This is fast becoming our favourite site. The wardens are very friendly and sociable. The views are beautiful and the location second to none. There seems to be numerous rules and regulations in place but if you are respectful campers, they are only common sense and it shouldn't deter you from booking.
There is a butcher that visits the site and you able to order from a flier you are given with your welcome pack. Also a daily ice cream van visit early evening. Wifi is available and we found it fine for normal use.
The walk into the local village is a little off putting as there are no footpaths along the road but worth it if you are careful. There is a way in to the village along the coastal path but we did not go that way. The village shop is well stocked and the new fish and chip restaurant is really good, as is the pub, although dogs are not allowed inside the pub.

This is one of our favourite sites. It's set in a remote, beautiful location and the views from our caravan were fabulous even in the coldest of weathers(It dropped to -5 on one night!)
We've been here every year for 5 years and think it's a great place to just sit down and unwind. The people who run this site are very friendly and will help you if you need it when putting your caravan on the pitch.
The toilets and showers are clean and warm, the pot wash shed is fine and there's a hut for local information too, although the people who run the site were great when we asked them for advice. Pitches are large.
The thing which sets this site apart are the views of the golden sands of Lligwy Beach which was a fabulous spot to walk our dog. There's a cabin on the beach selling snacks and drinks whilst the site is right next to the Anglesey coastal path which everyone who visits here should wander along to Moelfre because there's some stunning scenery hidden there.
The site was very clean and there's a strict policy about noise with people being warned that quiet is expected after 10. 30. There's large fields for the kids to run around and play on and it's a secure site which you need a special fob (£20 refundable deposit) to leave and enter. Whenever we've been here in the past there have always been plenty of kids having a good time, although there's no play park etc
Be careful in using your satnav as its' instructions may take you down a very unsuitable narrow track which does eventually lead to the site. The nearest shop and pub are 2 miles away in the village. You have to be off site by 11 am although in quieter times you can pay £11 for an extra few hours.
Overall a beautiful site, in a quiet location which we intend to visit again and again.

Nice spacious site. Overpriced for what it is. We were charged for electric even though we were not going to hook up. 26 pound for two adults and a 7 year old. Or 31 for an extra large pitch ?
I think the extra price is intended to offset the cost of laminating all of the signs telling you what, when and how to go about your daily business. My personal view is that decent people don't need to be reminded. And the rest won't take any notice anyway.
Good location for the beach and for the walk along the coastal path to moelfre.

Just arrived back from a 5 day break from this beautiful site. We really didn't want to leave ! We had great weather, but the site made it a perfect break. The toilets are immaculate, there are plenty of water and waste points and the pitches are very generous with fantastic views of the sea and countryside and literately 2 mins on to the fabulous sandy and clean beech at Ligwy.
Although I understand the rules, especially for dogs, are strict, we did not encounter any problems and welcomed them. We are a couple in our 40's /50's with one well-behaved spaniel and no children so perhaps that's why we had no issues with the site at all.
We would definitely book again !

This is a well-run camp site with strict rules and security via gate entry. Cars cannot be brought back onto site after sunset, so during our stay 8pm was the curfew. Noise is also well managed and the rules seem to be adhered to by everyone.
Great location, friendly staff team and clean toilet facilities.
Local information not up to date, eg chip shop not open; seemed to have been closed for good.
Will suit families due to proximity of beach; walkers due to beach and coastal footpaths and stargazers as little light pollution. This is a wonderful setting and was a wonderful conclusion to our camping in 2012.

This is our second visit and it will not be our last. I know others have commented on the rules but having a 3yr old the rules regarding late/early traffic and site noise is very welcome.
The facilities are perfectly adequate, clean and well maintained. I just wished the shop stocked a few more basics other than milk. The location is fantastic, the beach is 100yrds away and there are plenty of local facilities (shops, pubs, eateries)all within 10mins in the car.
Even when full the site does not feel over-crowded with plenty of space in the centre of each field for the children to play safely.
We love this site and are now looking for other sites that are run in a similar way, anybody got any suggestions?

Oh wow! What a gorgeous, fabulous site even though the weather wasn't great for 3 out of the 6 days! On arrival we were shown to our pitch by a very helpful member of staff as where all staff. The view was amazing from the pitch. Yes there are a lot of rules but they are all common sense. Water taps galore. Waste disposal not far from any pitch. Recycling. Toilets immaculate. The beach totally brilliant. Very clean and right on the doorstep of the site. We only booked for 5 nights but ended up staying another. Really saddend having to come home! The fees were £26 a night (that was with 2 dogs) but worth every penny. If hadnt have booked and paid for another site for August would have definitely gone back. So roll on next year when we can go again!

We have been there 3 times in the past 2 years, enjoyed it every time. We have 2 young children and it is a great place for children and making friends.
All of the rules are common sense and staff helpful. Lligwy beach is adjacent, good during the day and great for sunsets at night.
All facilities in Benllech and Moelfre. A bit limited in the rain, but fantastic in the sun.
Secure, sociable, spotless, well equipped.

We spent a week here during the jubilee and as said below the weather was very mixed. This site is in an ideal location apart from the fact that its far from a large enough supermarket so shop before you go. I would love to see this site/aera in some sunshine.
As for the facilities, yes the loos on the field are portaloo's but they have their own sink and dryer inside they were always clean even during rainy times. If they didn't take your fancy then the main block by reception is not too far from any pitch.
I read the reviews on this site prior to booking and saw complaints about the rules. The rules are not anything to worry about to most, you are told where to pitch and the area is clearly marked, this is for fire safety. The same rules as every site should adhere to. Other rules like no noise after a certain time and clean up after yourself in the shower only make this site better. If you can show respect to the people you are sharing a site with and expect the same back you will love this site. If you want to drink beer until 2am with your music on and leave sand and mud in the shower and be packed in like sardines then I'd book somewhere else.

This was our second visit to Dafarn Rhos and will not be our last. This site is excellent, we have no complaints at all. If your looking for a well organised site Dafarn Rhos comes recommended by my wife & also my Family who have stayed on this site also.
The Owner and the Staff run the site very well and everybody is made welcome. The toilets, showers, grass areas, all looked after well. The View is something you will always remember Excellent.
You may think when making a Booking Site Rules are Strict, they are but its the same for everybody and ensures you will have peaceful nights sleeping, and Site staff always vigilant of what's going which in turn is looking after your safety ensuring every body enjoys themselves. Jan is a wonderful Lady and will always make you welcome. I have Toured for almost Fifty Years and this site I rate very good.
