Making use of the seven nights for the price of six, we spent a perfect week here. The site was so peaceful and, being on top of the hill, our pitch had lovely views on both sides. There was plenty of space between the pitches but although ours was completely level, we did notice some other motorhomes using their chocks.
The wardens were welcoming, friendly and helpful and we were pleasantly surprised when a reserved sign appeared on our pitch. We take our motorhome off site every day and there have been a number of other campsites where we have returned at the end of the day to find our pitch otherwise occupied, even when we have left behind a notice and our electric cable! However, we had no worries here thanks to the wardens and their reserved sign.
The facilities were very good, kept spotlessly clean, and the shower cubicles the biggest we have ever seen. The water pressure can be on the low side as a result of the campsite being above the reservoir but the owner has done his best to remedy this by installing a pump. However, we didn't find the water pressure to be a problem.
We thought the welcome packs were a nice touch as was the fridge containing delicious local ice cream for sale and we can recommend the strawberries and cream flavour, the caramel fudge, the toffee fudge, the elderflower and gooseberry and the rum and raisin. Well, it was a very hot week!

What a beautiful gem ! We only stayed for the one night as we had just collected our caravan from a local dealer and wanted to get familiar with it. So peaceful, clean and friendly owner David and lovely wardens who was very helpful with us when siting the caravan giving us levelling boards and tips where to eat.
We walked down the field to the Old Reindeer Pub with the dog and ate in the bar. The food was well worth it so would highly recommend the all you can eat carvery. Will definitely return to this lovely adults only site. Only regret is we stayed just the one night.
The facilities were also spotless and encourage recycling etc.

The description of this site stated “peaceful and tranquil”, but unfortunately thanks to the “Mofest” approx one mile away there was no evidence of this.
The owner did come over to apologise and stated that he had not received any help from the Police, Council or organisers with a view to taming the noise levels. Make sure you check before you book that this festival, or any others, are not taking place.
Otherwise this site was good. Last section of drive is quite steep, so don’t stop as there was a large amount of gravel and we got wheel spin, just keep going up to the shower block. Grass was very tidy, shower/toilet block was lovely and clean, wardens very pleasant and helpful.
Lovely views, plus a walkway down to the village and pub, although very steep to walk back up to the site.

Management response: "Approx. one mile away"!! Your complaint has been forwarded to the local council. |

Just returned from New Hall farm. The first of what I hope will be many visits to this adult only oasis of quiet.
You will have read the other reviews on here and I can add nothing new. The place is brilliant. The farmer owner has taken on site wardens who are lovely people. On arrival they will show you to your pitch, show you all the facilities then leave you to set up. No hassle for money just settle in and come and see us when you are ready.
We stayed with our normal group of 3 couples in tents with EHU on grass pitches that were large and protected by a hedgerow. This site is high up so the views are stunning, and I do mean stunning.
We ate out a couple of times at the Old Reindeer pub in the village. WOW. The Carvery is awesome and no restrictions on returning to the counter for more of anything if you so wish. Highly recommended.
Campsite has a 10pm quiet rule and it was followed all bank holiday weekend. Peace and quiet. Bliss.
We will defo be going back to this site. 10/10

In all our years of camping we have never been to a finer spot than New Hall Farm. This site ticks all the boxes – spacious pitches, excellent facilities, incredible views and its adults only. The site has some fantastic walks and the market town of Southwell is only a 10 minute drive away. We’ve already booked our next trip and can’t wait to visit again.

Spent a very pleasant and restful weekend here. It seemed to have been raining for months and months before we arrived and all the local walks were very muddy, but we managed to walk to Halam for an excellent evening meal at the Waggon which allows dogs in the bar. (We took some crocs to put on in case our boots were so muddy that they wouldn't let us in. ) The campsite is lovely and the facilities are spotless. It is a family run site attached to a farm and we were met by Chris who was very helpful and friendly. Later we met David, who was also very friendly and informative. There is a dog exercise area which is very big and ice cream available in reception with an honesty box for the money. Some pitches are slightly sloping because the site is on a hill, but Chris sorted us out with some planks supplied free of charge. The showers are low pressure, again because the site is on a hill, but the water is warm and you just need to allow a bit longer to get rinsed off. Can't find any other faults! Altogether a super site. We will go back again when England has dried up a bit and we can do some walks without so much mud.

Our thanks to David and Liz for making us so welcome. We've stayed twice in a couple of months. We have a large 5th Wheel, and managed to fit on 2 different pitches. The regulars made us so welcome. The washrooms, sinks and laundry are always spotlessly clean. The views are unbelievable. The walks straight from the site are wonderful. Best of all the curfew really works! It really was quiet every night, even when the site was full and the weather really good. Love the wild flowers and the natural care of the land on this working farm. We will return next time we are in the Nottingham area.

A lovely, quiet site, with great views from the hill top. The toilets and showers are large and kept clean at all times. Water pressure is low in the showers but enough to wash in. The shower cubicles are large with benches and hooks.
This is an Adults Only site with a lot of repeated business and familiarity.
The owners are extremely pleasant, sharing an interest in astronomy. We will definitely be returning as it's the first sunny weekend we've had out with the van and the first time we've felt relaxed enough to stay at the caravan all weekend instead of venturing off site.
We only left the site for the Good food at The Old Reindeer in Edingley which is also reasonably priced.

This site is less than an hour from home but it was a great escape for a weekend. Adults only and very tranquil with great views over the rolling Nottinghamshire countryside. We had booked along with some friends in another caravan and were please that with the help of the owner could park our caravans on adjacent pitches. The reception building (shed) was great, full of ideas for visits to local attractions and maps that you could take with you for walks from the site – it was a great walk into Southwell and then back through some beautiful wild meadows. There was also a freezer full of ice cream along with an honesty box for payment, great when you got back from hiking. The shower / toilet block was always clean, I suppose that my only gripe was that the water pressure while showering was a little low. All in all a 5 star site and one we shall look forward to returning to.

Not sure whether to leave a review in case other people book it!
We've been coming here for 5 years as it's only 45min. We love the tranquility, rural feel, views and dog walking. Very friendly and helpful owners. Facilities invariably spotless and yes the shower pressure isn't great. Info cabin with quality ice cream (honesty box).
Food at the nearby Waggon at Halam is good and you can take your dog in the bar area. Hint: Instead of walking along the road, go straight on out of the farm entrance down the bridleway (a bit muddy if wet). But a nicer walk is to turn right up the road about 200m then left (down the clearly signed footpath on the edge of the field). Lovely tree lined path into the village further down. Enjoy.
