Camped here for two nights, over a weekend and would just like to confirm all the positives from previous reviews, when we arrived there was no-one in reception but there is a notice board with names on, telling you where to pitch, we pitched on the small adjacent field which is on a slight slope, within the boundaries of the site, the reception is packed full of local information and is where you can pick up your information brochures/leaflets for the site. The friendly owner came over and introduced herself whilst we were pitching to ask if we were ok and did we require any additional info etc, one thing you should be aware of, is the walk to the pub, one section is down a narrow lane with no footpaths so care should be taken, the pub itself did a carvery for £6.50 and only £5.00 on an early bird menu 17:00 - 18:00 mon to fri. We visited Sherwood Pines on the recommendation of the owner, which has walks and cycle trails, adventure playgrounds etc, well worth a visit. Lovely site in a great location and I understand they are extending the tent field next year, will visit again.

We had five nights here last week and we enjoyed it very much. The owner let us pitch where we liked as it wasn't full then ( but it was the weekend) Lovely views over the valley and so quiet. Just what we wanted. Toilet block is exceptionally clean. We did find the water pressure a little low, but that is because they are higher than the reservoir ( No problem, not having a moan) There is nothing to moan about. Lovely couple run it, very friendly, there if you need them, but not in your face like some sites. Spacious pitches and well drained. We even saw the little owls on the site. No noise at night, just the trees and just stars!

Great site if you want peace and quiet. Recommend it highly.

We shall be back as soon as we can. Thank you.

Just returned from our first visit to New Hall Farm - so good we will be returning next weekend!

Lovely owners, an amazing panoramic view and spacious pitches.

Toilets and showers are exceptional - very clean and functional. No hairdryers though, so make sure you bring your own (there are plug sockets you can use).

Local pub serving really good food is a 25 min walk through the fields (downhill) and you can work off the food and pints on the way back. Pub takes card payments as long as your order is over £10.

Dave's beef baps on Saturday night are delicious - £3 - ready at 6pm. Make sure you order by mid day on Saturday to avoid disappointment!

Also a nice touch was the ice cream available at reception - help yourself any time and leave your money in the tin!

This site is really beautiful and peaceful - highly recommended. My only wish would be for a full length mirror in the ladies!

Great site on top of a hill on a farm. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The site is small and sloping slightly. The toilet block is immaculate but the water pressure a bit on the low side.
Lovely views and no traffic noise at this site! If you want a peaceful stay in the country this is great and Southwell is only 3 miles away.

OK. It's good, in fact very good. Peaceful, quiet, immaculately clean, friendly.

We use this site to visit local relatives and yet again this years stay was a good as always. As its adults only its extremely quiet during the week only getting busy at weekends.

There are lots of nice walks for the dog locally and even a dog exercise field (yes, a whole field!) on the site.

Only one downside, as its on the top of a hill expect to spend extra time in the showers, due to the very low water pressure, but they are clean, hot and free! so no real hardship.

Just arrived from a lovely weekend at Newhall Farm and I voice the same opinions as other reviews. We were greeted by the friendly owners and shown to our pitch. A useful welcome pack was also given to us on arrival.

The location is lovely, with beautiful views.

The fact it is adult only makes it a very peaceful site and perfect for not doing very much apart from relaxing.

The toilet and shower facilities are kept very clean.

It is a nice walk into a couple of the local villages.

We went into Newark upon Trent on the Saturday and visited the market.

Unfortunately we didn't get to the Old Reindeer pub and we didn't get time to go to Southwell, but passed through and the Minster looked lovely.

A nice touch was the owners saying goodbye to everyone on the Sunday morning.

We will definitely be going back.

Just back from a couple of nights at New Hall Farm, and can endorse what previous reviewers report. This is a peaceful, clean and friendly site which we very much enjoyed.

