We stopped at the Hemsby site which is quite a large site with two fields.
The warden showed us to our pitch, we stopped on an EHU pitch, on the quieter area of the site.
The main facilities are on the main field with a portacabin on the second field with toilets in it.
As this was school holidays the portacabin was always busy and soon ran out of stocks!
The main facilities were much better very clean and looked fairly new.
You may have to wait for showers at peak times but they were nice showers.
There is also washing up facilities and even an ironing room. You can rent an iron for a small price with the money going to charity.
We walked passed the Longbeach site which looked like it had more statics and a few touring and tent pitches. There is a club house on that site which looked fairly busy.
The beach has sand which is just like children's play sand.

Booked at last minute, was able to pitch as soon as we got to site approx 8.45 am, was shown to pitch,
the site has 2 fields but only 1 shower block, doesn't seem enough in the height of season but was ample for this weekend, the showers, toilets, washing up facilities were spotless with back ground music all the time, they had child seats and tables fixed to walls, steps for kids to use, only prob was not quite enough pressure from the showers but they were lovely and hot and free.
Pitch was patrolled regularly, there is access to the beach but isn't suitable for disabled people, you will have to go to hemsby which is just a 10 min walk and is very pleasant with arcades, shops, pubs and restaurants
An ice cream van came around the field.
The site shop doesn't open until 7.45 but there are shops within a 10 min walk
We would definitely return

We booked this site about 10 days before the Whitsun Holiday for three nights camping. From the moment I first called to enquire the staff were more than helpful. As we were travelling down on Friday evening we arrived at about 8.15pm. We were directed to the tent site and escorted to our Pitch by a lovely gentleman.
The kids (9&4) had a great time. As we were only there for three days we didn't use the shop. The showers were always clean, hot and available. The toilets were also very clean and never without loo roll.
I was prepared for there not to be any hand wash liquid byt there was three or four bottles in the hand wash area. The dish washing area and drinking water point were also located witht he showers and toilets in easy reach of the whole site.
All in all we had a great time - just wish that we had stayed longer. We would definitely go back to this site.

First time at this site came for the Easter weekend. Very friendly welcome, shown to our pitch which was near to the shower block. Had plenty of room the pitches all seemed spacious. The shower and toilet block was very impressive. Kept very clean day and night, plenty of toilet roll, hot water and some nice background music! The showers were a bit close to the wall but they certainly did the job. Notices were up not to let your children play in them. Shame some of the other campers didn't pay any attention to that as their kids had great fun having water gun fights in there! The play park shown in the picture is not near to this field so all the children had to do was play in a sandpit. We didn't try the bar so cannot comment.
The walk to the beach was very nice about a 20 minute stroll. Would definitely recommend this site and we would definitely return some time soon.

What a fantastic camp site! Staff are really friendly. Site lovely and peaceful - very close to the sea. We had a resident fox, who was very friendly - lots of wildlife - birds twittering on a morning.
The showers were lovely and hot, and free. They are the sort that you have to keep pressing in and you had to press them around 6 times before the hot water came through - but once through it was piping hot - lovely. Bin bags are provided. Keys for the toilets are a refundable deposit.
The food in the Dolphin Bar was really good and affordable. Had a great time all in all and can't wait to go back. Very clean site as well and they aren't mean with the pitches. There were a few caravans near us that took up twice as many pitches and nobody said anything - very relaxed atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough.

Just had a skim on the reviews. Like 'Skinnyjakki' we've been coming for some years. Surprised to see their report. We had a nice time as usual last year. Spoke to the warden today to book for Easter.
The area with the mobile toilets is what they use as a rally field, open as well for anyone else who chooses to be there if they want instead of the main field (at least that's what has always happened to us.) It's a bit further away from the main facilities (which are first class) but presumably provided just to cut down the walk for a late night leak!
Always been enough space for ball games. It rained a lot of course last year and we all know that August Bank Holiday is the busiest time: all grass sites would have become muddy in parts. Not a lot can be done about that.
There is a charge for dogs but it's no more than for extra persons where there are more than four (and there's no charge for under five year olds). We've not found this to be an expensive site - more the reverse.

