A couple of our friends invited my wife and I to camp with them at New Hall Farm, Edingley Notts. It is very close to where we live, so we hadn't considered the site before.
The site is near to Southwell with its beautiful Minster and town of mostly Georgian and Victorian buildings.
The site is for adults only and is perched on top of Robin Hood hills. This affords panaramic views in all directions of the lovely rolling Nottinghamshire countryside.
The site is on a working farm and the site owners are busy farmers, but still have time to talk to and assist their guests. They have worked hard to produce a good quality site and it shows.
The pitches are fairly level (some more than others) and the grass is nice and short. There are several EHU pitches and some with hard standing. The toilet block is spotlessly clean and ample to cope with a fairly full site.
There was no noise at all after around 10pm and this remaind so until around 8am the following day. A lie-in in a tent!
Locally, the Reindeer Inn in Edingley serves delightful food and their carvery is legendary!
Local attractions include:- Southwell Minster (8min) Sherwood Forest and Major Oak (20min) Rufford Park (15min) North Leverton Windmill (25min) Newstead Abbey (18min)
All in all, a beautifully maintained tranquil site, set in the lovely rolling countryside of Nottinghamshire. Well worth a visit. We will be returning many more times to come.

Back home after a very enjoyable stay at this lovely campsite.
First visit, it won't be the last! Clean and roomy toilet block, ample hook ups, lovely panoramic views from all areas of the site.
We picked this campsite after reading the reviews and can only agree with everyone else that this site is a little gem!
Big thanks to the owners who make everyone welcome and ensure that you have everything you need to enjoy your stay.
Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet break away.

Just got back from a very relaxing weekend staying at New Hall Farm. Although it was quite busy, we were given free choice of where to pitch as we didn't require EHU, so chose right at the bottom of the field so had a lot of space and privacy.
It was on a slight hill but didn't cause us any problems. David was very pleasant and helpful, was always a phone call away on his mobile if you need him, but not at all obtrusive.
The 'honesty box' ice cream was lovely and a very nice touch. The scenery around the site was beautiful, and waking up on a Sunday morning to a view across the cornfield was lovely.
Southwell Workhouse was very interesting, but do give yourself at least a couple of hours for your visit, as you have your own personal audio guide and it does take a while to go round.
We bought cheese and bread from the Old Theatre Deli in Southwell for a tent picnic on Saturday night, highly recommended! The Carvery at
The Old Reindeer was excellent value for money at £7. 95, but we were glad to have booked in advance as the place was packed 5 minutes after opening!
All in all can highly recommend New Hall Farm and the surrounding area for a peaceful weekend escape.

Stayed here for a week and wanted to stay longer, it's a gem. The owners of the site were very friendly and helpful. The views from the site are lovely and the walks locally are great our dog really enjoyed them.
The facilities were clean, spacious and yes the showers were the best we have ever used camping.
The Old Reindeer pub served great food (and beer) with Fairfield being close with a co-op store for groceries and papers. One evening we had a take-away from a chinese in Fairfield which was scrumptious.
Southwell was well worth having an explore, quaint shops to investigate.
We will definitely be returning, not soon enough though.

They say first impressions counts. On arrival up a very steep track with many pot holes we turned into the site which looked like a storage area for caravans, some in need of tlc.
The reception is not manned but our name was on a board (not very welcoming while setting up a man appeared (the owner) he seemed pleasant but looked very shabby in his appearance.
The views are outstanding, the showers kept clean by all who use them but the water pressure poor.
Our stay was pleasant enough, although I think it is used by many regulars, sorry but we will not be returning
Owner's response: To address the points you have raised. Our farm drive is grade one tarmac but it is disappointing and perhaps a little unwelcoming, that sadly Notts. County Council have given their repair priority to the main trunk roads however your complaint has been noted and passed on to the Highways Dept. and we have been assured that some repair work will result. I always wear a tie when attending church but not when working on the farm; sorry if my appearance in overalls was off-putting. David Brown

Close to main routes but situated in a delightful village. Beautiful countryside rolls away as far as the eye can see.
Good entrance road through farmland, great welcome board to indicate pitch number. A sense of peace and tranquillity, we listened to the church bells pealing across the fields as we opened the van door.
Very friendly site owners who take a real interest in their visitors. Well spaced pitches, beautiful showers and reception chalet with books and information on walks and farming information.
Adult only site to which we hope to return this season.

We chose this site for it's quiet and peaceful location and we weren't disappointed. The views, especially from the non EHU tent field are fantastic, which makes a change as most sites save the best pitches for the wobble boxes IMO.
Although it was windy we pitched at the bottom of the field as the pitches are flatter and didn't have any problems. We were lucky enough to spot a tawny owl in the trees on our last evening as well.
We didn't find the showers a problem at all, although water pressure is a bit slow I've experienced worse in hotels.
The only thing that would be an improvement would be to have a water tap for the tent field as it is a bit of a trek up to the water point before your morning cuppa.
Can only agree with other reviewers recommendations about the Reindeer pub and the Old Theatre tea rooms in Southwell are excellent too.
It's a lovely area for walking, not as flat as we thought it might be, and we made full use of our OS map walking miles of local footpaths to walk off all that food!
A great site, will definitely return.

We stayed here between Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th June. This was our debut at camping and I'm really pleased we picked this site. From arrival we were made to feel welcome and we were shown to our pitch and given an overview of the site and a pack about the local area and attractions, including the 20 minute walk to the Old Reindeer, which was also excellent for food and drink and highly recommended.
We were lucky with the weather, and the views over the countryside were stunning. There is plenty of wildlife if you're in to photography, and you will probably see, or certainly hear, 'Phillip' the cock pheasant.
The WC's and showers were spacious and very clean - faultless. The waste facilities are well thought out and they very much encourage recycling.
The site was quite and no raucous noise, except for the poor chap in the next tent who was oblivious to the noise he made throughout the night - thankfully we'd stocked up on ear plugs!
In fact there are no negatives to report at all about this site, and we certainly recommend it.
We have rated everything 9/10 although as I say, this was our debut at camping, so there is nothing to measure against.

As with the other reveiws, I can only say this is an excellent hidden Gem.
Booked weekend pitch, after searching on UKCampsite.co.uk. Arrived friday evening, name and pitch No 6,listed on blackboard.
As I approached the pitch I was greeted by the owner who shook my hand and guided me into ample pitch. We were given an information pack, listing information on the farm, areas to visit and a map with local walks.
As our child was away, we chose this as it is an adult only site. The peace was bliss.
We will certainly use this site more, as the famous Southwell is only 3 miles away.

Went here to test out recently bought unit and did not want children about. Found it was excellent site, on a slight very slight slope, clean free showers, really peaceful, great views, friendly and helpful owners.
Shops and eating pub a 5 minute drive away.
A great site to rest and relax.
