Me and my family have just returned back from a week away at this BASIC but pleasant site. We stayed in a tent and some pitches are on a slope and it is open to all elements of the weather so when it can be hot and very calm in Molfre or towns near by it can get quite windy on the fields of the camp site. The owners are friendly but strict about their rules
Me personally thought that the rules kept every one in line for eg you can't drive above5 miles, no audible noise out side your unit,no driving around after dark as car lights reflect on tents, no noise at all after 10.30. The showers are basic (porta cabins) and could do with a extra set of showers for the fields further down near the beach. This site is basic and has no play area for kids but the way the pitches are situated there is lots of room for them to play in the middle for football. The attraction that would probably bring me back to this site would be how near it is to the beautiful Molfre beach, and the lovely sea view we got as soon as we got out of our tent but I think I would only come back for a weekend as the washing facilities were certainly not up to a standard other sites I have been to in the past.
There is some lovely coastal walks close by tradour bay is worth a visit right near holyhead a lovely cove with caves for the kids to investigate the views are something you would get abroad it is lovely. Beaumaris castle is worth a visit and so is fowl farm for the kids they get to feed all the farm animals very good value for money. Stay away from the local chippy very greasy and expensive, the jolly fryer is a good one to go to.

On arrival to the site everything seemed nice, and we were offered a pitch, and then it was changed to a different pitch. After being shown the pitch we where expected to put our tent we immediately asked for somewhere else as I felt I may need mountaineering boots to get up the banking. On top of that my car just managed the hill at a struggle and the ground was damp at this point. There was no way I would have gotten my car to that point if it had been raining as it did do during out stay. I was then told that it was our pitch and to leave my car else where, (not on your Nelly was that going to happen). We did eventually get one that someone had not long left we accepted this as we were all tired after the 3 hour drive and just wanted to start our weekend. (this pitch was still on a slope but no where near as bad)
The beach was only a short walk away and is very pretty, with a little shop you can get drinks and ice creams from. The sand is nice and there is plenty to watch with the canoes and jet skis amongst other things going on.
The toilets and showers were clean and adequate but there are number codes Owners comment: Removed end of 2007 on the females. Also if you have children you must make sure your with them when you shower because if there is no adults with them the attendant will no be a happy bunny, as I found where I heard her talking to the boys who where showering (not messing about and they were being responsible)
There is a freezer to put your ice blocks, this is a fridge freezer in a caravan on site which is reception, also there is a charge of 40p. There is 95% electric hook up at the site so if all the non hook ups have gone you still have to pay the extra regardless or not.
Owners comment: It is 20p an item for the Fridge or Freezer

We've just returned from a long weekend here. A nice clean site with ( as other reviewers have said) some 'sloping' pitches. The first pitch we were shown to was very sloping and after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we were put on a level pitch with a bit of a sea view. The toilets and showers (free) are very clean and there are brushes and a mop and bucket to clean up any mess campers make. If visiting this site be prepared to pay the extra 3 quid a night for EHU, even if you don't want it you'll have to pay! As they only have a very few non-EHU pitches. Also you will need Delta pegs or something similar as a lot of the site is very sandy soil and if the wind gets up you'll need something to secure your tent. We had a good few days here, not too far for castle visiting, the lifeboat day in Moelfre was excellent if very wet! We will visit again.
Owners comment: Only one side of one field out of the four fields for the site has very sandy soil.

The view over to LLigwy beach was spectacular. There have been many sightings of birds of prey in the area. We took a walk down to the beach, which was quiet and clean. The location in Angelsey meant we were close to the nearby towns- seemed we were only 10 miles from anywhere. However, this camp site was decidedly average compared to others we have visited with tariffs in the same price range as this. The toilet facilities were below average, being mobile blocks, the type you see at events, as were the shower blocks. The site is a 'no music' camp site. The site was quite hilly. However, the wardens tell you where to pitch up which left no freedom of choice.

Lovely location, nice and quiet, with very friendly staff.
Showers and loos were fine and there are plenty of cold water taps around the site.
Some pitches are on a slight slope (we were informed of this in advance) and I think you can request a sea view, but probably have to book further in advance than we did (the night before).
It's about a mile to the village of Moelfre (small shop, pub and cafe) and approx 5 minutes drive to Benllech, with another lovely beach and shops/pubs etc. I'd definitely return to this campsite.

Stayed here for 3 nights at Easter which is the first weekend they are open. We had great weather and loved the site. But our preferences are for sites with limited facilities and a great location and this one has both of these! But I understand that the showers have now been upgraded so that will be a great improvement. Not that I could complain about the old ones, they were clean and functional portacabins. We loved the access to the beach, it really is just a moment away through a gate and the beach car park where there is a handy ice cream shop too. The beach is sandy with rock pools around the edge - kids loved it. There is no play area on site, just a huge central area where no-one is allowed to pitch, oru kids played ball, cricket and frisbee so weren't bothered at all. The site is on a slight slope but we found our pitch to be level enough for our trailer tent. There seemed to be plenty of hook up points although there was a problem with the generator when we visited. Owners comment: Generator was temporary for a April/May 2007 All in all a great site - would visit again.

Visited over bank holiday weekend and had a fantastic break the site is lovely. Clean well maintained and not over filled with the site owners respecting the 6 metre rule and the pitches set out around the edge of the field giving plenty of room in the field centres to let kids play.
The toilet and shower blocks are new this season decent electric showers and a dedicated disabled facility/family bathroom. Be prepared to separate and recycle your waste, Richard and Liz the site owners are passionate about recycling, which in my opinion is no bad thing!
All in all a great site and one I'd highly recommend.

We visited the site over the bank holiday 23/05/07. We stayed in a Tent, 4 adults. The site is very well maintained. The new toilet and shower block are immaculately clean and well maintained. The pitch did have a slope, but it's Wales.
The beach is within a 1 minute walk. Sandy beach with sand banks, ideal to let the kids can run wild. shallow sea, which is ideal for kite surfing, diving and sea sports. Coastal walks are well sign posted. But are not easily accessible for people with prams or wheelchair users. The chip shop in the main town is pants greasy chips not very tasty. Visited the ship inn pub at red wharf bay, be warned the drinks are expensive.beer is £2.50 per pint. 2 and half pints lager + small coke £8.20 .
The site does have a "no radio" policy which is strictly enforced by the owner. This allows you to have a peaceful stay and is for the benefit of all. There is no children's play area, the site does not need one there is a beautiful beech.
This site is one that I have already recommended to friends and will be visiting again in the near future.

Just returned, walk across the field open the gate 50 yds and you're on the beach. Toilets cleaned regularly 3 showers in mens 3 in womens and a satillite toilet/shower unit out on the site. Plenty of space for the kids to play, short drive into Moelfre, where you will find pub, chippie and a bakery
The owners were very helpful and always available if you have any queries. No probs with the hook-ups plenty of space between pitches as they insist on the 6metre rule, even though the site was quite full no probs with toilets or showers. We've already booked to return in 6 weeks so it must be alright
