We only live 8 miles away from this great little site so have made it our regular quick weekend get away from it all break for when we haven't the time to travel far.
It feels like we could be miles away, the location is great and the views are spectacular. Friendly owners make it a pleasure to book here.
Well kept spacious pitches (we love it on the grass camping field) spotless shower block. Peaceful adults only site.
Try The Reindeer Pub for excellent food. We know how lucky we are to live in this area and it's great to have a site like this close by to escape the stresses of the working week

Just returned from our BH weekend at this lovely site. It is an Adults Only site of approx 27 pitches and accommodates Caravans, Folding Campers, Motor Homes and all kinds of tents! The site is on a working farm and the owners may not always be around when you arrive, but everyone's name is listed on a welcome board against their pitch number so it's easy to find out where you are supposed to be.
The facilities were very good and the shower rooms in both ladies and gents were enormous, water was hot and the showers were free, the only slight downside is that due to the sites location on top of a hill the water pressure is low, so power showers they weren't. The facilities were cleaned regularly throughout the day and I never had to queue even though the site was full.
There is also washing up facilities under cover, but no fridge for freezing ice blocks, although most pitches have EHU available.
One nice touch was the fridge full of delicious ice cream made on a local farm and the honesty box on top to pay for it, the owners also provide beef rolls on the Saturday night, produced from their herd (I think), these smelt lovely but we didn't get a chance to try them as you had to order by Saturday lunchtime.
The views from the site are brilliant and the owners have provided a little observation log cabin, for you just ti sit and chill
Probably the only downside to this little gem of a site, is the fact that most of the pitches are not level, but the owners due provide blocks etc if needed.
Definitely a site that we will be returning to and I would whole heartedly recommend to others, if you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday in a lovely area.

This is a lovely site. The owners are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
We spent from Sat - Tues of late May BH weekend.
The pitches are huge and there is just the right amount of them too. Everybody on the site chatted to each other and I am sure it was because the owners have made the site so friendly. There was no rush to get you off the pitches either at the end of the few days.
There is a fridge with local scrummy ice-cream in and an honesty box which made me feel like the world still had some trust in it.
The showers are massive and whilst there is not a lot of pressure, hot and free!We did get caught out as the site was full Sunday and they ran out of hot water for a while but no one minded .A note if you like to dry your hair after a shower then take a drier.
The cleanliness of the facilities and the site was top quality with bins & recycling bins every few pitches. I thought this was particularly thoughtful as with not many pitches a central place would have been sufficient but it is typical of these owners to think about their customers. The setting of the site is fantastic with views across 3 counties. There is one road in & out with a few potholes but easily navigable.
There is a lot to see around the area with a must visit place in Southwell, The Workhouse. It really makes you stop & think.
If you fancy a Chinese then go for the Golden Palace in the nearby village it was one of the best we'd had.
We really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go again.

Stayed for the Bank holiday weekend with friends for a birthday get together. As it involved friends from different areas, Barry was brilliant at answering any emails and able to confirmed last minute bookings. Site was peaceful and able to see countryside for miles around as the campsite is based at the top of the hill.
Owners came and chatted with you everyday to make sure we was happy. Local taxi service and Chinese takeaway was helpful and friendly.
Two things I should mention; firstly the cold showers and the pressure of the water, which was very low, although the shower units were the largest I've seen it wasn't an enjoyable experience (had a shower very late morning).
Secondly it would be a good idea if a single person rate was set as 3 of our group were in small tents but was still charged the same price as a couple in a 6 man tent. Seemed expensive at £18.00 per night for them.
If you do stay in the non electric section, stay within the trees as our big tent got battered and end up breaking a pole.
Owner's response: We are sorry this was a less than pleasurable experience for this party; the windy weather did not help and a cold shower was unfortunate. Apparently a hot tap had been left running full for some time: we apologise for that. Regarding the pricing: 3 pitches for 3 tents were requested. The 3 night bank holiday minimum stay was understood prior to booking. What we actually accommodated was 4 pitches and 4 tents for 2 nights. We only charged them for 2 nights. David and Jill - owners.

We have just spent a week here and it was great, the site is quiet and extremely well looked after with a large clean shower block.
When we arrived we were met by the owners who had blocks of wood etc to help us level up as the site has a slope and gave us the lowdown on the area. Plenty of walks and places to go.
The local pub, the Old Reindeer is a must with the best food we had had in years in a pub, a full menu and a brilliant carvery (not just joints of meat but pies, casseroles etc) for a low price, we had 2 drinks, large carvery and dessert for £29
We would recommend this site to anyone looking for peace and quiet and a great welcome
Brilliant!

This is an excellent site with very well kept clean facilities and really helpful/friendly owners and we would definitely visit again. Compared to some of the shower rooms we have come across in the past you could literally hold a party in the ladies (didn't inspect the mens but my husband was most impressed too).
Plenty of room, lots of hooks, nice big bench seat and unlimited free hot water. No wet/soggy clothing to dry off afterwards!
Reception area with plenty of leaflets on places to visit; books to read (a donation is suggested for the local Air Ambulance Service) plus info on local pubs / menus etc. There are also several nice walks directly from the site of varying distances depending on ability and all the information is provided on arrival.
The Old Reindeer Pub in Edingley became one of our favourite haunts for an evening meal - their Carvery is exceptional and fantastic value for money, plus very friendly staff and locals.
We were fortunate that we had booked an exceptionally lovely couple of weeks for our stay as far as the weather was concerned and it could possibly feel a bit windswept and remote should the weather not be as favourable as the site is quite high up.
We have already recommended this site to several of our friends.

What can I say, we came across this site at last minute and I am so glad that we did. All the other good reviews are correct and I can only add to the fact that this site is well worth a visit. It is quiet and peaceful with wonderful views of open fields.
Upon our arrival at the site the owners were more than helpful, they even loaned us some blocks as we had none to get the van as level as possible.
The toilet and shower block were always clean with none of the usual mud and grass trails all over the floor, this I assume was helped by the fact the site is adults only. It is on a working farm but we were never disturbed by any farm machinery. Also on the Saturday evening they put on fresh beef rolls at only £3 each, these were very nice.
All in all I will certainly be spending some more time at this wonderful peaceful site.

What a gem of a site! We have now visited this site twice in two weekends. We only live 11 miles away but you feel that you are further away.
The views are stunning from most of the pitches, most are on grass however we were located on a hard standing pitch. Due to having a mover we manoeuvred our van front on with a view of the valley.
The toilet block is very very clean and warm, the water flow is a little slow, but very hot. The dawn chorus awakes you in the morning with the sound of song birds and wood peckers.
We are looking forward to visiting this site again in the summer months.

We have just come home from a 5-day stay here, and cannot recommend it enough. Spotlessly clean showers and loos, plentiful hot water at any time of day, the friendly and helpful owners look after this site really well.
Immaculate lawns, very peaceful area, a real retreat! We had an XL tent and were not charged extra, our friend had a small tent and she was given an unexpected discount on arrival, which was really appreciated.
Showers and electric hook-up are included in the price, so good value. We will be back soon!

What a fantastic site, we arrived on Friday afternoon, pitched up and had the best view ever on a campsite. The site was almost full but it was so peaceful and the weather really good.
We had two days of relaxation and good to be away from the phone. We will definitely be going back again before the end of the summer. The toilet block was spotless and the water couldn't have been hotter.
