We booked Hemsby touring site over the phone at short notice for August bank holiday having only looked at the site on the internet. On arrival we were shown to our pich, ( Number 8) this easily accommodated our 8 metre van although we were on a hill I was able to level out ok, awning up, and loads of space for our car the site is quiet with just the noise from kids playing, nice and quiet at night
Loads of things to do and see a visit to potter heigham is worth going to for the kids there's the fun fair just a short walk away as is the beach
The staff are great always happy to help the showers are always clean as are the toilets, there are supermarkets in caster and a spar at the end of the road, some great pub grub around also
Would we come again, YES we and have booked already

We stay in Hemsby tent and touring at least once a year, however this year there have been major differences. Firstly due to certain reasons including a dog hating dog and the need for a little more space we always chose to stay in the 'circus' field but the field was closing the day after we arrived so we were unable to stay there, however Jane and Dave could not have been more accommodating and we were given an almost perfect pitch in the field with the shower block.
Secondly in the early hours of Friday I was taken ill and had to call an ambulance, Jane came straight over to make sure everything was OK and was very concerned. I was admitted into hospital and they have bent over backwards to help any way they can, going over to see my husband on a daily basis to check on things.
All that on top of keeping the site neat and tidy we certainly would recommend this site an will be back next year. Thank you!

Just returned from Long Beach. Bank holiday weekend and it was busy. We were greeted in reception by Dave and he couldn't of been nicer. He gave us a map, showed us where we were and where to go. Then showed us to a pitch by the portaloos asked if we were happy and we said we'd like a pitch a bit more private. No problems. Showed us to the top of the field and we had a fantastic pitch by some trees. Yes we had neighbours close to but no bother. The ground was really hard (no problems getting our pegs in)and dry but flat.
The portaloos are just that. The amount of people using them they weren't that bad I've seen worse in non peak times. They are cleaned and restocked regularly. There are water points here too.
The main shower blocks in the main field were brilliant. Yes the showers are close to the wall but the cubicles are huge and the water was hot. And it was clean. These are the best we have used. They had a laundry which we didn't use and barbecues to hire.
The location is brilliant too. 5 minutes walk to the beach. 15 minute drive to Great Yarmouth and 40 minutes to Norwich.
It is a lovely family site. Kids playing, cycling. Just enjoying being in the fresh air and it's safe. We didn't go to the dolphin bar but most people did and they seemed happy.
Tuesday's there are fireworks in Great Yarmouth which you can see on the site!
For the price, the position and the good weather we had a fantastic time here.

This is my 5th visit to this site and won't be my last either. We stayed as a party of 3 families at the Hemsby tenting and touring site. Pitches were large, flat and well kept and we had plenty of space to arrange ourselves. The site never feels overcrowded and this was bank holiday weekend. We stayed in the rally field which does have temp toilets but these are fine for what you need them for (next year there should be a permanent facility which will be my much better). The main block in the other field is always immaculately kept. There are queues for them shower if you don't get there early enough but this is the same for all sites. Staff on the site are always friendly and helpful. What we really like about this site is its proximity to the local area. 10 min walk to a stunning stretch of sand which is dog friendly and at low tide the kids love the pools, the dolphin bar at the long beach site is also good for a drink and food. And hemsby arcades is also a 15 min walk. We will def return and always recommend this site. Thanks for a great weekend with great weather.

Great site with spacious pitches. Staff really friendly and accommodating. Would benefit a small shop for essentials but nearest big shop is only a stones throw from the site. Showers could do with an extra bit of water pressure but that's not really a holiday breaker. Definitely on my use again list.

This is really two sites - Long Beach Static Caravan Park and Hemsby Camping & Touring. We stayed on the Hemsby Camping and Touring part which is an immaculate site, where the friendly and helpful wardens worked hard to make sure it stayed that way.
Level, reasonably priced pitches, spotless toilet and shower facilities (with separate accessible shower and toilets), electric hook-up, free fridge and freezer space and several drinking water points, made for easy camping. Shower and toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and well throughout the day. Hot showers were free and plentiful (although the hot water pressure is not very high. )
A busy, family friendly site with a sandpit and space for children to play. Emplacements were not particularly large - with tents and caravans pitched alongside each other; the access road runs behind some pitches and the 11pm - 7am 'quiet time' was not rigorously enforced, so this was not a quiet site. WiFi was available but very patchy and could only be used on one appliance at a time.
The beach, a pub (with nightly entertainment and serving decent pub food) and several small shops (one with a free ATM) were all within easy walking distance and the ice cream van called on site at least once a day. The nearest train station and 2 major supermarkets are 7 miles away in Great Yarmouth. There is a good family restaurant about 10 minutes drive from the campsite and an excellent award winning restaurant about 15 minutes away at Fleggburgh.
We had a fabulous holiday and would certainly stay here again.