We stayed in August for 16 nights (2 adults, 2 teenage boys) on the main field near the toilet block. These were kept very clean daily but the showers were too close to the wall so hardly wet you at all, although they were very hot.
The warden s were very friendly and helpful if you needed them. The beach is a short walk and is lovely, good exercise for your thighs climbing over the huge sand dune! Can't comment on the shop as didn't use it.
The Dolphin bar is ok if you are a regular, as many people appeared to be, if not it wasn't very welcoming at all. We went about 13 nights out of 16 and never got a friendly hello or a smile. Nothing for teenagers to do apart from play pool with young children. We enjoyed our stay but won't be returning as weren't enough facilities for teenagers.

We visited this campsite for the third year for the August Bank Holiday weekend. The location of the site is good for the beach and local amenities.
When we visited the first time we were shown the new shower block including washing up area in the main field, this is very clean and ample facilities for this field. However, we chose to stay in the 'Circus field' where there was a portable cabin with toilets and hand basins. These were ok the first year we went but are now in need of updating. The doors didn't lock and there is no hot water. There is hardstanding so it would seem an obvious progression to build a small permanent toilet block and washing up area on this field as all the services appear to be there.
With no track or path on this field the ground was churned up very quickly and by the end of the weekend was a mud bath.
We also found it difficult to accept the cost for a dog was more than the cost for an additional child as the dogs do not us any of the facilities - the cost per dog is the dearest we have ever come across in the 8 years of camping.
On the plus side the staff have always been friendly and helpful and the main site toilets are always kept clean.
This site would greatly improve with a small amount of investment.
There seems to be an issue with people driving from the circus field to the main site to use the facilities (although we didn't). It is understandable due to the state of the portable cabin facilities.
Let's hope there are some positive improvements in the future.

Our first time at this site and we really enjoyed it. We stayed on the main field close to the showers and toilets.
The ground was incredibly stony and hard and we went through so many pegs and broke plastic D rings when trying to extract them.
The showers and toilets were very clean but did have to wait for the showers in the mornings. We pitched quite close to the toilets which was a bit of a mistake as people from the top field would often drive there early in the morning so traffic would wake you up.
We did come across quite a bit of dog poo on both our field and the road leading up to the site, which isn't the site owner's fault but the filthy dog owners' who don't clean up after their dogs.
The staff were very friendly and didn't mind our two boys very frequently visiting them in their office. Can't comment on the the bar as we never went there, but the shop was well stocked and reasonably priced.

We have just returned from 7 nights at Long Beach, (Staying on the Hemsby Fields) and are overall very impressed with the site. We went in a tent with no hook up, my partner and 2 children.
General overview
A clean well kept site, toilets are very well kept, pitches are all flat and have good drainage, noise wasn't too bad, a couple of inconsiderate campers, but this always seemed to be dealt with.
Welcome
We were welcomed with a pack of information on the local area, the pricing was extremely good, £90.00 for 7 nights no electric. We were shown to our pitch by a nice man on an bike, who gave us a choice of where to pitch.
The pitch
The pitch was flat and stone free, plenty of space and lots of space for the kids to play, this is different on the main site where there is not much space in comparison.
On our field there was a portacabin with toilets and cold running water for those late night emergencies although the main block was a 2 minute walk away.
Showers and Toilets.
The new shower and toilet block was extremely nice, always clean, tidy and warm, plenty of hot water and toilet roll, cleaned at least three to four times a day, no queues for the toilets, the ladies showers get busy during peak times, but the wait was never more than 10 minutes.
Park
The park was very nice, clean and well suited for younger children.
Clubhouse
Clean, reasonable prices, friendly staff, serves food, although we didn't eat, there is karaoke on most nights and entertainment arranged on others.
Shop
Reasonably priced compared with the Seadell shops on the main road(Stay away they are well overpriced)
Hemsby
The park is a ten minute walk from the beach, and amusements, here there is a main drag with various amusements, prize bingo and food outlets, We ate at the Hollywood Bowl and found their food to be very nice.
The beach is really lovely, sandy and clean, with lifeguard station for added safety.
Overall
We shall be returning next year, we had a fantastic camping holiday and didn't want to come home. Maybe next year someone can arrange the weather to be a bit warmer.
