Second visit to Hemsby tent and touring at Long Beach and still impressed by this well run and tidy campsite. As has been said before, the couple who run it are friendly and helpful but they are also very professional and handled our slight niggle about noisy neighbours very tactfully and effectively. We stayed for a week in a large tent and were found a fantastic pitch, hedge behind us and acres of space. One word of warning - bring rock pegs, we hit some hard ground in places.
Due to our late booking we went non-electric for the first time in a few years and have no regrets - partly due to the fabulous weather but also because there are plenty of plug points in shower block and ironing room to charge up phones etc. The freezers for ice blocks are the first I've come across that actually work! The showers are immaculate and very hot, even during peek flow. Yes, the loo cabins on the circus field only have cold water, but they serve as a useful emergency pit stop and the walk to the main block is not that far. The washing up area is covered and a pleasant environment. In fact whoever designed the shower/washing up/ironing area deserves an award.
Down the road at the site pub we were made very welcome and served some decent typical pub grub. The shop leaves a bit to be desired - very pricey and poorly stocked - but the local Spar is only 2 minutes by car.
As for Hemsby itself, in the words of a German couple we met 'it really is unique'. A mini Yarmouth with arcades, rides, cheap shops and donut/ice cream stalls. But it is endearing and friendly and brilliant fun for the kids. The beach is gorgeous; long and sandy for as far as you can see with high dunes behind it. It is, however, sadly under attack from the sea and shrinking rapidly without the protection of any sea defences and so there is a vigorous local campaign to raise money and awareness.
The last word has to go to the 2 Way Cafe on Beach Road; it looks like any other seaside cafe on the outside with the usual all day breakfast and fish n chip fare but the food is lovingly prepared and the service is delightful so don't assume the worst and do try the lamb chops.
A great week.

First time camping and not disappointed. Showers and toilets very clean and spacious. Facilities for freezing ice packs were helpful. Wardens were friendly and approachable
Used the bar a few time and the children's play area next to it kept the kids entertained.
Well lit field which meant the kids could play football to their Hearts content in the evenings.
A play area in the middle of the field would have made it even better as during the evening the park was too far away so the kids had to amuse themselves.

The good thing going for this site is the location. Hemsby is a nice little town with some nice little shops. We stayed in the main field at the Hemsby site.
We did not like the site. We were informed dogs cannot be walked on the field and there are no dog bins except if you go out of the site. We were told we were seen not picking up our dog mess, but my dog had dioreah so I had to use water to wash this away. I found the attitudes of the staff somewhat lacking.
Showers were cold on all occasions we used them and the waste waster runs along the back of the showers. This is a problem because the way the shower head is angled you almost have to stand in other people's dirty waste water when showering. Water also dribbled out from them meaning washing my long thick hair was impossible.
The pitches are not marked out and is not clear where your pitch starts/ends. Out pitch was sloping but not too much and the grass was short.
The site was expensive, £32. 50 for 2 adults, 2 dogs, tent with EHU and a child. Dogs are charged at £3. 50 per night each which the most expensive site for dogs we have ever seen/been too.
We left early and will not be returning.

As a family of three adults we stayed on this site for a week, it was a lovely site. Had a good space for tent and car. The shower and toilet blocks kept very clean by wardens day and night and always hot water. When ever showered at all times of days. Grass kept short. As wardens moved it regular. Only draw back is do not pick up moved grass. So tent carpet full of grass. Would definitely use site again. Paid for broadband which at 15 pounds for seven days was very expensive. And it was very slow. Maybe wont use that again. The site states easy access to beach. But fail to mention that you have to go over large and steep sand dune. Not suitable for wheelchair or pushcahir use. But if go into the town on footpath is only 10/15 minutes walk. Only drawback when walking to town, is the road go down is a lane so can get busy. And if go out at night take a torch for when returning. As no street lighting. Also not much evening enterainment (if want that )but all holiday camp sites in hemsby offered free entertainment. We went into the belle aire one. On two occasions. Children welcome.

We stayed on the Hemsby Touring and Tent site which is part of the same little group of sites all gathered together. I called ahead to make sure there was no issue with arriving a little later and they said it would all be fine. We arrived at 20:30 and we were directed to our pitch by the warden who was very friendly, not long after we arrived at our pitch the wardens visited and advised the best direction to pitch for the sun.
The site was pretty busy but there was plenty of space between pitches. There was a sand pit but no play area in the field (the play area was with the shop and club a small walk away).
Toilet and shower block was lovely and kept clean through out our stay.
All in all a very enjoyable stay and we are already planning to go back for longer.