Perfect little site.
Limited facilitates but all a good clean standard
Very friendly helpful staff.
I took my grandkids and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Close to the beach and bar and near enough to the arcades and fair for the kids if the whether turns bad.
Close the Great Yarmouth and all the usual attractions
We will definitely return
Many thanks Wendy and team you made it very easy thankyou.

Visited Long Beach at the beginning of August and hit probably the only good week of weather this year, absolutely glorious which no doubt helps to make holidays enjoyable in this country. That said from the moment we arrived we were looked after by the wardens like old friends. This is not our first visit to Long Beach we normally visit at least once a year but this was our first year with the two wardens currently on site. They are a really nice couple and took great pains to make our stay a happy one. The site itself is always clean and tidy and the toilet block, which is spacious and has a good number of showers and toilets, is immaculate and even though this was one of their busiest weeks the toilet block was always clean and tidy with Radio Two playing in the background, a nice touch. The site is split across two fields and all pitches are spacious with hook ups on most of them.
Evening entertainment is at the nearby Dolphin Club, on site, which boasts a good selection of beers and other drinks and is open all day and does nice pub grub food until 9:00. There is a small amusement section to keep the kids quite and a host of pool tables and a snooker table. The staff here are just as friendly and helpful as the wardens and the place whilst a little dated is clean and comfortable. The standard of entertainment varies quite a bit throughout the week. Our highlight was a duet called Glam X who play Glam rock music from the 70's-80's and are great.
From the campsite there is a short stroll to one of the best kept secret beaches we know of. You have to climb a steep sand dune but the effort is worth it for the soft sand and seclusion. You can walk about a 1/4 mile along the beach to Hemsby itself or you can also reach the town along the road from the campsite. Hemsby is a lovely small seaside town boasting all you expect to find in a seaside resort. It sort of got to 1980 and stopped there which is fine by us. There is a nice pub which does really good food, amusement arcades, cockle stall, bingo and a host of good eateries. North along the coast you can watch seals in their natural environment and 10 minutes South is Great Yarmouth. What more could you want?
We have a tourer and took a tipi tent, there were 8-9 of us of all ages and all of us had a great time and will no doubt be returning again next year. The only downside of the holiday was a noisy family who seemed unable to talk to each other at a normal volume but that was not the fault of the site, nor the children. Loud music is not tolerated and kept under control by the ever vigilant warden and anti social behaviour, of which there was only a very small incident about toilet rolls and kids is dealt with quickly and discreetly but it is dealt with and those responsible asked to leave which I think is just what you would want to make you feel secure and able to relax and enjoy your holiday, which is what we did in spades!

We are novice campers and his was our 1st time at a proper camp site! Previously to that, we had only pitched our tent up in our back garden!
We wanted to try out camping out a 'proper site' that wasn't too far away from home for just the one night to see how the family all got on (the family consists of myself, the wife, our 8 year old daughter and our dog)
On arrival at the camp site, we were greeted by one of the wardens, who was very helpful and provided us pack on the camp and after a few teething problems with the card machine and payment was made we were shown to our pitch (no. 7) and was very pleased with this as it was very spacious and had plenty of room for the car, the tent and our awning! The camp was very clean, well-kept and secure.
Being a bit naïve, I didn’t realise the electric points all were the 16A 3 pin type and I had just bought along a ‘normal’ extension cable – however this didn’t stop us having a good time and a short visit to B&Q in Yarmouth to get a foot pump for the airbed (sadly they didn’t stock the 16A cable type) – but we got back and had an enjoyable evening, before settling in for the night.
The following morning, we all paid a visit to the very clean toilet / shower facilities which were on-site – I believe these were fully re-furbished in 2007 and kept to a very high standard.
The camp site is ideally placed for exploring the coast / beaches around Norfolk / Suffolk. After cooking bacon rolls for us all on the portable gas stove, and packing up the tent we were ready for a day on the beach! Unfortunately due to it being peak season some beaches don’t allow dogs, so we didn’t get to go on the beach at Hemsby, but ventured a few miles further up the coast to Scratby beach.
Very pleasantly surprised to find that you could park very close to the beach, in the allocated car park (with toilet facilities) and there was no car parking charges!
Had a very enjoyable day on the beach, and would definitely recommend it for a family (especially if you have a dog that enjoys the sea etc. )
Already thinking of booking up again for a long weekend with some friends who camping quite a bit!
