My family (2 adults 3 children under 9 years) visited site for 5 nights, upon arrival we paid remaining balance were greeted by 2 friendly ladies who assisted us to our pitch which was on the lower middle field. We were informed by another pleasant man who shown us where to site caravan and park car etc.
The site is beautiful set just a short walk to the beach, it is very well maintained grass cut daily, bins emptied daily, toilets cleaned daily.
After a night of staying we then had problems with this boot camp style site. Were asked not to fly kite in centre of field with children, my 9 1/2 year sons were told off for riding bike in upper field then later that evening we were told that we were being too noisy playing cards inside our caravan. Our next door neighbours were told to stop talking whilst sat outside the tent as they could be heard outside tent !
There were 4 showers in the mens block which only 1 shower actually worked, others were too hot or too cold.
You will need a car to go to local shop and chippy, roads not very safe to walk with children.
If you want to be asleep in bed by 10. 30pm then this is the site for you with lots of rules and regulations. Dont get me wrong have been on loads of sites and am happy to oblige to site rules but found this very old school.
We would not want to come back to this site, as we have been to others with just good facilities for less the price per night.

Short Wheel Base Land Rover with fold out bed accepted with a smile.
Very nice campsite, with fantastic views and a nice beach walk at night! Site was unfortunately very, very heavily governed by lots of little house rules which were off putting. We were the only ones in our field and were given a pitch number, though the best one in the site!
We were absolutely ravaged by torrential, driving salt rain that night, our tarp almost completely blown away! The next day, I was soaked to the skin and decided to find a place for breakfast instead of cook a fry up for me and my girlfriend.
But first, we decided we must use the tumble dryers, which were expensive and didn’t do anything at all, after two tokens worth, our clothes were soaked through.
We saw the site in a bad light, the rain had really tarnished the surface, but I would definitely return in summer months, site is recommended.
Footnote:
We had Breakfast at a place in Red Wharf Bay, fantastic cafe and restaurant!

We dropped our camper off for my friend to use, met by very friendly warden who helped find blocks and to manoeuvre the camper, we had a slightly sloping pitch but it wasn't a problem. We decided that when we returned the following weekend we would stay over if we could. My friend and her family had an excellent few days completely dry and sunny they loved the site and location.
We went back on the following Saturday and decided to take my 82 year old Mother, she had a bit of difficulty with the location of the showers and toilets (uphill)but the wardens did offer to help her. There is a shop and it would be good if this sold essentials (perhaps local produce?).
The only drawbacks for us were the car not being allowed on after dusk we could not risk having my Mum walk all the way down the field and the lack of cubicles for washing, cleaning teeth etc. The other rules were common sense.
Costs are a bit high (compared with other sites we have been to)but the location cannot be bettered.
Highly recommended I cannot wait to take my grandsons!

We arrived with some trepidation with regards to some of the rules and regs and comments in the reviews but they were all unfounded. Yes there are a lot of rules but the staff were friendly and helpful and with the exception of asking one bloke to stop flying the stunt kite which had already swept the top of our tent once we didn't see them pulling the police act.
The rules mean this is a spotless site and there is no drunken louts or people sweeping your tent with their headlights in the middle of the night! We were in the bottom field - a long walk from the posher loos but we had the little portaloo type ones handy (proper flushing ones not the hideous ones you get at events) which ok were basic but when you need facilities at 2am do you really mind! And we had our own little potwash hut too - the hot water ran out on the Saturday night but it was back up once the Gas man had been to top up the cylinder next morning.
The site is fantastically located and the access gates made it feel really secure. The 'sand' shower near the beach entry was a great touch and certainly helped keep the sand out of the beds!
We had an electricity free pitch - which does mean you get the more muddy end of the field especially when torrential showers hit - but it soon drained away as the ground is very soft and sandy (which also means it is handy to have the bigger plastic pegs for some of the critical guy ropes)
Moelfre is a nice little village and the chippy while it looks a little careworn served up a good meal while the general store has most of the basics you need - OK so there is not a supermarket handy but then isn't part of camping getting away from the mass produced world? Moelfre is also home to the 'best' teashop in Angelsey and it is dog friendly too!
I guess if you want a nice site you have to have the rules set as sadly common sense is often lacking these days - we will certainly be back

