We stayed in a tent with our two dogs.
Size - the site had four large fields. Too many for our liking. There was a family field which was very noisy during the day but did quieten about 10:30pm. If in tent the prevailing wind is from R to L with main reception at your back -it was windy most days so do look for the shelter.
Sea - this is not a beach, there is a sea wall that dogs can jump into sea from -not for human swimming and it is a good 10 mins to the sea from the site walking through a field with cows.
Facilities - Two toilet blocks right next to washing up sinks (this led to some 'interesting' sound effects whilst washing up). Only 8 female toilets and showers which led to queues at busy times. Showers were warm but you could not alter the temperature and the shower head was in ceiling so no choice but to wash hair. There were no enclosed sinks for a wash. The wash area was cleaned regularly but the amount of people, particularly at the weekend, stretched this resource.
Shop - quite well stocked, yes a little pricy but what you would expect. Lymmington is really close and has some good shops.
Landfill site - this is no longer a land fill and is being changed to a brid sanctuary. Unfortunately the trucks start about 7:30 am and don't stop until 5pm. Check with site as this would have ruined our holiday if we didn't plan to go out every day.
Nearby attractions - this site is in a great location for visiting Hurst Castle (get the audio tour as well) and the new forest, Beaulieu etc we went out most days and it was great.
Campfires - these are allowed but do watch out for the numpties who put them right next to their tents or surrounded by the wind breaks!
We had a relaxed time but would not visit this site again. The wind, the noise (from both the trucks and play area) and the lack of sufficient wash facilities were a turn off for us. However, sitting by a camp fire with no tents close by was great.

Stayed here earlier in the month and said we probably wouldn't go back. Well we did go back, we found a much better route with a lot less traffic!
My review is only a few down below this one so I wont add too much.
The site was very quite when we arrived we pitched in the field behind the toilets/showers so not too close to play area, over the weekend the site filled to what I can assume was full capacity but everything still seemed to run smoothly and the site was quiet by 11pm on all the nights we stayed (tues-sat). The only gripe I have this time is the fact dogs are meant to be kept on leads but quite a few people took no notice of this rule at all and I was pretty sick of other peoples dogs coming near my tent (even eating my dogs food at one point)and also owners who let their dogs out the tent in the morning but do not watch out for their dog fouling the site, this was quite an issue which I find rather disgusting considering the amount of families with youngsters running freely aorund the fields.

Reception staff - very friendly and appeared quite laid back.
Showers - Would have preferred to have been able to shower my daughter by detaching shower head but they are in the ceiling, which meant I had to actually shower with her, not enough room for adult and 7 year old, family shower room I heard wasn't that great but didn't even go in as another person said the showers were cold in there.
Showers trays not deep enough and so all our clothes got soaked when the shower tray overflowed onto the floor, and could have possibly soaked everyone elses stuff as the water was running down the floor. Showers were nice and hot and very clean including toilets.
Small playground, not much to look at but my two kids enjoyed it and spent time flying kites, playing with bat and balls etc
Shop was quite small and hugely overpriced, but you would expect to ripped off by a site shop. Waitrose and tesco are close by.
Loved the fact you can pitch where you want and because this was our first camping trip we asked where to go, pitched near the hedge but wind was just a slight breeze anyway, sun shone the whole time so we were lucky.
I wouldn't say this site was close to a beach, the beaches are pebble, hard to access and unsuitable for any long amounts of walking as they are big stones. Drove into lymington which was a few minutes drive, beautiful little town, very pretty.
Partner and I agreed we probably wouldn't use this site again as the traffic from lyndhurst to the site is terrible we live 38 miles away and had to do to two trips ( our first time camping so hadnt invested in a trailer and didn't want to travel to far)), we got there pretty quick about 50 minutes from north hampshire) but the 38 miles turned into a two hour drive on all of the other trips I had to do, nightmare!
We travelled at 7. 45am on a saturday morning which was ok and came back on a monday, first trip was 10am, just to give you an idea of 'it doesn't matter what time you chose' its a nightmare of a road, really lets the site down and I would suggest to anyone visiting to find an alternate route avoiding lyndhurst and brockenhurst before setting off.
At £25 a night we didn't think it was too bad, friends have said this is expensive, I only paid for one of our two nights purely on the fact myself and family were awake most of the sunday night well into the early hours because of two sets of campers playing loud music and generally being a pain.
I don't mind a bit of noise and to be honest I expected it, but not to the extent that my partner had to go and tell them to shut up on the 6th time we heard the 'happy birthday to ya' song being sung/played, needless to say the group of 6 young/older teens were asked to leave the site that day.
The other group also left that day, wether or not asked to I don't know as we had packed up and gone before we found out. Apparently this site normally has wardens on friday and saturday nights. Maybe hence the sunday night parties that they probably waited to have ?
The first night we were there was lovely and peaceful by about 10pm.
Very dog friendly we took our lurcher pup and greyhound and they both enjoyed lazing about in the sun, plenty of places to walk them.
Loved the fact we could have a fire near our tent because we stayed around it until 11pm just quietly resting and enjoying the peace (the noise started past midnight), the fields do have marks where the fires have been and the fields are not in perfect condition, but your camping so not sure what else people would expect ? I thought it was great fun and so did the kids with their marsh mellows.
I did see a comment saying about the park being noisy and yes it is during the day so I would pitch away from it if you don't like the sound of kids playing all day. Didn't affect us because the noise stopped way before we tried to sleep anyway.
Overall - would have used site again had traffic route not been so bad, nice laid back site with nice staff who appear to be helpful in whatever they can.

