The site is very average, good toilets and showers, nothing special about this site, very well placed though, 40 mins walk will take you into lymington and the other way to keyhaven and milford on sea. The nearest pub is the chequers inn which is about 15 mins walk (ask at reception and they will give you a little map showing the route to the pub). Also try the gun inn at keyhaven and milford on sea has 2 or 3 decent pubs. A good site for walkers with a conservation area at the bottom of the camp site and loads of great walks. All in all ok for a few nights.

We stayed for a long weekend. The weather was great. Booking in was very easy, and you do feel welcomed. Our pitch was level and electric hook up was no problem. Our view was brilliant, we were just opposite the ponies. We went for a couple of great walks around the site area. The wildlife is all there to see. This site is nicely tucked away from the main drag, and is easy to find, (although the narrow lane can catch you out) The toilet blocks were fine whenever we used them, and hot water was always on. This is a site that is miles away from the hussle bussle of some sites, it has a charm all of its own. If you want to relax, this is the place to go. Lymington is within easy reach, and is picture postcard. The pubs are great, and food is easy to find. The owners have spent money on this site and it shows. We have booked again for this year and cannot wait for August. Great for the children too. Loads of fresh Solent air. A must if you want a relaxing time away. Put it on your touring route.

Stayed at site for the 1st time over the first May bank holiday - absolutely lovely! We arrived late in the evening but were greeted by friendly man (Phil) who thankfully helped us to setup the caravan in the dark & then opened the caravan door as we had forgotten the keys! Site laid mainly to grass with few hookups so few caravans! Pitches (with hookup) away from the road/track through site, which was great as the pitch seemed huge as extra grass out front between us and cars! Facilities were minimal but functional. There did seem to be a queue for the men's showers at some point over the weekend but all OK for the girls! Have read stuff about the landfill in other reviews but couldn't hear it, couldn't smell it and could just about see a vehicle in the distance but you had to know it was there to find it! So no complaints on that! From the back of the site there are one or two walks to the Lymington sea/harbour/marina front plus the Isle of Wight is right there! Seen daily boat trips to IoW at reasonable prices although we didn't go this time! Very close to the New Forest and its attractions, also for Christchurch & Bournemouth let alone Southampton! So basically no complaints about this site at all! Have already booked to go at the end of May for the bank holiday!

We booked 14 days here after finding everywere else was full, before reading the reviews. I asked about the tip over the phone and was told it was as good as finished, only ash was very rarely put on it. Saturday we pitched the tent all was fine. Monday morning tractors, earth removers and endless bin lorries 7.30 in the morning. The smell was very bad, also large pumps chugged though the night several times on the quarry next to it. 11 days later we could stand no more.
Shame really the site it self was good and you could see a lot of money was being spent there.

Just got back from 3 days camping. Being 1st time campers my friend and I didn't really know what to expect. We found the site very friendly with an excellent field to camp in. Being bank holiday it was very busy as expected but it didn't feel too overcrowded. The only down side were the facilities. The indoor showers were great, lovely and hot but unfortunately only usable without queueing for ages at 10pm! The portacabin showers were a little temperamental!?! They would be freezing one minute and boiling the next. We put this blip down to the joy of camping and the large number of people using them!
Toilets were regularly cleaned and loo roll replaced, considering how many people were using them there was no smell at all.Good facilities to charge phones, freeze ice blocks and washing drying machines. The shop on site is small but handy for that pint of milk in the morning. Really enjoyed the cooked breakfast on the weekend.
It was a handy site for getting about, close to the Isle of Wight ferry and the New forest. Lots of pubs in the area although a designated driver is needed unless you feel brave enough to walk down the long dark road from the campsite.
For our 1st time it was a great few days and would recommend it for those wanting to visit the area.

I didn't read any reviews before booking so it was a surprise to read afterwards that there was mention of a landfill site we knew nothing about this at all during our stay. Plenty of room for pitching and the on-site facilities were more than adequate, there is a freezer for ice packs provided and sockets for charging mobiles, using hair dryers etc. Very nice pub at the end of the lane however be prepared for quite a walk (dont forget your torch and there is no lighting in the lane). Very happy with the site and will be returning there if we camp in that region again.

We really loved staying here. On the bank holiday weekend the facilities were a bit overcrowded, but at other times they were fine. Facilities very clean and nice. Owners were very relaxed. Restored our faith in camping after a few difficult stays on regimented sites. Landfill site next door was no problem at all. Great location for cycle rides and walks. Good Indian takeaway and other facilities in Lymington, which is in easy cycling distance. All-in-all a great place to stay, and we will return ... soon.

Excellent facilities and very clean. Hot water failed in the shower block twice but the owners called out someone to fix it immediately. We stayed for 8 days camping and were not disturbed by the low level of noise coming from the landfill. The tent field was immaculate and the owners do seem to be investing in the site. There were no mozzies nor any unpleasant smells on the site, in fact it was great to breathe in the lovely sea air coming in over the salt marshes. We will definitely return to this site next summer and would recommend it to all our friends.

Was a bit worried after reading previous reviews, but pleased to say that we did not suffer any of the same problems - only bad weather, but I don't think we can blame the site for that!
It is close to tha landfill site, but noise wasn't a problem. Toilet / Shower block has been extended so there are now additonal (not dual purpose) toliet / shower facilities.
All in all, an enjoyable stay, in a location that's well off the main track but within easy walk of pubs and the coast.

July 2004 Friendly helpful owners but camping field overgrown, smelly stagnant stream nearby, therefore lots of mozzies. Also the sound of the lorries reversing into the land fill site at 7.oo am on Sat morning not relaxing. Toilets warm and clean but placed inside the shower cubicle making the early morning difficult if you wanted to use the toilet and not the shower or vise versa. Clean laundry area and fridge and freezer avaialable for campers.
