Just spent a long weekend here (thu/fri/sat nite) and had a brilliant time. They are quite particular about the rules, so we couldn't pitch right next to our friends, but it wasn't a major problem. There are no fires, but they have breeze blocks for you to put your bbq on so you don't have to worry about damaging the (well kept) grass.
It was great to have a big expanse of grass for the kids to play on and the view and beach nearby more than compensated for the slightly slopey pitches. Would definitely go again as for us (2 families with 3 kids under 4), it was the right mix of facilities vs freedom.

This site was well placed for the beach. Plenty of space you don't feel on top of each other. There are strict rules but these all seem to be common sense.
Toilet facilities were kept spotless at all times, although the site was quiet when we visited. Would wonder if there would be sufficient toilets and showers in the height of summer.
Wardens very helpful and friendly towards us.
They have just opened a butty van on site, very handy for bacon butties in the morning.
Definitely will be going back.

The location of this site is near perfect. The beach within a minute of the site is beautiful and there are lots of easy walks all around.
We were a party of 4 adults and 3 children visiting this site for 2 nights.
The site is fairly large but split into different fields so you don't feel crowded. There is no playground but all the tents etc. Are kept to the edges of the fields, giving plenty of playing space in the middle. The pitches are fairly level. We have a large tent so had to pay extra for a pitch with EHU as the ones without are too small.
The site was quiet and consisted mainly of families.
The toilet/shower block is at the top of the site in a portacabin. For the price we paid I have seen better. There is a portaloo at the bottom of the field, which is used constantly as people don't want to walk all the way to the top. This seemed to be cleaned in the morning but definitely needs doing 2/3 times a day. By early evening the smell was pretty bad. The dishwashing facilities also were very basic and consisted of only 2 sinks, which isn't in my opinion enough for a site this large.
I would recommend this site as I don't think you can better the location, with a few small changes it would be perfect.

Have just returned from spending 4 nights. The weather was fabulous and the whole family really enjoyed our stay (2 adults and 3 kids).
When we arrived we were shown to our pitch, there is a strict rule about the spacing between pitches. This meant there was an open feel to the site, pitches are all round the edge so the space in the middle is ideal for kids to play whist still being in view of their parents.
The view and proximity to the beach are definitely what you are paying for at this site.
The beach is 2 min walk and is lovely.
The campsite has security gates with a key fob which means you feel very secure. However the vehicle gates are locked at sunset, being 9.30pm for our visit, so if out after this time your car has to be left outside in the late arrivals area. However this does stop people driving around at night.Felt that any investment has been spent on these gates and less on facilities. The toilets and showers were very clean, in potacabins and were adequate (4 of each in both gents and ladies) but I have seen better. Also very small shower cubicles especially when trying to shower off small children! Apparently there is a family washroom but we never found it but it was hot and sunny so bathed the baby in a washing up bowl!
Reception is based in an old touring caravan and the laundry and pot washing facilities are both in wooden buildings
The owners are very keen on the rules and went through the list of rules on arrival stating several times that we would be asked to leave if the rules were not adhered to. This was slightly off putting, however most of the rules were common sense, like being quiet after 10:30 and driving at 5 mph. We were asked to turn our radio down in the middle of the afternoon when it wasn't very loud anyway.
The main drawback to this site is the lack of any shop, if needing supplies you have to get in the car and drive. There was an icecream and snack hut next to the beach which was open on the day we arrived but closed for the rest of our stay!
All in all we had a great stay and felt like we had been away for longer although some of this was due to the good weather and will probably go back some time.

What a fantastic site! This was our first time camping as a family and we were a bit apprehensive to begin with. Right from the initial contact the team on site were fantastic and made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. The site itself is great - idyllic views over Lligwy Bay, nice, clean facilities (could perhaps do with another sink for pot washing) and a really pleasant atmosphere.
We stayed 3 nights, but it felt longer - for all the right reasons!
I have no doubt we will be going back again before long.

Spent a week at this site and it has to be one of the best sites we have stayed on. Pitches spacious facilities spotless and the site was very well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The no noise after 10.30 is adhered to which was great very peaceful nights. We def go back and would recommend this site.

Just returned from this site and was as described and better, the views out towards the sea were breath taking. I can't recommend this site enough ideal for a family holiday or short break, all the staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived right through to the moment we left.

Well it's our very first time camping, We decided to just book one night so we could do a practise run.
The site was great, clean and tidy with recycling facilities.
As our tent is big (Hartford L) we had to pay extra for a larger pitch, but that didn't bother us.
The toilets and shower block were clean and warm especially at 7am after the cold night we had.
The beach is just on the doorstep with a security gate that requires the key fob you get given when you arrive.(£10 deposit for the key fob)
As we have never camped before we can't compare our stay with anything else, unless you count me on guide camp 25+ years ago.
We do plan to return later this year but stay for more than 1 night as our son wanted to play for longer on the beach and so did our dog. Yes dogs are allowed but on a lead which makes sense and no fouling on site, which I am glad of as our son was bare foot whilst we stayed.
Over all a great site. Here's to more sites like this one.

We were restricted as to which week we could take for our holiday and when I rang the site with my available dates they were not opening until 2 weeks later. However, to our delight, they agreed to open for us! We were, as always, very impressed with the helpfulness of the staff and owners. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The views from the site are jaw dropping, the site is tidy and the toilet and shower facilities are spotless. I would not hesitate to recommend The site to anyone.

2 Adults and 2 kids (4 and 6 years)
From the beginning we felt very well looked after. We were guided to our pitch and told about the safe distance between pitches - 6 metres to be exact. Quite sloping but not a problem in a caravan (remembered the spirit level!).
Security fob is an interesting idea. It is used to enter and leave the site at the top entrance. It also works on a gate which goes into Lligwy beach car park. This was very useful.
We spent one day out - went to Portmeirion. Then spent the next day on site. Wandered down to beach, spent a good while down there with buckets, spades, power kite etc. Then we got chips for tea from Richard the burger van man :) What more could one ask for? Beach close by and chips for tea (sorry I'm off in a little dream now).
Loads of kids staying on the site so our 2 had no trouble making new friends and they all hung around together and shared their toys - it was a very good atmosphere for them.
Site is very well organised, people really do go quiet at about 10.30pm. A lot of rules to follow but all quite sensible and have taken some thought about what makes a good stay at a site. Loos and showers very clean, hair dryer too (very civilised!).
On the last night we had very heavy rain. Next day we watched several large, capable cars have trouble driving up the soggy field and thought best not to chance trying that with a caravan on the back. So the other half went to Reception and asked if they had a tractor. It so happens they did and gave us a tow to the exit of the field where we hitched up no problem.
Would give this place 5 stars if there was a rating system!