We visited as part of a large group of families in August. The site was very large and we were invited to pitch up where ever we liked, which was good. The staff were very friendly and relaxed, and on the whole we were happy with the facilities.
However, I did feel that the price - £25 a night - was a little steep considering that we didn't have electrical hook up and I would have expected for this price for the site to at least have a pool. There was a play ground which was okay, but the beach was pretty grim (although the crabbing was awesome!).
Because of the price, lack of a decent beach and no other entertainment for the kids other than a climbing frame, we won't be returning.

This site is a hidden gem and we all loved it even our dog refused to get back in the camper when it was time to leave. We came across it by accident after leaving another site that we hated. We only stayed for 1 night as a stopover before getting a ferry to IOW the following day and I wish we had stayed longer.
The site is very rustic with a fantastic children's play area in the centre of one of the fields. The receptionist showed us to our pitch pointing out where best to go as the ground was still recovering after the recent poor weather. They did not ask for money up front and gave us the option to settle in then go back up and pay. The staff were a credit to the site and so laid back.
There were a few rules but these were made clear from the start as guidance for happy camping rather than rules which was great. Free range eggs are available which is a must and they are delicious and campfires are allowed. I only wish we were prepared to have one.
The view was fantastic we could see IOW, hurst castle and the needles from our pitch. Bathrooms were great however the shower head being in the ceiling is a problem if your not planning on washing your hair, luckily I was.
We luckily had bikes and my husband went into the local town for supplies as the shop did not have anything but it was not a problem.
The walks nearby are great and my dog loved the freedom and walks she went on.
Would highly recommend and we will hopefully be going back and staying for longer in the near future. There are a few facilities such as a breakfast bar and another shop on site which I assume open in high season as deliveries were being made whilst we were there but they were not open.

Stayed here on a windy weekend - luckily the hedge row helped keep us sheltered a bit. The toilet / shower facilities where excellent and was always clean and tidy ( cleaning lady needs a gold star). Great to be allowed to have campfires which is a must even if it's just to toast marshmallows
I was really impressed with how the owners take security / noise levels seriously with someone walking around and checking alls ok a few times in the evening - this allowing everyone to have an enjoyable stay.
Three fields that are not too far away from the toilet block.
Seems lots of walks around - we did the loop around the marshes / bird area very pleasant.
One thing I would definitely suggest is two or three wind breaks to help shelter the area in front / around your tent.
Will visit again and hope for sunshine instead of wind and rain that we seem to be having this summer!

We went down as 3 families (9 kids from 7 down to 8 months old). Stayed for 3 nights in what has to be the wettest and windest camping we have ever done. It was over the Jubilee weekend, so we were all in good form to enjoy ourselves and even the rain didn't spoil it!
It is our 2nd trip and we have booked up another one in August.
We love everything and one of the favourites is the wonderful cycling both towards Hurst Castle and Lymington, everyone enjoys it and it sure makes us all sleep well.
The playarea is great and the kids love going over to see the horses in the nearby field. We all love having our own fires and especially being able to eat so many marshmallows.

What a gem of a site. Stayed with a group of 12 ladies from our church. Found the site on this website and it looked good. Spoke to very friendly and helpful person on phone when booking who made the process of booking for a group so simple.
Arrived on a damp and windy Friday and was shown a great spot with shelter from the gusts. We were free to camp anywhere but took their advice. They also have an extremely accurate weather forecasting system on their computer and told us it would be dry till 10pm sat then rain till 10am sun followed by sunshine - they were right - amazing!
There were three large fields for camping - all pretty flat with hedge round the outside. There was some puddles in the fields as we have had so much rain recently- but not too bad. You can have campfires on the ground (£5 per bag wood), we didn't this time but there were a few on site.
Toilet facilities were very good, pretty new and regularly cleaned. There are two blocks for each sex next to each other. The campsite was pretty empty when we visited so cannot comment on how busy the facilities get, though did come at easter when it was much busier (and sunnier!) and never had to wait then.
Campsite owners are so relaxed and friendly. Our tents were soaked on the sunday morning but we were told we could go out for the day and come back later to pack up. So refreshing!
Location of site was perfect for us. Close to town with pubs and a waitrose! Also we love walking and site is only 10 mins walk down good paths to the coast. Had lovely walk from there to keyhaven then out to Hurst Castle (and back on ferry). A great site, lovely people and we will be back!

We stayed at Hurst View with 6 other families and found the site to be very welcoming.
Lovely to be able to pitch where you want and the bonus of camp fires being allowed. The toilets and showers were always clean and tidy.
There are easy walks straight from the campsite, they are gravel paths suitable for walking and cycling. You can walk to the nearest shingle shore in 10 mins, looking out to the Isle of Wight.
Lymington and Keyhaven are within an hour easy walk. We will definitely be returning.

My husband and I have just had a great time at Hurst View camp site, the staff where lovely nothing was too much trouble very helpful. We have a little dog called Rocky he loved it because all the great walks we could take him on all close to the site. They had new shower blocks which were always clean and what a change to have a nice hot shower, we have stayed in a few places with our camper van but not a patch on Hurst View, the shop was open for a couple of hours a day which was just right to get milk and bread did not expect it to be open all day this time of year. Over all we think this site was one of the best we have stayed at and would go back again and again, as the for the review that said it was scruffy and the loos had not been cleaned and had no atmosphere, where did she stay because it was not this campsite that we have just stayed at. We give it 5*.
