Very friendly staff and showers and toilets were very clean

As we went low season there was plenty of room

A bit surprised that you have to pay extra to put up a small awning

We have been here before and every time we come its always as good as the last time.

The site has 2 fields which are to the left and right of the main entrance road. We are usually sited on the left field but this time it was very busy so we were given a space in the right field.

Both fields have their own toilet and shower blocks and if I had to choose which field I liked best I would have to say the left field as the right field does get a bit noisy after hours as its further away from the reception so unless the warden does a round it goes un noticed unless you report it.

Having said this both fields are pleasant and the facilities are regularly cleaned. The park also has two sister parks which is the Long Beach Caravan park next door and The Grange at nearby Caister.

The park is just a few minutes walk from Hemsby where you will find Amusements, Pub and food etc. The smaller village of Newport is a little walk.

There is a bus stop just on the main road near the Co-OP where you can catch a bus into Great Yarmouth and the prices are reasonable so will save you money on car parking.

The Norfolk coast path runs through Hemsby so you can walk to Yarmouth via Caister if you are feeling athletic!

To summarise its a very nice site which is near to all you need for a weekend or longer stay.

It was our first time in Norfolk. We were very charmed by the beautiful villages, quiet long endless beaches and most importantly, not being ripped off in pubs and restaurants. Kids loved their visit to the pleasure park in Great Yarmouth ( £13PP).

We had a wonderful stay at the camp site. We visited with friends and had two private plots together with hook up.

The beach is a few minutes walk over the dunes. We loved being able to walk our dog on the beach each morning and the teenage kids took themselves off to the beach while we had a cheeky drink in the bar. There's a well stocked shop on site and a fantastic bakers in Hemsby (get there early for your crossaints and cream cakes!)

The site is big with a playground for younger kids. There are several private camping plots close to the beach. The facilities are a little dated but very clean with plenty of hot water. Camp fires are not allowed but we were allowed to use our tripod BBQ.

The clientele is mixed and there's entertainment some nights of the week that finishes just after 11pm. We had a couple of early noisy mornings from deliveries and hedge cutting but overall a wonderful stay.

Couple. We stayed for 6 nights from 1st August 2021 in a tent on a non-electric pitch. The staff were very friendly and approachable. We were greeted from the start at reception with a welcoming, quick and easy check in.

We were taken to a pitch and given a choice of areas which was nice. We pitched near the toilet block in the main field. The site is well organised, with rows set out. The only gripe I’d have is that for non-electric hook up tents, they are pitched together a little too close.

The toilet blocks are excellent. There are plenty of toilets and showers with lots of room. A radio station plays through the speakers inside which is a nice touch. The toilets are always kept immaculate.

The cleaning staff are very friendly and chatty, particularly Jenny, which made us feel very welcome and settled in at the site. The toilets were sometimes cleaned about 10. 00 – 10. 30 which was a bit early for us if you want to avoid the morning rush and wait, however, they do have a large disabled toilets in the same block which you can use too.

The washing up area is excellent too. With sinks cleaned regularly and always with really hot water on tap.

One of the bonuses is that you can freeze your ice packs free of charge at reception.

We stayed at this site in 2018 and found it a great campsite then. That time we stayed in the second field which was a little quieter. This time, I don’t know whether to Covid or restriction to travel abroad, but there were a few rowdy guests this time. One group was particularly loud and had an ‘incident’.

One of the flags from our tent was pinched and we returned one evening to find stones around our tent. You do see security around but I think they should patrol a little more often.

All in all, this is a great campsite and caters for families, couples and all ages! The ground is kept very good and I can’t praise the staff enough for making us feel welcome and enjoy our stay.

The location is brilliant. A short walk to the Dolphin bar which serves good pub food and has Doom Bar on tap. There is a little camp shop and a laundrette too.

From there you can walk to the beach. (A little climb over the sand dunes) You can walk to Hemsby in a matter of minutes or go the other way up to Winterton Beach. You can take a romantic evening walk across the sandy beaches with next to no-one in sight.

Hemsby itself has a coupe of nice pubs, lots of amusement arcades and lots of places to get food. For Fish & Chips, I’d recommend the one at the end of Beach Road by the Trampolines.

As a couple, we tend to holiday around the country and visit many different campsites. Long Beach Caravan Park is one of the few that we have returned too and will most definitely return to in the future.

 Plus points:

- Very relaxed and cheerful management, 'you can pitch your caravan how you like'

- Large, grassy pitches, with good mix of tents and caravans.

- Access to beach where only those on the estate could get to them making it a quieter, sandy beach, with occasional visiting seals.

- toilet block big and modern.

Points to note.

- From the touring pitches, it's a long walk to the beach, 500 yds? But you can drive and park closer.

- The toilets were not that clean a lot of the time, probably because the site was full (they were cleaned regularly so maybe it's just the other campers).

- Hemsby 'village' - the seafront part of it - is like a really low-rent version of Southend on Sea, really unattractive buildings holiday and amusement shops on a really crowded footprint. Fortunately there are more attractive villages nearby to drive to.

Very busy and lively site wasn’t too impressed at the lack of marked out pitches and the close proximity of the other tents all around us! (Wish we had gone for electrical hook up as these were placed all around the perimeter of the fields)

Came back late one night to find new neighbours both sides with guy ropes crisscrossed over ours! Way too close for my liking! Was actually closer than I’ve camped at some festivals!

But site wardens we’re extremely friendly and helpful, ice pack freezing was free, the toilets and showers were lovely and clean (very powerful shower if not many using at same time, almost lost a nipple lol)

There was a sandpit and play table for children to play with great if you have little ones,

The location is great for visiting lots of places around Norfolk and the private beach access was absolutely brilliant we could see how busy it was further down the beach and we’re very glad we had the space we had!

There is also a bar on site but we didn’t use it(not our thing was a bit too loud n cheesy)

If you want a social holiday and don’t mind close neighbours this is absolutely brilliant!

Was welcomed into the camp site and showed to my pitch which was first class, great camp site and great location.

Toilets and shower, washing up area first class too.

Will definitely go back with my 7 year old son next year.

A nice quiet site with lovely clean facilities and friendly helpful staff,

Although if you want the hustle & bustle the beach and amusements are a just short walk away

We loved our stay there and will definitely be returning to this site.
