Visited as a group, and found the site to have a real relaxed atmosphere.
Staff very helpful.
Facilities were portacabin style loos on our field, and an extra little walk to the shower units on adjacent field, weren't spotless but adequate.
Did make me chuckle seeing people driving across the field to use the loos!
Would possibly return but, aware of the noise levels during the night - a rowdy party led to some heated arguments during the night, which spoiled things a little.

This is the first time we have visited this site. We had a very friendly welcome, we did pre-book but it wasn't necessary as there was plenty of room with 3 fields and choice of where to pitch. All 3 fields are flat, one has good children's play equipment in the middle with the amenities to one side and seemed the most used, the other two the grass was longer (no water or electric hook-ups that we noticed). We stayed from Thursday to Monday, it was mostly very quiet with no traffic noise - although Friday morning diggers in the next field started at 7.30am! Saturday night it became very busy with campers, with majority leaving again on the Sunday (possibly some event on nearby?).
The location of the campsite for cycling/walking is fantastic, we did a couple of great rides directly from the site along to Hurst Castle and Lymington, and it is also very near for other forest Cycling. The lovely sandy beach of Highcliffe is about 15 minutes drive.
The downside for us were the amenities. There are several showers and toilets (all in the one central field) however these are very neglected (mould, cracked shower trays) and although they seemed to have a token surface clean they were generally very dirty. For the men there were insufficient toilets and the urinal was overflowing for the whole time we were there and no soap. When busy the showers lost pressure and went cold.
There are 2 outside washing up sinks, plus one inside the ladies toilet block, again dirty.
There is a very small shop on site for milk but for replacement gas we had to drive to Lymington.
Ice blocks can be frozen for 20p each.
It was a real disappointment about the amenities as that will stop us from returning.

We visited here in the wettest may. It even flooded the new forest. The staff here are wonderful, our tent got flooded out through the down poor and they helped us dry everything out and helped us securing the tent so we didnt get soaked again.
The site has three fields, one has the play area and shower and toilet / shower block on it the other two are just wide open spaces. If you want just basics then you will love this site. This is a site were the children and the adults can be the same if they want. When we were there eveyone who had a dog were great and cleaned up behind themselves. Would we go again? yes and we plan to in august. Why, because you have to entertain yourself and the staff were brillaint.
It was my idea of what camping should be.

We arrived on the Saturday, but had a problem with our truck. Switched engine off and had 2 jump starts so could park caravan. Wing and staff were very helpful, and we couldn't drive off the site so had to return home with AA on Tuesday. But a good site to visit although showers were not very good and make sure you take bread butter and eggs and bacon as shop doesn't sell them. Oh and wine!

Spent 3 nights at this site. Brill. If you are a doggy owner, Good site for you .VERY relaxed about dogs they like well behaved dogs. The site is well set back from the sea ,about a 15min walk. Out the site turn right following the narrow lane to the car park ,there is a footpath to the left you can let your dog of here. Try to catch the tide if you can .If out can be very muddy. You can walk to the beach from the car park is took over an hour. Manky water on the way not good dogs very hot will drive to keyhaven next time. You can take the dog on the ferry to Hurst Castle and in side. Well worth a vist. Chesil Beach is your best bet take your car. This site cost 20 pounds per night all in with hook-up and you were aloud a gazebo, camp fire and barbecue. If you don't have a hook-up I still think its same price . When we arrived the guy in the office. Very friendly. Said pitch up pay me later . We had booked a hook-up and were disappointed when we saw someone else where we were going to go. But not a problem, up comes the guy with a extension lead and we tuck ourselves nicely in the corner. There is a kiddies play park in the centre of the field. Not much climbing frame , swings , things - great for the little one. The site shop does not sell much ,Milk ice-creme windbreaks not sure what else. The toilets and showers were a bit dated nice and hot though. Toilets and sinks were cleaned but it looked like no-one had done the floor which was very bitty on your feet. We wore our flipflops in the showers and I was not keen on the black mould in the shower but that was my only problem with this site. Would I return. YES If they dropped the price . PS to dog owners lots of cows ether side of camping field . Shop, take-away , chip shop, not far ,but you do need a car .Out of site turn left at round-about follow the road shop on right .

As first time campers we wanted a nice simple site to start with. We could not have asked for anything better (apart from the wind which made the first night really scary). Thankfully along with the kitchen sink, I also took some stainless steel delta pegs which did not flinch.
The site is very open and has plenty of room. We were made really welcome by Wing who pointed in a general direction and said ‘put your tent wherever you want’.
The toilets and shower whilst being a little ‘tired’ were kept reasonably clean and although the site was busy on Saturday night/Sunday morning there was very little queuing for the showers which were free and the water really hot.
The site is close to Lymington which has a nice market on a Saturday and is close to the New Forest. As other people have mentioned it is close to the beach and has several pubs within walking distance, a Waitrose about 5 mins drive and a Tesco about 10 mins drive.
Although there is no pool on site there is a lovely leisure centre 10 mins walk away with a great pool.
All in all we had a great time and will be coming again in a few weeks. One final thing to mention, when you go to the New Forest to camp you always expect to see Ponies, at this site they have a herd of Water Buffalo in the next field, now they are scary first thing in the morning!

Stayed over one of the coldest Easters on record! Manager very welcoming & laid back, site very open and muddy (probably a good thing that w/e as no falling branches etc), although weather very poor, so didn't see it at it's best. Showers ok although look a bit temporary, very impressed by the heating in them, spent a lot of time there trying to warm up! Very little available in the shop, need to ensure that you take supplies with you. Lymington High Street fairly near, very interesting, good & varied market on Saturdays, lots of local produce etc, but probably extremely busy in Summer. Marina also nearby, although didn't get to walk due to weather. Isle of Wight ferry leaves regularly, good for foot passenger trip during summer, can get buses into Ryde etc from ferry port. Very easy to get into New Forest. All in all average rating for site but good area to stay, lots to do and see.

Just come back from a great weekend at hurst view - our first time camping as a family. Our party of 10 tents were able to all pitch in one big circle and there was loads of space for football games, cricket and swingball. A lovely cycle ride (definitely bring your bikes) to the beach - about 5 mins cycle away with crabbing and some sand. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. Will definitely come back again! keep up the good work.

Just got back from a lovely weekend. This site is ideally situated if you like walking. At the bottom of the site you can pick up the coastal path to either Lymington or Keyhaven (it took us about 20mins to walk to Keyhaven) and Milford on Sea. Or you can catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight. If you have dogs like we do, it is ideal, and most of the pubs are dog/child friendly. We had a great meal in the Chequers which is a short walk across the field. The site itself is flat and has a wonderful view, the toilets were clean, showers were hot although I think there could be a queue in the summer months. The shop did not sell much that I could see other than drinks and sweets but there is a McCoys store at the top of the lane. We would definitely be visiting again.

This was our first time trying out our newly bought trailer tent.
I had already had a lovely chat with Wing when booking the site. Then when we arrived everyone at reception was so friendly and smiling. It was such a relaxed atmosphere and made us feel really welcome.
We had booked late for the bank holiday and were grateful they had space for us. We couldn't get electric hookup although the site does provide this facility.
We were in an adjacent field with portacabin toilets which were always very clean and well supplied. There was plenty of space for the children to run around and plenty of space between pitches.
The site also has a huge wooden climbing frame to keep the children occupied while you are busy putting the tent up.
They even had someone cooking breakfast on site, although we never had the pleasure of trying it.
We loved this site so much that we have just booked a weeks holiday in June and hope to explore some of the surrounding area. I hear they even have a link nearby to Isle of Wight!
