I liked this site. The big plus is the location, quiet and bang on the coastal path at a large sandy beach. It was also well laid out and the facilities clean and in good order with the additional bonus of good security. It seemed to me that a lot of thought has gone into its development. A special mention goes to the friendly and helpful reception staff. Other reviewers say the 'do/don't' signs are excessive, I didn't think so, no more than on other sites. More than this - they are not just empty words - how splendid to read someone's complaint about being told off for making too much noise!

The location of this site is stunning. It overlooks Lligwy Bay and there is direct access to a very beautiful beach.
The site itself is well organised, well maintained and facilities are very clean. Not having been to the site before, I requested a quiet, nicely situated pitch and was delighted that the lady I spoke to had taken the trouble to grant my request and given me one of the best pitches. The view was amazing.
Coastal walks from the site in both directions are a joy. The walk into Moelfre is scenic and one in the opposite direction towards Dulas led us to two gorgeous beaches which were practically uninhabited. Another walk from the site took us to the remains of a Romano British camp, which was really interesting and further up the road from this, a Neolithic burial site. Fish and chips in Moelfre is to be recommended and the Kinmel Arms is fine for a drink if you don't want to drive. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

This is a lovely, peaceful site, with friendly staff and great views.
The toilet block was nice and clean with good showers, however there were only 3 toilets and 5 showers, so I am unsure how it would be if the site was full, as I did not see any other permanent blocks on site. As we went after summer holidays all was fine!
The beach is two minutes walk and lovely, and the nearby town of Molrafe is lovely, with a great chippy, cafe and pub. We walked back along the cliffs, which took a while but was beautiful.
I get the impression there were a lot of enforced rules during the busy season, but I think it is a case of the minority spoiling it for everyone else and taking advantage. However we did find that not being allowed to drive onto site after dusk restrictive - as we stayed in September the gates were locked at 7:45pm and we were keeping bikes in the back of our car, which we had to unload if we stayed out late. There was a secure car park to park in, we just wanted to keep a closer eye on our bikes. Just a bit later would have helped!

Very peaceful, secure campsite with gated key-fob access to site and from site to beach. 100 yards only to the beautiful, large sandy beach which is very safe for bathing as long as you take care with offshore winds. Campsite consists of three fields which are clean, well maintained and not sandy! Don't be put off by the list of dos and don'ts - they work to make this a very comfortable and peaceful place to stay. Wifi is fine for emailing and browsing. Facilities are well-maintained and clean and electrical hook-ups and water taps are shared between two units on the top field. Outstanding views and easy access to coastal path.

Just back from a wonderful weekend in Anglesey. Our stay was made better by a clean, friendly, peaceful and secure campsite. The toilet and shower blocks are spotless with plenty of free hot water and the site rules shouldn't deter those with respect for others. Another plus is that Dafarn Rhos is situated immediately next to one of the best sandy beaches on Anglesey.
Moelfre is a 10 min walk away via road or coastal walk. There's a village store / bakery, a fish & chip shop, cafe/restaurant and village pub which offer homemade food. Apart from the fish & chips we didn't eat in Moelfre so can't comment on the food quality at the other eateries but both were busy and the menus looked good.
Red Wharf Bay is worth a visit. We ate at the Boathouse which was excellent and reasonably priced and The Ship Inn also offered a great menu and real ale. All in all we were won over and will return.

We only got back from Dafarn Rhos in Moelfre Anglesey a few hours ago and was so impressed with our first visit we wanted to post a review straight away. We found the site using the UKCampsite.co.uk web site and rang only last week to see if there was any availability for the weekend. Although the site was virtually full because it was lifeboat day at Moelfre(which was brill by the way). The site manager, was lovely and managed to fit us in. I had a broken foot and Jan positioned us not to far from the facilities and provided me with access to the disabled bathroom which was excellent. Other reviews rave about the views from the site and its cleanliness which we would reiterate but for us the exceptional customer services was a tribute to the site management. We will definitely return before the end of this season

This is the third time on this site. Our three grandchildren think this site is the best ever, we also like it. The wardens are fantastic and the site itself is just a few yards from the beach. If you are looking for a site that is friendly, children accepted, with a very large beach and lots of walks, this is it. Only downside is it rains a lot on angelsey, but even then its a great place to be. Our caravan will be back next year

A superbly located site only yards away from a big uncrowded sandy beach. We were met and shown to our pitch by one of the friendly helpful staff. There were strict rules regarding noise and dogs etc but on a large site like this the rules were necessary for everyone's enjoyment and we found them not intrusive and contributing to a very enjoyable stay. The site felt
Secure with a pass needed to access the gates. Possibly needs more showers and loos but we used our own. Plenty of shops and facilities in nearby Benllech and lots of places to visit within easy reach.

Just got back from our first visit to this site - would we go again? You bet we would.
Just a couple of things to note. Ignore the satnav and follow the directions on the website (we printed off a copy to take with us) and don't be put off by the rules & regulations.
We found the site without any problems. Booking in was very swift, very professional and very friendly. We were shown to our pitch and told where to site the caravan, which was very helpful. We didn't have children so we were pitched in the adult only section, the main field. Our pitch was quite large with nothing but views of the beach in front of us. The facilities were good, always clean and we never had to queue. TV reception was good as was mobile phone reception.
We did have a small dog and I was aware of how strict the site is when it comes to animals but we had no problems. We think the rules were common sense and if you are a respectful camper showing consideration to others, then you will not have a problem. Some rules were broken (we saw dogs off leads but they were under control and we saw washing lines which were hidden behind units) but we didn't see anybody frogged marched off the site and told never to return!
We walked on the coastal path, in both directions. The path to Moelfre was very picturesque; the path to Dulas lead to a fantastic private beach only accessible by foot. It was paradise. We were blessed with great weather every day and didn't want the week to end. We had such an amazing time that I am thinking of booking for next year.

It says write a full review starting with toilets, good place to start. We camped on the 'beach field' with two porter loos to service two large fields of campers, did get pretty smelly would not have been happy if we had been pitch close to them but the alternative was take a long walk up hill, keep fit, to the posh loos at the top of the site (still full of spiders in the windows) and still only 3 or 4 of then in the women's, don't know about the men's didn't check.
Play ground next - isn't one, infact there isn't any focus for the kids just other kids, all it would take to help them make friends is maybe a rope swing anything, but in this sterile environment of rules and regs I'm sure anything for the kids would be far to risky for the h&s.
The surrounding area. Yes is a car park, as I mentioned we were in the beach field, beware although closest to the beach there is no beach view from this field, admittedly the weather was good so we had no need for the wind break hedges but never the less there is a car park the other side, which was extremely busy during the school hols, no way could you send your kids off to the beach in front, also people could stay overnight on the car park (that's maybe why they have such strict security on the camp site ? )
The beach is beautiful but during bank holiday we could literally not find a spot to get settled it was that busy.
'My husband and I' plus two boys 10 and 5 did not find this site any fun, yes it's well kept but the clanging metal gates and security cameras somehow spoilt the whole thing, and truth be told we were also charged for electricity when we do not use it which is unfair and unreasonable. If you are looking for a relaxed camping experience think twice before booking here, try it for a weekend, see if its for you because I spoke to a lot of campers and they did not like or could over look the patronising endless instructions and notices.
