are too relaxed and a rules are kind of out the window.

We stayed on the site in July 2013.
Great facilities, toilets & showers always kept clean, lots of fresh hot water, even on a very busy weekend. They recharge mobiles & freeze cool blocks, an extra hut sells hot breakfasts & cooked evening meals at weekends if you want.
Very near the coast and nice walks, near to Lymington and all its shops & takeaways etc.
Owners & staff are friendly and there is a play area for kids
Not much shelter from the sun (on those rare days when England is that hot), also there can be strong breeze off the sea, so you need to pitch near the hedges to shelter from it.
There is some kind of a refuse dump over the hedges in one corner, the only effect this had on us was the distant noise of machines loading etc, but obviously only during working hours.
Overall a great site.

We visited for 4 nights in June 2013, when the site was pretty quiet.
Liking our own company, we set up on the far side of the most distant field, somewhat sheltered from the prevailing winds by the hedge around the field. There were a couple of other tents on the far side of the field, so we had plenty of space to ourselves.
There was a little noise from machinery operating in the quarry beyond the hedge, but it wasn't particularly disturbing and fell quiet at about 4pm.
Unlike some of the more recent reviews we found the showering/washing facilities to be pretty good, but the site was very quiet and I have a feeling they were relatively new (this was in 2013).
Just at the back of the field you can access a footpath through the Lymington - Keyhaven Marshes nature reserve which is a pleasant 1mile walk into Keyhaven for the picturesque Gun Inn pub. We also caught a passenger ferry from Keyhaven to visit Hurst castle for an interesting afternoon's excursion.

The only thing that let this site down was their noise policy, I'm not sure they have one ! 2am myself, partner and 3 children were kept awake until on Saturday night (when I complained they told me they had wardens going round until very early hours) well I'm not sure they visited my field that night ! I used to feel it was a bit uncalled for when sites do not accept all adult group bookings but this was the 3rd visit we have had to this site and on all the visits we've had a rowdy drunk group of adults causing hassle and noise on at least one of the nights we've been there, it is not acceptable and I really feel that campers should be able to contact someone' when this does happen as its a recipe for disaster (drunk people being asked to be quiet does not always go down to nicely) and they do advertise to be a family friendly site which to me means they should enforce and encourage the no noise policy after 11pm at the latest.
There really isn't anything else that I do not like about the site, it's always clean and tidy, staff are friendly and the location is brilliant for walkers or like myself dog owners who love walking and exploring the countryside.
The shop is overpriced but you expect that anywhere you go I would say it stocks 'emergency things you may have forgot or run out of and lots of goodies/sweets for children.
The park is good for children and we have had no issues with noise from the park ( that's a noise we like to hear, kids enjoying themselves).
It is pitch where you want but if you've got electric hook up booked you may be in a reserved space, though we did ask roughly when booking where we wanted to be.
The toilets and showers are always clean although they do get busy at times when site is fully booked, only 8 showers each male/female.
Little food hut, massively overpriced, I went to get. 3 kids chips/burger, 1 curry sauce and chips and one hog roast roll which would have been over £20 quid needless to say we didn't bother and I drove to the chip shop only minutes down the road, £12. 10p for 4 chips, steak pie, 3 sausages and a fish cake, huge portions and very good food.
I would suggest to anyone travelling down to this site to go the beaulieu route to avoid brockenhurst and lyndhurst, even with netley marsh show and the new forest show on we didn't get stuck in any traffic taking this route.
There isn't a 'beach' nearby but there is a dog friendly one at highcliff which was very clean and parking not too bad either, my children all went swimming in the sea and we had two lovely days there.
Brockenhurst river at balmer lawn hotel is another lovely place for the kids, be sure there is a river there though, compared to last year it was almost all gone but the kids still enjoyed it.
Try and purchase your own wood for campfires before you go as their bags of kindle and wood together come to 9 quid and you can easily use this all in a night or two depending on how long you want it going for (we kept ours going until about 11pm).
Two supermarkets nearby, waitrose just up the road and on the high street is a good sized tesco (parking is round the back of the store and you have to pay every day up until 6pm).
We have not sampled any pubs but heard people saying chequers is lovely, there appears to be lots of lovely places around and about to eat or drink and beaulie looks lovely too though we didn't have time to stop, just drove through.
Overall we do like this site and we are booked again for end of the month, we are only 38 miles from site which is handy for travel time, however the noisy nights are making me think twice about booking again next year, if I can find a similar priced site nearby or towards Bournemouth then this may well be our next option.

What an unexpected pleasure:
Excellent for cycling, walking - including conveniently placed PH's. We live in an area with plenty of Public Houses which does keep prices reasonable, however not much competition down there so expect to pay the price.
Didn't use any shop facilities on site, so can't comment and the bacon buttie van only opens at weekends (whilst we were there) so didn't get to try them either.
Had a great cycle to Bucklers Hard, around 22miles return, on back lanes. Keyhaven easy ride and so too the Solent Path, lovely marinas around, quay/harbour in Lymington.
We're not twitchers but loved the array of wild birds in and around the area.
Stayed from Monday to Friday in campervan using hook up. Not school hols so the playground remained unused but looked well equipped. Plenty of recycle and general rubbish bins in the designated area.
Toilets and showers were great.
Staff helpful.
Thankfully the weather was excellent which obviously helps!
Can't wait for a return visit.

Once again we have had a truly amazing stay here. This time we brought another family with us who loved it as much as us and can't wait to come back.
Wonderful cycling to be done, went past Keyhaven, Milford on Sea and further this time all 14 of us (9 Kids). Went to the Deer Viewing Area as well in the New Forest which everyone loved. On the rainy day went to the local swimming pool, excellent fun was had by all.
Only wished we could stay longer than the 7 nights we did stay.
As always the facilities where wonderfully clean, in fact pretty much every time we went someone was cleaning them.