We were looking for somewhere to both explore the area and also relax with the dog. What a terrific place. We received a lovely welcome on arrival and had a great pitch. Toilets and showers were great. Then it got better - for dog owners the site is amazing. A beach and sand dunes to die for - and if you walk along the beach to Winterton (30 mins isn) you come to a great beach side cafe that does wonderful bacon butties - and all ready for the walk back. Cant rate it high enough and will def go back soon for a longer stay. Oh - it had site wifi which worked well - but the mobile signal was great so we didn't need to get a wifi voucher.

We wanted somewhere fairly near to where we live for a weekend getaway to try out the new tent. From the reviews we decided on Longbeach and it was a good choice. Arrived about 5.30 on the Friday evening and were directed to our large pitch by the friendly receptionist. After pitching our tent we decided to try the Dolphin pub on site. There was a good variety of drinks and spoilt for choice with food. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. The site was peaceful and clean with a small touring area and mainly statics. There were a couple of play areas and the beach was about 5 minutes walk away. Hemsby was also about 5 minutes away. The showers and toilet blocks were spotless. The only very minor gripe was the showers were the push button type and only stayed on for about 30 seconds meaning I had to shower while holding the button down which was a bit awkward. All in all an excellent chioce and would definitely go again.

Me and my family have visited the grange touring park several times, last year we made 4 visits.
It is a very clean, friendly, and happy site.
The site wardens are great and very helpful.
The toilet and shower block are very very clean and tidy.
There is a small play area, but next door is a pub/restaurant with a play area as well.
5 mins walk there is a fish and chip shop, and an Chinese and the centurion restaurant, which I would certainly recommend for good food and value for money.
The beach is only a 10 minute walk from the site, and a small shop is 3 minutes from the beach.
The beach is a mix of sand and stone, and you can sometimes catch seals swimming just off.
Hemsby and yarmouth are close by, caister is a 5 minute drive away, all the shops you need are there. The grange is a nice place to stay.
Its close enough to everything, but far enough away for a bit off peace.

Just back from last minute decision to get to the coast for the bank holiday weekend. Called up @ 7pm Friday evening and really friendly advising that plenty of space and to just turn up Saturday morning.
All we wanted was to be near the coast, and somewhere to walk the dogs off lead, and with somewhere to eat/drink in the evening.
Arrived and cannot speak highly enough of the couple on reception and even guided us to the pitch, in a sheltered but sunny position.
Toilet/Shower blocks were regularly cleaned and were spotless, and pleased to see free showers as we hate the token types.
Location cannot be bettered in Hemsby, and enough distance away from the rather tacky town centre.
Fantastic weather helped, with a short walk through the site, straight to the dunes and then onto dog friendly beach.
Lovely walk on beach to Winterton cafe, and back through the 'valley', a good way to spend a few hours.
Thought we would get a drink and eat Saturday evening in Hemsby village, but after a beer at Lacons Arms where we were served cloudy beer we went back to the campsite bar/club, and were not expecting much by that point.
Walked in, and before we even could ask if we could take the dogs in, they actually asked us to bring them in. Had a good range of beers and menu looked good and excellent value.
Steak & Ale pie with chips, and ham/egg/chips, what can we say, absolutely fantastic, good food, and even better about £12 for both meals. The music/entertainment we feared, but when he kicked off he was also good, not too loud/good mix of music.
Walked out of there with a completely different opinion of our choice of destination.
Seems a family run site and this shows with excellent attitude right across the site, when we went back the Sunday to eat they even remembered what drinks we had the night before.
Cannot fault the site at all, really recommend

Initially booked Long Beach for a weeks stay. On arrival staff very helpful and friendly. Long Beach site is very nice with a play area. As we didn't have any children with us decided to stay at their Hemsby site. Toilets and showers were immaculate. Pitch was a good size. Wardens very helpful and patrolled regularly. It was ideal for my husband and myself. A short walk to the bar shop and launderette. Bar staff very friendly. From the entrance to the site you can see the sea and it's only about a 5 minute walk. A very beautiful beach. Hemsby is ideal for families with children. A sort of old fashioned seaside town with plenty of cafes a pub and amusements. We had a brilliant week and would definitely return to this site. Apparently the Hemsby Site is only usually open during school holidays which is a shame because we don't usually take our holidays during this time and it's an ideal place for us. I believe the Long Beach site is open until the end of Sept though. As there had been enquiries the site stayed opened longer than usual so we were ok. Hope they do this again because we would definitely return. If not we'll just have to take the grandchildren.