Having read some of the reviews we were left very worried we had made a bad choice. However it seems that the warden has left the camp and the site is now being run by the other wardens. They were friendly and helpful but did expect all rules to be followed at all times.
The site does not allow cars to enter after sunset, which I understands stops people coming and going freely but if you arrive late (due to traffic hold ups) as friends of ours did it is a problem. I am sure the site could have an exception for people arriving late (due to traffic - it was a Fri after all) as they were still allowed to enter, with luggage under arm, just not with their car!
It is expected that you will be quiet after 10.30 pm. We were a party of 8 (1 caravan 3 tents) and did not find this an issue. If this was not impose I can see how it may become rowdy when groups are sat around drinking, having the rule ensures it remains quiet at night, you can still sit around your tent/caravan chatting as long as you are considerate. They are very strict on where you pitch your unit which damped the atmosphere slightly as we felt our group was rather spread out.
Views are beautiful and access to the beach is excellent. There are some lovely local walks and you might even be lucky enough to see dolphins. It is close to a great traditional pub called the Pilot Boat which is reasonably priced for excellent sized potions which were pipping hot. The deco is personal choice but don't be put off by this, you can't book a table (which is always a good sign), so turn up early or be prepared to wait.
We would definitely return to this site but for a while longer as there is a lot to see around the local area.

Wardens are helpful just too many rules.
The toilet and showers were clean. Also if you are pitched in any fields but the first its quite a walk to them, especially if you have small children, would ask to be in the first field if we go again. Also the loos in the far field, the cubicles are a little on the small side, with your feet sticking out from under the door although we did laugh it is a little embarrassing, and people on the large size would definitely have a problem getting in
Straight onto a beautiful beach.

We have just returned from Dafarn Rhos after spending 11 nights there.
The sites toilets, showers and facilities are adequate but could be better for the fees charged, the small store in the village was not so good, an on site shop would be handy and would probably make a small fortune.
This site operates a no guests policy during peak season, this was not mentioned when we booked and was not on their website. I have family who live in Wales and always visit me whilst on holiday in Wales. When they arrived they were let in 'because they were here now' and charged a visitors rate of £8.00 for the 3 hrs they stayed. Any further visits would not be allowed.
We also found the staff were quite sharp on our first day. It would have been nice to be asked how was your journey? have you travelled far? etc not told very abruptly that you can't park there, it is a main entrance you know which does make you feel rather chastised and that is before you have even booked in. Not a good start to our holiday.
The other comments all appear quite negative, but we have been touring and camping for 25 years and consider ourselves seasoned campers with lots of experience. We have never had a welcome like that one before.
Following this I did notice that the wardens work very hard and if not directing campers to their pitches they were litter picking, mowing, cleaning or policing the rule book.
There are many rules, most of which are common sense and really don't need to be written or enforced with such vigour.
The site does enjoy stunning views and easy access to the beach whilst still remaining secure and the coastal walk is a must.
The no noise after 22.30 rule could be a problem if you were in a large party, but we found it nice that everywhere was still after 10.30

We stayed at this site for five nights. The campsite was lovely right on the lovely sandy beach. The showers were hot but the cubicles were tiny. In our field there were two portable loos for toilets which thankfully we didn't have to use, not really what you expect when you pay this amount.
The campsite is quite isolated as in you definitely need a car, but it suited us for what we wanted. Was a bit annoyed because next door to us the lady was talking to some friends outside their van after 10.30pm wasn't really bothering anybody but were told to quieten down by staff, yet just over the privets on the beach teenagers where blaring music all night.
All in all a lovely site but over priced and too many rules.

Great location near a lovely beach. The site is spotless, which is obviously a good thing but hardly surprising given the strict rules and regs enforced on site. Can't do this, can't do that. Align your tent within the markers, facing this way not that way. Can't drive onto site after a certain time as the gates are locked (though can enter as a pedestrian with a keyfob).
It really is a great site but does feel like you're back at school. If you can get over the rather strict rules, then you'd be hard pushed not be impressed by it's picturesque location. Toilets/showers are basic but clean.
Could do with a second washing up area as there is only one for the 4 fields, same applies to bins too. The rules on dogs is over the top, not even being able to throw a ball for our furry friends. The short lead rule is re-emphasised about 4 times, yet apparently it's ok for kids to ride bikes around peoples tents, making nuisances of themselves. My two dogs are better behaved than most of the kids there.
All said and done - I'd strongly recommend the site.

Have stayed here for about 20 nights over the last 3 years. Fantastic views and location next to a stunning beach with great walks on coastal path. Moelfre is a beautiful village. Can't comment on facilities as have own on board camper so don't use them. Rules are sensible and similar to most sites - but they do like to make sure you know every one of them as soon as you walk into the reception hut - you'll be fine if your a monk! To summarise - location is one of best, site and facilities are pretty good, prices OK but constant reminder about rules may be off putting for some.