The farm site is tucked away up a lane, then a track, so you feel quite 'away from it all' whilst still being within easy striking distance of places to eat and and things to see and do. When we arrived, I have to say that our first impressions were not quite of the open camping fields that we'd expected - the site was quite full and pitches seemed quite close together. We were shown to a larger pitch by the trees, which was very sloping and in shade in the afternoon and evening, and pretty breezy too! BUT. Before you get the idea we weren't satisfied, once we'd settled in we quickly came to appreciate all the good points, and there are many, about the site.

We're quite new to touring in our campervan, so we don't have much to compare, but we found New Hall Farm really quiet and peaceful. Considering the number of people there, there was hardly a sound - and absolute silence at night. The toilets and showers are exceptionally clean (as a previous reviewer has noted, the excellent idea of leaving a mop and bucket and J-cloths handy encourages you to keep them so). Yes, the water pressure for the showers is a little low but, as Dave pointed out, they're warm and they're wet!

David and Jill make a point of visiting each pitch - in our case on Saturday morning - to check all is okay. This is genuine customer service and Dave is very interesting to talk to about the farm.

To escape the shade and the breeze, we took our chairs (and a book and bottle of beer) into the field beyond the hedge and spent an idyllic afternoon listening to skylarks and the flap of wood pigeons.

A pleasant walk down that same field and along a couple of quiet roads brings you to Edingley and The Old Reindeer Pub. The extensive carvery there is excellent value. (We had good Whitby fish and chips.) The walk back is largely uphill, but somehow we made it in quicker time than going! Must have been the ale.

The only place we visited was Southwell, just a short drive from the site, and we were very impressed by this little town. The minster is fine, but we found the Southwell Workhouse - a pleasant short walk from the town - to be excellent and moving, and thoroughly recommended.

So, all in all, an excellent stay. I haven't yet mentioned David's beef rolls, but we tried them and yes, they really are as good as they say!

Just got back from a 5 day stay here and the weather has been fantastic, Dave & Jill the owners were really friendly Dave showed us the best place to pitch as it was a little windy when we got there so where we set up tent blocked the wind completely.

The farm is a working farm so expect to see the odd tractor pass but believe me this will not bother anybody. The views are fantastic and it is so peaceful, I could have just sat there all day but we do like to get out and about, and there is plenty of places to visit.

There are some nice walks around the farm area one in particular from the back of the farm across the fields to the local village where there are a couple of nice pubs a spar and a co op, we had a meal in the Reindeer and it was really nice and reasonable price.

All in all this is one of the best sites we have been to and we have been to quite a few we will definitely be going back, and don't forget to try Daves beef babs on Saturday night they are really nice.

We recently bought a caravan after not having had one for a few years and decided to try somewhere fairly local for a weekend away. Having got a grown up family we welcomed the fact that this was an adults only site.

I can confirm what others have said. It is indeed peaceful and tranquil. Although there are only 3 sinks and two showers in the gents' washblock I was often the only one in there, so there was no problem re. Availability. The shower cubicle was lovely and spacious; there is loads of room.

The weekend we were there (end of March) it was rather windy and David was perfectly happy for us to repitch a little further away from the trees (in case of falling branches). In fact he was very helpful when we arrived, helping us to position our van as we wanted.

Being fairly high up, the views were lovely and there was a good walk to Edingley with the lovely pub (The Reindeer). David's beef baps were great too.

All in all, this is a great site for a bit of P&Q and we'll definitely be back.

As an adult only site this place appealed to us. We weren't disappointed! this is the most tranquil and peaceful campsite I've been to so far. The owners of the farm will make you more than welcome and have plenty of info about the surrounding area.

Sherwood forest is only about 12 miles away plus there are a number of nearby country parks so plenty to have a look around.

The facilities consist of two showers in the gents (i assume the same in ladies but, obviously, I didn't go in!) and the usual sinks and toilets. These are all kept spotless and are modern. The number of showers doesn't seem to be a problem as there never seemed to be anybody else using them. Maybe it would be different when the site is full.

We took our dog and he was made welcome. They ask you to keep dogs on their leads around the site, which is fair enough but there are plenty of adjoining fields for them to run about.

All in all the place is ideal. Peaceful, clean, nice surroundings and great owners. Try it, you'll like it!
