After doing a grand slow drive around snowdonm which was fantastic we decided to find a campsite to stay the night.
Being midweek we risked it not being too busy \nd after a wonderful sunny warm day started to look up somewhere to stop. I think the majority of campsites across there have a no dog policy and if it ain't good enough for Duchess our little very well behaved wire haired terrier, then it ain't good enough for us. After all her cash is as good as anyone elses
Anyway. By accident we came across this wonderful place, dog friendly :) and wow no music , bliss
If it's peace tranquillity and relaxation, there's no better.
The facilities are tops, the river is beautiful and the landscape stunning and our weather was great, 'just keep an eye out for the midges' early morning

We stayed here over the last May Bank holiday. The site itself is well maintained and laid out and in a beautiful spot. Lovely 10 min walk into Beddgelert.
Only downside was the loos and showers. Owners work really hard keeping them clean but on the weekend we were there there were just too many people for too few loos!
All in all a great little site, but next time we'll try and go on a quieter weekend.

We have just returned from a long weekend at Cae Du. Although the weather was bad (understatement) with very heavy rain and gales, the site held up really well. The drainage was excellent. Johan helped us pick a pitch, we could go anywhere and we found a secluded spot near the old barn and facilities. There was lots of advise about local walks and pubs etc in Beddgelert, a 10 minute stroll away. There are 2 toilet blocks which were spotlessly clean and the free hot showers were very welcome. An excellent site with very friendly staff, it was just a pity the weather was so bad we couldn't enjoy the peaceful surroundings, but we will return.

We have just returned from a week staying at this fabulous campsite. A little piece of heaven. The site was very quiet being so early in the season so we pretty much had the pick of the site. We asked advice on best place to pitch the tent and it was perfect! The weather was relatively good to us (being North Wales), we had some rain and strong winds but mainly at night.
The facilities were spotlessly clean and plenty of hot water for showers and washing up. There was the free use of a freezer, ideal for re-freezing the ice packs. Also the use of a tumble dryer if required. So pretty much all you could need really. It was also possible to buy milk from the reception and get your phone charged (not that you could get a mobile signal anywhere other then the summit of snowdon!). Erynne and Johan were the best hosts, very pleasant and approachable. Their new little puppy Indie was adorable and the escaping mule (we named him Neil) was good entertainment value.
All in all a fantastic break. Perfect site for walking into the village for pubs and meals, just a 10 minute stroll along the footpath alongside the river. We also did several walks directly from the campsite, Johan can advise.
Only one very small downside was the road noise. We live in a very rural area ourselves so found the road quite noisy but others may not notice it.
We are definitely going back in August! A wonderful place, just don't tell too many people about it!

We stayed for 6 nights this year, and still love this site.
The owners are great people, the site is well kept and the rules are usually adhered to. This means a nice relaxing time.
Even 12 months on from our last visit, the facilities still seem brand new. Good warm (FREE!) showers.
This year we were here during a Bank Holiday, which meant there were far more people on site than we are used to. No problem with space between plots, but it did mean the showers and toilets were in great demand. There are two sets of facilities, but we only used the main block which consisted of four showers for M & F which did cause cues at prime times.
Despite being busy, there was no problem with noise.
This is a great site if you enjoy peace and quiet, and is ideally situated for visiting the heart of Snowdonia.
We can't recommend it highly enough!

Two shower and toilet blocks, plus laundrette and a freezer. Immaculately kept site and very clean toilets, hooks, bins, toilet brush and toilet paper provided.Washing up sinks also available and lots of drinking water outlets. All the water on site is drinkable :). Very friendly and helpful staff who gave us there time and a smile and lots of local information which was all very helpful.
Strict on peace and quiet which we found to be respectful to our stay
We will definitely come again as the views of the mountains and hills, streams and animals were amazing.
There were black cows and sheep and lambs there and a mule.Very pleasant stay we would of stayed an extra night but the weather wasn't being kind to us .Excellent site and we will be visiting it again soon.

We have just come back from the Easter Bank Holiday weekend at this site and it was one of the best camping trips that we have had!
The site itself is in the most beautiful and ideally based location - perfect for Snowdon, Betws y Coed, Porthmadog and the Lleyn Peninsula.
Although it was busy it did not feel like it was, as per previous comments, and you were free to pitch wherever you liked. We chose a pitch near the river and although it was raining heavily when we arrived (and had been for some time) the ground was well drained and we had no problems.
The owners are incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. It is a very well run and organised campsite but still feels very laid back. They do have some strict rules about the noise and the barriers are shut at 10.00pm to prohibit car noise but this was perfect for us as it allows you to just listen to your surroundings and appreciate them!
The village is a picturesque 10 minute walk away and the cafe there does the best pizza ever which you can either eat in or take away - a must if you stop here!
The facilities are spotless and there is plenty of hot water and washing up facilities.
The only possible downside is that there is no mobile phone coverage here, it seems to be a bit of a blackspot but there is a pay phone should you need it.
All in all I would rate this site 10/10 and we will definitely be coming back!

Just had a fantastic relaxing long weekend here, friday to monday. Site very quiet apart from escaping Mule (charlie!) who gave us great entertainment :-) visited this site late late august last year and facilities just as clean and tidy now as then. Only down side at the moment was showers only available in the main block, but lovely and hot to warm up in after a very cold night.
Excellent and friendly welcome as always and good advice on where to pitch our tent.
Will definitely be returning again later this year.

I ended up staying at this site by 'accident' after the people at the Forest Holidays site up the road wouldn't let me sleep in the back of my pick up truck on their site. To be honest, I'm really glad they didn't as this is probably the nicest site I've stayed at.
On arrival I found the owners of the site extremely friendly and polite. They suggested which parts of the site would be the quietest, and where there were hardstandings for me to park the truck on.
The toilet and shower block was easily the cleanest I have been in, but with only two showers in the block (there was another block which I didn't go in). The showers were really powerful and hot. Next to the toilets / showers was a dishwashing area, which once again was absolutely spotless. There was also a laundry room with a payphone in it (I couldn't get a signal on my mobile, but maybe that's a blessing.)
You get a electronic card to work the gate, which you get in return for a £10 refundable deposit. I think the gate was locked to cars at 10pm, but it was only a 10 minute walk down into Beddgelert anyway. Unlike the Forest Holidays site you don't have to walk along the road to get there and it isn't a long walk uphill on the way back! The site didn't allow any groups, and was blissfully quiet. This was nice as I had noticed a large group of about 20 kids doing DofE had just arrived when I tried to book in at the Forest Holidays site.
On the last morning I was pleased to find that reception was open at 7am, which meant I could return my card and get off walking early. The owner even opened up the laundry room early for me so I could use the payphone before I left.
Overall I was extremely impressed with the site and it will definitely be my first choice of site the next time I'm in Snowdonia.

It never stopped raining but its a great site, very clean showers with lots of free hot water. We chose our own pitch and had lots of space around the tent. Our pitch was close to the river and enjoyed the peace and quite. The site was more of a camp site than a touring caravan site. It's a short walk to bedgelert where therer's quite a few pubs to choose from all serve nice food and generally a great atmosphere. Will definitely return. We would recommend this site for a peaceful and quite location.
