This site is ideal for anyone wanting peace and quiet. First visit, we stayed four days and couldn't find fault in any part of the stay. The views are fantastic and the only sounds are from the birds and cattle. The owners are friendly, helpful and accessible. The facilities are immaculate, with hot showers, dishwashing and toilets easily accessible from anywhere on site. There is a well prepared welcome pack, a reception with plenty of information on places to visit during your stay and there are even a couple of ordnance survey maps available to borrow. The pitch we had was clean and the grass cut short with plenty of space for the tent and car. Local shops are a couple of miles away but this adds to the tranquility. They include butchers, grocers, bakers, supermarket and pubs. There are electric hook ups for tents, and for those hardcore campers (not me) who wish to get away from it all, there's an electric free grassed area well away from the main site for tents.
To quote the owner 'mother nature has done the hard work'. That is for sure but the owners contribute to a lovely site.
Adults only site
Would we go again. Already booked

This weekend was the first time away this year, and booked 2 nights. Followed the instructions from Google Maps and got hopelessly lost. Arrived at the site and was met by David who gave me a choice of two pitches. After that every thing was just great, very quiet, very clean, fantastic views, and beautiful Sunsets. The pitches are a little uneven but had planks loaned for levelling, all in all a Great site. We visited Southwell and where recommended to try the final or was it the last whistle Pub, if you're into railways this is the place to be. Would I go again to this site you bet I will.
PS the dawn chorus was amazing

A Little piece of Heaven.
We love coming to this site, for us its a twenty five minute drive away from home. The site is marvellous. The owners are very friendly and help you with pitching, supplying blocks, as some pitches have a bit of a slope. They supply lots of useful information about the area. Its adults only which makes for peace and quiet, with the occasional tooting of an owl in the night, and lovely bird song in the morning. The views from the site wherever you are pitched are amazing. The camping field for tents, has a great view towards Southwell. Southwell is a nice place for a visit with lots of quaint shops and many traditional pubs 'The last whistle' if you fancy a real pint (no food served when we visited) 'The Hearty Good Fellow' does very good food and the landlady is very friendly. The local pub 'The Old Reindeer' is a short walk into the village a footpath is signposted on the site. They do a superb carvery and allow dogs too. The surrounding area also has good walking, there are many walks directly from the site, a must if you like walking is a visit to the 'Halifax Bomber Memorial' the place where an aircraft crashed with the loss of lives in the second world war. Very moving place to visit.
All in all this is our favourite site and well worth a visit.

Wonderful site. Really well maintained pitches, well manacured grass. Fresh water points in several places. Facilities one descripton immaculate. Two shower cubicles(wet rooms), two WCs, two urinals and 3 wash basins and an under cover area for washing up. Under cover. I Never had to wait my turn even when the site was full over the Mayday weekend. The facilities were NEVER dirty or untidy. Thank you Gill, Davids partner) I can only assume the ladies facilities were of the same standard. (no urinals I would think, but I never checked)
Normally I would mention the sloping pitches, almost all over the entire site BUT on our arrival David, the owner. Appeared immediately out of nowhere, showed us to our pitch and provided wooden blocks and planks for levelling the van. So efficient was he the slight slopes were no problem Views of the surrounding country side were excellent also very attractive for walkers.
Thank you Gill and David for a pleasant stay on a very nice and good value site

We found this site on UK Campsite website and pleased we did.
Lovely peaceful site set on top of a hill with outstanding views of the local countryside. Modern facilities kept in immaculate condition by the owners David & Jill.
Plenty of pubs and other eateries nearby, we had a meal at The Old Reindeer in Edingley (excellent carvery at £6. 65 as well as a good selection of other meals)
Local attractions include Southwell Minster which is well worth a visit as is the historic town itself. The historic market town of Newark is only a short drive away and worth a visit.
Would we go back again? you bet we will!

We loved this sight. Views in every direction, didn't hear any traffic noise for the whole two days we were there, just the occasional tractor chugging by, and dark starry skies at night. Excellent birdwatching opportunities all around.
TV reception was good.
We didn't try any of the local pubs but there are a few nearby which sounded nice, one being a 20 min walk across the fields (uphill on the return).
Toilet block was warm and spotlessly clean every time we visited and never had to queue.
Although the owner was not on site to meet us when we arrived (it is a working farm) there were instructions on where to pitch and phone numbers in case we had a problem. We rather liked this more relaxed approach.
The reception shed had lots of helpful info on the surrounding area and even maps you could borrow, also ice cream to buy (honesty box to pay).
There is a well stocked co-op in nearby Southwell for groceries.
When we met the owner the following day he was very pleasant and chatty despite obviously being busy. He told us the water pressure wasn't great but we didn't find it a problem, and the showers are free after all.
Would recommend a few essentials if you go. Levellers, as some of the pitches are slightly sloping, a pipe for taking on water - we forgot and had to make several trips to the tap to fill our tank- and a torch as the only lights on site are by the toilet block.
Pitch cost us just £10 the first night (special offer on Tuesdays), and £15 the second including ehu, which we felt was really good value.
Overall a lovely little site which we will be visiting often.

Just back from this gem of a site, lovely views, facilities spotless and modern. Only downside is that the flow of water to the showers is on the slow side otherwise can't fault it. Inbetween Southwell (lovely small town) the Minster is well worth a visit, and a little village Farnsfield that has a small supermarket a fab butchers and bakery, lots of places to visit in the area too. Will definitely go back.

Excellent site in all respects - friendly wardens, clean and pleasant facilities, and plenty to see in the area (Southwell Minster/workhouse, Nottingham, Derby etc).
The pitch had a good amount of space and a good hardstanding area. Excellent views. Good system of helping us find our pitch as late arrivals.
Highly recommend this site - we are sure we will be returning soon!

Very peaceful site, well away from main roads and traffic, with some cracking views all round.
Pitches are slightly sloping, but didn't cause too many problems.
The toilet block is very clean and well maintained and the shower cubicles are huge, just let down by the very low water pressure.
The owners are lovely, chatty and friendly.
The surrounding area has lots to do, with Sherwood Forest and Clumber park within 30 minutes drive and Southwell is less than 10 minutes drive or there is a fantastic walk which takes around an hour, to visit the Minster and the Workhouse.
A 20 minute walk down through the fields (take a torch) will take you to the Old Reindeer Inn at Edingley, a lovely, friendly pub.
All in all, a lovely site.

Firstly this site is so peaceful. The owners couldn't be more helpful, came straight to us to see if we needed any help. It is an adult only site so you can be sure of peace and quiet. Small site with lovely views. Facilities are very nice and kept spotlessly clean. There is 3 toilets, 2 showers for the ladies, nice roomy cubicles with room for clothes etc without getting them wet. Men's had two urinals, two cubicles and two showers. A summer house with lots of helpful information about the surrounding area. A very nice touch of a freezer with icecream for you to help yourself and leave money in an honesty box. Southwell is well worth a visit we walked from the site which took about an hour and was a lovely walk, we visited the workhouse which was very interesting. The pitch was £18 for a motorhome, two adults and a drive away awning. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.
